Patients and caregivers in the U.S. often spend more than eight hours each month managing appointments, medications, medical records, and insurance-related issues on their own. This burden leads to higher costs and delayed or missed care. Traditional navigation channels across insurers, providers, and employers reach only a subset of patients and caregivers who need help.
Filling the gap is a new wave of direct-to-consumer (D2C) solutions that are beginning to show their impact. The early traction of Solace Health, Citizen Health, and PocketHealth, among others, points to pent-up demand for accessible, trusted care navigation services outside legacy channels. However, there is still a significant opportunity to reimagine D2C care navigation by putting AI at its core to guide patients and act on their behalf.
Why the timing is right to broaden access to care navigation:
⚡ Gap: Quality care navigation is still fragmented, costly, and inaccessible for many patients
🌐 Tailwinds: New Medicare reimbursement codes, rapid AI advances, and rising consumer comfort with digital health tools (one in six U.S. adults now use an AI health chatbot monthly)
🚀 Opportunity: Build an AI-innate, patient-centered platform that delivers comprehensive, impartial, and affordable navigation at scale
