The best open-source projects start as deeply personal side projects. NephroCompass is one of them, built by a Deepti Bahel - a kidney transplant survivor who wanted to help others catch CKD earlier: https://lnkd.in/g8huF6-f

We re-architected Neon Auth to integrate it directly into the Neon platform. Auth now lives in your Postgres database and branches with your data: https://lnkd.in/d3mVzkHS 👉 𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐰𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐛𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐭 𝐍𝐞𝐨𝐧 𝐀𝐮𝐭𝐡 Our previous implementation relied on a third-party identity provider and webhook synchronization. This prevented us from delivering the seamless developer experience we aim for, especially around branching, one of the core pillars of our platform. So we rebuilt Neon Auth as a native service inside Neon, on top of one of the best open-source authentication frameworks available: Better Auth 👉 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐮𝐧𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐤𝐬 𝐈𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐚𝐬𝐞 Users, sessions, organizations, and permissions now live directly in your Neon schema. This gives you a cleaner identity model, simpler relationships, and tighter integration with your data: https://lnkd.in/dJPeYjGR 𝐀𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐬 Every Neon branch becomes a complete, isolated environment with its own auth state. This is a major unlock for different kinds of teams: - Fast-moving startups can spin up preview environments that mirror production and test real signup/login/reset flows before shipping - SaaS platforms can validate tenant isolation and permission behavior safely without risking cross-tenant data leaks - Compliance-sensitive teams can test full user lifecycle flows in CI/CD without touching production, and keep automatic audit trails inside Postgres 👉 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐞𝐝 𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐧𝐝 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐯𝐢𝐚 𝐧𝐞𝐨𝐧-𝐣𝐬 We’re also launching neon-js, a unified SDK that brings the Neon Database, Data API, and Auth into one coherent developer experience. Agent and codegen platforms can use neon-js to spin up and tear down full application environments programmatically: https://lnkd.in/dEKCsHCb The new Neon Auth is available for all Neon users, including the Free Plan. Enable it for your project and start building right away: https://lnkd.in/gZsamfGr

More than 𝟓𝟎𝟎𝐤 𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐬 are created 𝐩𝐞𝐫 𝐝𝐚𝐲 on Neon. We compiled the most-used branching workflows across our platform into a blog post, perfect if you're just getting started with branching: https://lnkd.in/g-Arw6qW

Custom agents are live in GitHub Copilot, with two Neon-powered agents you can add to your workflow today: Migration Specialist and Performance Analyzer 👉 https://lnkd.in/gaeE8Q5B The Migration Specialist gives you safe Postgres migrations with zero-downtime. You can test schema changes in isolated database branches, validate, then apply to production - all automated with support for Prisma, Drizzle, or your favorite ORM: https://lnkd.in/ggFTT3he The Performance Analyzer helps you identify and fix slow Postgres queries, analyzing execution plans, testing optimizations in isolated branches, and showing before/after performance metrics with actionable code fixes: https://lnkd.in/gn54VnAT

Custom agents shift GitHub Copilot from "help me write this code" to "help me build software the way our team builds software." 🚀 We’re introducing a growing ecosystem of partner-built (and DIY!) agents for: ☁️ IaC 🔍 Observability 🛡️ Security They work everywhere you do: Terminal, Visual Studio Code, and GitHub.com. Your stack, your rules. Learn more with our guide. ⬇️ https://lnkd.in/gAWSUiFX

We made an infra optimization that helps us keep scaling without disruption: We moved from a central CoreDNS pod in Kubernetes to local caches using NodeLocalDNS, cutting tail latencies by as much as 87%. Luca Cittadini and Lassi Pölönen wrote about the change in detail on our engineering blog. Link in comments!
