Where To Watch Stargate Online In 2026
Want to stream Stargate SG-1, Atlantis, Universe, and more? Here’s our guide to where the shows are currently available in the U.S. right now.
There’s never been a better time to get into Stargate! With a new series coming from Amazon MGM Studios, now is the time for new viewers to get caught up — and for long-time fans to do another rewatch.
So if you don’t own Stargate SG-1, Atlantis, SGU, and the films on Blu-ray or DVD, where can you stream them online?
Here’s a quick and handy guide for where the shows are currently streaming for viewers in the United States. Outside the U.S., check these and other local streaming services. Rights differ from one country to the next, and they change from time to time. Even though Amazon now owns the franchise, they make money by licensing them to other outlets … so you won’t necessarily find classic Stargate on Prime Video in your country.
Only want the episodes that are important to the ongoing storylines? Cut your viewing time in half with GateWorld’s Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis Key Episodes lists.
We will keep this guide updated as things change! If you spot a change in online availability, please drop us a tip.

WATCHING STARGATE SG-1
Where to Watch: Prime Video, Netflix, Pluto TV, Roku
Prime Video: All 10 seasons are currently included with Amazon Prime Video in the U.S. Prime subscribers can watch the show’s entire run for no additional cost. This is the best place to stream the show, with 16:9 widescreen episodes. The two follow-up movies, The Ark of Truth and Stargate: Continuum, are also currently included with Prime.)
Amazon Live TV: Amazon’s free, ad-supported service has Stargate running on a loop as a 24/7 live channel. These are widescreen episodes, streaming in high definition.
Pluto TV: All 10 seasons are streaming for free (with ads) on Pluto TV in the United States. The service has both an On Demand section and a 24/7 Stargate Channel. These are the widescreen episodes in HD, and the first episode is the “Final Cut” (without the nudity of the original cable broadcast … although Pluto TV still labels it as “TV-MA”).
The Roku Channel: All 10 seasons are streaming for free (with ads) on Roku’s 24/7 Stargate channel in the United States. SG-1 is also available on demand with the paid MGM+ add-on.
Hulu: All 10 seasons of SG-1 are available to stream on Hulu with the extra Live TV subscription add-on.
Netflix: All 10 seasons are currently streaming on Netflix. These are noticeably inferior copies of the episodes, with low SD resolution and 4:3 presentation on the early seasons. This is not the ideal place to watch the show. (Note to new viewers: Netflix has erroneously labelled the entire series as “TV-MA,” though adult content — a scene with full-frontal female nudity — appears only in the first episode.)
Episodes and seasons are also available for purchase digitally from: iTunes, Google Play, YouTube, Fandango, and other retail sites. (Buyer beware! Digital purchases are for a license, which can be revoked in the future.)
Video Quality: While it’s more common these days for streaming services to have 16:9 widescreen episodes in HD, 4:3 standard definition copies do surface from time to time. SG-1‘s first seven seasons were produced in an era when HD televisions were not common. But you’ll get the best video quality on Blu-ray or DVD (the DVD edition sporting a 5.1 surround sound mix starting with Season Two). The releases from VEI use upscaling and dynamic noise reduction (DNR) to improve the picture, though it should be said that the result is not to everyone’s liking.
WATCHING STARGATE ATLANTIS
Where to Watch: Prime Video, Hulu, Pluto TV
Prime Video: All five seasons are currently included with Prime Video. Prime subscribers can stream all 100 episodes of the show for no additional cost.
Hulu: All five seasons of SGA are also included with your Hulu subscription.
Amazon Live TV: Amazon’s free ad-supported service has Stargate running on a loop as a 24/7 live channel.
Pluto TV: All five seasons are streaming for free (with ads) on Pluto TV in the United States. The service has both an On Demand section and a 24/7 Stargate Channel.
Episodes and seasons are also available for purchase from: iTunes, Google Play, YouTube, Fandango, and other retail sites. (Buyer beware! Digital purchases are for a license, which can be revoked in the future.)
Video Quality: Streaming services will stream Stargate Atlantis at the highest quality your Internet connection is able to handle, up to 1080p. The show looks great (Atlantis filmed in HD from Day 1) — but if you have both Amazon and Hulu, watch it on Prime Video. Hulu’s copies of the episodes have hard act breaks — edited in for commercial breaks — which isn’t an optimal way to enjoy the show.
WATCHING STARGATE UNIVERSE
Where to Watch: Prime Video, Pluto TV
Prime Video: Both seasons of SGU are currently available on Prime Video. Prime subscribers can stream all 40 episodes of the show for no additional cost.
Amazon Live TV: Amazon’s free ad-supported service has Stargate running on a loop as a 24/7 live channel. These are widescreen episodes.
Pluto TV: Both seasons of SGU are streaming for free (with ads) on Pluto TV in the United States.
Video Quality: Stargate Universe will stream in HD. For the absolute best quality picture, pick up the show on Blu-ray.
WATCHING THE STARGATE MOVIES
Where to Watch: Prime Video, Pluto TV, YouTube, Roku, Tubi, Hoopla
Amazon: The original 1994 Stargate feature film is currently available to stream with an Amazon Prime subscription in the U.S. (This is the shorter, theatrical cut, and may include ads.) The two SG-1 movies, The Ark of Truth and Stargate: Continuum, are also currently included with Prime.
Pluto TV: All three films are currently streaming free (with ads) on Pluto TV: the theatrical cut of Stargate (1994), Stargate: The Ark of Truth, and Stargate: Continuum. The service has both an On Demand section and a 24/7 Stargate Channel.
YouTube: The original Stargate feature film is currently available free for a limited time on YouTube in the United States. Stargate: The Ark of Truth and Stargate: Continuum are also available to watch free on YouTube in the U.S. These may have ads.
The Roku Channel: All three films are also currently streaming free (with ads) on Roku: the theatrical cut of Stargate (1994), Stargate: The Ark of Truth, and Stargate: Continuum.
Tubi: The original feature film and both SG-1 movies are available to watch for free on Tubi. You may see ads here as well.
Hoopla: The two SG-1 movies are available for free via the Hoopla digital service in the U.S., which requires a (free) account through a participating library. To access this service you have to have a library card, and your library must be a Hoopla subscriber.
Video Quality: The Stargate movies should all be streaming in HD.
WATCHING STARGATE ORIGINS
Where to Watch: Prime Video, Pluto TV, YouTube, Roku, Tubi, Hoopla
Stargate Origins was originally released in 2018 as a 10-part Web series, streaming at MGM’s official Web site, Stargate Command. The webisodes were then recut as a feature-length movie, Stargate Origins: Catherine. Both versions can be found on streaming services, but we recommend the superior feature cut as a single viewing experience. (Origins has not received a physical release.)
Prime Video: The original 10 Stargate Origins webisodes are currently available with a Prime Video subscription. The feature cut Stargate Origins: Catherine is available here to rent or buy.
Pluto TV: The Catherine feature cut is streaming on demand for free (with ads) on Pluto TV in the United States.
YouTube: Stargate Origins: Catherine is currently available free for a limited time on YouTube in the United States. This may have ads.
The Roku Channel: The feature cut is also streaming free (with ads) on Roku.
Tubi: The feature cut is available to stream for free on Tubi. This may have ads.
Hoopla: Stargate Origins: Catherine is also available for free via the Hoopla digital service in the U.S., which requires a (free) account through a participating library. To access this service you have to have a library card, and your library must be a Hoopla subscriber.
Video Quality: Stargate Origins is streaming in HD.
STARGATE INFINITY
Where to Watch: Prime Video
The 2002 animated series is not an official part of Stargate’s canon, and so it isn’t required watching by any means. (We put it in the same category as novels and comics, as licensed merchandise.) Stargate: Infinity ran for a single season and is also available for purchase on DVD.
Prime Video: Stargate: Infinity is currently included with a subscription to Amazon’s Prime Video streaming service.
Video Quality: Stargate: Infinity was produced and streams in standard definition.
WHERE WILL THE NEW SHOW BE?
We anticipate the fourth live-action Stargate television series to premiere in late 2027 or early 2028. As a Prime Video original series, it will stream on Prime simultaneously in 240 countries and territories (unlike the previous shows, where the rights are scattered across different outlets in different places). Stick with GateWorld for the latest!
IS STARGATE ON NETFLIX?
Stargate SG-1 is now on Netflix, after a three-year absence. You’ll need to look for the rest of the franchise elsewhere, however.

BUT DOESN’T AMAZON OWN STARGATE NOW?
Amazon acquired MGM (the studio that owns Stargate) in March of 2022. We anticipate that the Stargate franchise has found a more permanent home on Amazon’s streaming platforms and won’t be going anywhere. In mid-December it’s common for Prime Video to give viewers a warning that one or more of the shows is leaving Prime, but usually Amazon just re-ups the license and Stargate does not actually fall off the service.
Keep watching GateWorld for the latest updates.

I like that you have a section for the video quality, since that used to be a problem for non-Prime streams (especially Hulu). I guess that problem has gone away now. But, I think you should also make a note somewhere if a streaming service has the full-cut of each episode. I know there was a time when some of the services had syndication cuts that left stuff out. Mostly, though, I’m looking for information on what they use for the first episode (exactly like you did for Pluto using the “Final Cut”, thank you) and if the service has the full length version of “Threads”.
Good call! I will try to add in that information, especially on SG-1. You’re right that HD vs. SD is much less of an issue than it used to be.
It can be tough to spot the syndicated cuts, since the versions with ad breaks also aired on basic cable (and wouldn’t necessarily have any material trimmed out). As for extended cuts like “Threads,” AFAIK that is still limited to DVD and Blu-ray and is not streaming anywhere — but it’s always worth double-checking, especially when Amazon seems to swap out the version they are using every couple of years.
I’m a huge fan of SG1and Atlantis. I will be watching one of them today.
