تساهم هذه المقالة في النقاشات والسجالات الساعية إلى تفسير حالة الانكفاء التي تعيشها الحركة الطلابية في الجامعات الفلسطينية في الضفة الغربية، ولا سيما في ظلِّ هذه اللحظة التاريخية الحرجة، حيث تبرز الحاجة والمُلحَّة معرفياً للتفكير في سُبل تفعيل الأطر التنظيمية القادرة على استنهاض القوى الكامنة في مكوِّنات الشعب الفلسطيني. وفي سياق الحركة الطلابية، تتمثَّل هذه القوى الكامنة في "عماد الثورة الفلسطينية المعاصرة"، وذلك من خلال الإضاءة على التحوُّلات المستمرَّة التي تمرُّ بها إدارات الجامعات منذ اتفاقيات أوسلو في العام 1993، مروراً بتبني سياسات البنك الدولي وصعود النزعة الفردانية واللبرلة، والانقسام السياسي، وانتهاء بالإبادة في غزة والحرب المفتوحة في مختلف أنحاء فلسطين.

This article follows efforts by a pirate taxi cooperative in Nicaragua to make themselves visible as Sandinista partisans in the hopes of being granted legal licenses to operate in a context where the dominant political logic of the state is a populist one. It examines how populism transforms the conditions in which subjects can come to appear in front of the state to make a claim, giving way to a dynamic of competition for partisan visibility as the means to access recognition. I argue that the competition for visibility becomes the context for subjects to experience what Yannis Stavrakakis has called "jouissance of the body," which fosters investments in Sandinismo as a political project even when it fails to fulfill its promises. Here, enjoyment manifests in the schadenfreude of witnessing the other's disgrace, the elation of provoking another's envy, and the ecstatic abandon of fantasizing (and at times giving in to the fantasies) of beating up the enemy that is standing in the way of the materialization of one's aspirations. I conclude by showing how tending to these sites of enjoyment can help us rethink how we understand the adversarialism at the heart of populist politics, enabling us to see how it operates from the bottom up.

El artículo analiza las aspiraciones y expectativas de adolescentes y jóvenes que egresan del cuidado residencial en Chile y enfrentan la transición a la vida independiente. A partir de un estudio cualitativo con participantes vinculados a Aldeas Infantiles SOS, se examinan sus trayectorias educativas, laborales y de emancipación. Los resultados muestran transiciones abruptas hacia la adultez, marcadas por autonomía forzada, escasa preparación institucional y restricciones estructurales, junto con temores de abandono y expectativas limitadas. Se concluye que los programas de apoyo requieren enfoques integrales, acompañamiento continuo y planificación individualizada, incorporando las experiencias de los propios jóvenes para mejorar su diseño e implementación y favorecer una autonomía efectiva y sostenida.

En el segundo trabajo “Propuesta de usos juveniles del Rebozo mexicano, con base en los estilos personales de Alice Parsons, por estudiantes del diseño de modas”, Fanny Lucas Estrada, Lizbeth Enríquez Valdés y Manuel Ávila Mancilla analizan cómo los estudiantes de diseño de modas reinterpretan y resignifican una prenda tradicional como el rebozo mexicano. Con base en los estilos personales de Alice Parsons se propone un uso contemporáneo de esta prenda, explorando cómo los jóvenes pueden revalorizar y adaptar elementos de su patrimonio cultural a sus propias identidades y estilos de vida.

Bu çalışmada, ortaöğretim öğretmenlerinin yıldırma davranışlarına maruz kalma durumlarının betimlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Araştırma, Adıyaman ve Sivas illerinde ortaöğretim kurumlarında çalışan toplam 480 öğretmenden elde edilen verilerin analizi ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırmada ayrıca nitel boyut olarak, 15 öğretmen ile yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu kullanılarak yapılan görüşmede elde edilen verilerin içerik analizi yapılmıştır. Elde edilen bulgular, öğretmenlerin düşük düzeyde yıldırma davranışlarına maruz kaldıklarnı göstermektedir. Okullarda en fazla gözlenen yıldırma davranışlarının"imalı konuşma ve emeğin küçümsenmesi" gibi psikolojik nitelikli davranışlar ile "öğretmen gruplaşmaları ve sözün kesilmesi" gibi fiziksel nitelikli davranışlar olduğu bulunmuştur. Psikolojik ve fiziksel etkenlere ilişkin geliştirilen tepkilere ilişkin olarak da, "önemsememe ve duymazlıktan gelme" davranışlarının daha yaygın olduğu görülmektedir. Kurum yöneticilerinin, kendi kurumlarında sıklıkla görülen yıldırma davranışlarının neler olduğuna ilişkin durum belirlemesi ve bunu izleyen eğitim çalışmalarının yıldırma davranışlarının yarattığı olumsuz etkiyi azaltacağı düşünülmektedir.

Zusammenfassung Das Konzept der Stigmatisierung steht zentral für die soziologische Krankheitsbetrachtung. Ausgehend von der Theorie Goffmans, wird Stigma auf Identität und Karriere bezogen. Da einige Konzepte Goffmans problematisch sind, erscheint es sinnvoll, ihren Gehalt empirisch zu überprüfen. Zum Ausgleich der Defizite der quantitativen Forschung über das Stigma der Epilepsie wurde eine Gruppe epileptischer Patienten mit qualitativen Methoden untersucht. In der Analyse der Ergebnisse zeigt sich, daß die Diagnose der Epilepsie zwar stigmatisierende Prozesse auszulösen vermag, aber selten zu einem neuen „master status“ führt. Vielmehr gelingt es den meisten Patienten, durch Segmentierung ihrer Identitätsbereiche und durch gezielt dramaturgische Normalisierung, Stigma abzuwehren. Dieser Befund legt nahe, das soziale Handeln und die Ich-Identität von Patienten in der soziologischen Theorie der Stigmatisierung stärker zu berücksichtigen.

Language occupies a vital position in human existence, serving both as a functional bridge for interaction and a symbolic marker of a community's heritage. This subject was selected due to the significant impact of global integration and digital advancements on linguistic patterns, specifically concerning the survival of indigenous cultural markers. The primary objective of this inquiry is to examine how language operates as a communicative instrument and its intricate link to social identity. This investigation utilized a qualitative framework through a literature-based methodology, synthesizing data from diverse academic texts, scholarly periodicals, and theoretical references on linguistics and sociology. The analysis reveals that language transcends the mere exchange of thoughts and emotions; it acts as a crucial vessel for upholding traditional values, ancestral customs, and communal distinctiveness. Furthermore, linguistic structures provide a window into the collective mindset and ethics of a population. Nevertheless, the rise of global interconnectedness and the dominance of international dialects have led to a noticeable reduction in the use of mother tongues among the youth. Consequently, proactive measures to safeguard linguistic diversity are essential for protecting cultural integrity and ensuring social stability. These results underscore that defending local languages is a fundamental component of preserving a nation's broader cultural legacy.

For this piece I compiled and analyzed the different tropes/roles that often befall women in (Western) horror films, and the ways in which those fulfill/reinforce existing gender norms or expectations. I reference several classic and modern horror texts in an effort to understand the visual and narrative modes of gender construction in the genre. 

This study examines the educational experience at the basic level of women who became pregnant or were mothers during adolescence and who were also beneficiaries of Mexico's Scholarship Program to Support Basic Education for Young Mothers and Pregnant Teenagers (Promajoven). A quasi-experimental research design was used, as well as in-depth interviews and case studies. It should be noted that pregnancy is not the direct trigger for dropping out of school, but rather follows processes such as marital union, dropping out due to economic constraints, and lack of interest. Promajoven acts as a complementary stimulus to reintegrate young women, especially those who are not in school, but it does not ensure the completion of basic education. The findings highlight the need for comprehensive interventions that address both personal and contextual factors.

This paper highlights the intercultural approach of a yoga teacher training program for Indigenous people in Treaty 6 territory in the prairie region of central Canada. Using a grounded theory methodology, we analyzed qualitative data to foreground Indigenous experiences and understandings of yoga. In yoga, as in the Indigenous Medicine Wheel, wellbeing is understood as multi-dimensional, integrative, and holistic. Drawing on Indigenous values of ceremony, relationship building, and the environment, trainees gain fluency in Indigenous ways of knowing and being. While yoga practice at a commercial studio may be exclusionary and perpetuate colonial appropriation of South Asian religion, the practice of yoga by Indigenous people is understood as an act of decolonization. In this way, the practice of yoga can be a culturally appropriate support for the development of Indigenous spirituality, and it may be understood as an act of Reconciliation.

İçinde milliyetçilik anlayışının da barındığı bu çalışmalar, Türkiye için bir tür laboratuvar niteliğinde olmuştur. İmparatorluğa bağlı uluslar, kendi milli devletlerini kurdukça imparatorluk içindeki aydın kesim Türk kimliğine daha sıkı sarılmıştır. I. Family and work are institutions of obvious importance from the point of view of an individual and society. These institutions are connected by a network of complex interactions. On the one hand, work, the conditions in which it is performed, income derived from it, can affect the functioning of the family and the way in which it is perceived. On the other hand, the degree of involvement of individuals in the professional sphere, expectations and aspirations connected with it may be a derivative of the family situation. The article presents a comparative analysis of family and work as values based on data from the European Value Survey. This international survey, conducted since 1990 in Poland on the basis of a representative, random sample, allows searching for determinants of the attitude to family, marriage and work. El objetivo de este artículo es comprender las representaciones de las violencias que destacan los raperos adscritos al estilo malandro en el Área Metropolitana de Guadalajara (amg). Parto del supuesto de que estas representaciones se constituyen de un conjunto de desventajas sociales que se acumulan en las trayectorias de los sujetos, lo cual incide en que se apropien de estilos de vida plagados de violencias, tanto padecidas como de las que ellos forman parte activa. De manera general, los exponentes nombran esta condición social como mala vida. En esta pesquisa destaco algunos aspectos teóricos para comprender las representaciones de las violencias, así como ciertos elementos importantes del contexto mexicano y del amg; analizo los relatos de los raperos acerca de las violencias estructurales que les han tocado experimentar, y después, presento los testimonios sobre la violencia extrema generada por actores paralegales que controlan las localidades del amg. Asimismo, destaco las representaciones que los raperos constituyen a partir de su apropiación en torno a las violencias y los riesgos por los que han tenido que pasar a partir de su adscripción al estilo malandro. Al final del texto analizo las representaciones de las violencias en el videoclip de los exponentes, ya que expresan algunos significados en sus producciones musicales. Este conjunto de apartados me permite desarrollar algunas explicaciones acerca de las violencias vividas por los raperos, así como comprender los significados que los exponentes expresan en sus representaciones y los sentidos que les otorgan dentro de sus prácticas musicales, aspectos que iré profundizando en el transcurso del artículo.

Resumen: Entendemos la pubertad y la adolescencia como el constitutivo de una de las fases más importantes para el género humano. Durante este periodo los jóvenes se encuentran a sí mismos para saber cuál es el rumbo que van a tomar. Esto para ellos les genera cambios que tienen que superar.

Propongo describir y analizar la presencia del movimiento punk en Buenos
Aires (Argentina, 1977-1989) a partir de dos planos o intenciones de investigación paralelas. Por un lado, respecto a sus contenidos empíricos nutridos por aspectos teóricos específicos: “exhibicionismo punk”, “escena local” y “espacialidad urbana” enmarcados por la relación establecida entre la ética y la estética, según Frith (2003). Y por el otro, indagando acerca de sus implicancias metodológicas, a instancias de reforzar una retórica argumentativa respecto a las fuentes y las historiografías académicas sobre la temática.

This article examines the Topkapı branch of the Ottoman Philanthropic Society, founded in 1908 within a local Committee of Union and Progress (CUP) club and reorganized as an independent organization in 1913. Based on previously unexamined archival materials, it adopts an actor-centred approach to analyse the social composition of administrators, donors, and aid recipients between 1908 and 1918. It explores how their distribution across millet, gender and socio-economic status reflects the organization of philanthropy, the social base of the CUP, and the transformation of its modes of social intervention in late Ottoman Istanbul. Despite an initially inclusive framework, the Society was governed by a predominantly Muslim and exclusively male board. Donors were more diverse, though non-Muslim and women’s participation remained limited. Educational and employment aid primarily targeted Muslim individuals, whereas healthcare services reached a broader population, particularly before 1913, after which non-Muslims no longer appear in the Society’s records.

Marco Chivalán sabe que no se trata de un nosotres neutral que deba hacerse imputable. El incendio es parte de un orden, del establecimiento de cortes, la materialización de la realidad cuyos procesos implican la producción de nociones particulares de lo humano y lo no humano. El uso de los cuerpos racializados, feminizados y naturalizados como prótesis del humanismo moderno y su modelo ideal: el hombre blanco heterosexual, ciudadano, hablante de un idioma oficial. Lo que ya en su texto Nodrizas e infantes a finales del siglo XVIII: biotanatopolítica de la lactancia (Chivalán, 2015) identifica como una práctica (y no solamente discursiva) de mejoramiento/empeoramiento racial.

Este capítulo tiene como objetivo comprender cuál es la perspectiva de los jóvenes en la Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM) hacia el derecho a la ciudad y especialmente en la agenda de movilidad y transporte público en la CDMX, así como explicar qué implicaciones tienen las denominadas voces del futuro hacia las políticas públicas locales.

Cet article retrace l’histoire des controverses sur le traitement clinique de la non-conformité de genre des enfants et des adolescent·es, en France, depuis les années 1980. Ces controverses se structurent autour d’une tension entre deux postures cliniques : d’une part, une posture d’encadrement qui s’est progressivement muée, dans les années 2000, en une posture d’accompagnement des parcours de transition de genre des mineur·es ; de l’autre, une posture correctrice, visant à réaligner aussitôt que possible leur identité de genre sur la catégorie de sexe qui leur a été assignée à la naissance. Si ces deux postures s’opposent, elles se sont pourtant construites de façon concomitante, une large part des controverses portant sur les seuils d’âge au-dessus desquels une intervention sur les corps deviendrait envisageable. Nous repartons, pour le montrer, d’un ensemble de savoirs et de pratiques cliniques forgés aux États-Unis dès les années 1960 pour corriger l’effémination de jeunes garçons prépubères, avant d’être importés en France dans les années 1980 par la pédopsychiatre Colette Chiland. Nous décrivons ensuite la manière dont cette posture correctrice a été contestée, au début des années 2010, tandis qu’ouvraient, sous l’influence paradoxale de Colette Chiland, les premières consultations dédiées à l’accompagnement des transitions de genre des mineur·es. Nous analysons enfin la résurgence d’une posture correctrice, à la fin des années 2010, qui pèse aujourd’hui principalement sur les adolescentes (assignées filles à la naissance), autour desquelles les controverses, autrefois confinées au champ clinique, en débordent aujourd’hui les frontières pour devenir un enjeu de débat public et de crispations politiques. De façon plus transversale, nous montrons que s’affrontent, derrière ces controverses, différentes conceptions du genre et des liens entre sexe et genre.

This article traces the history of controversies surrounding the clinical treatment of gender non-conforming children and adolescents in France since the 1980s. These controversies are structured around a tension between two clinical postures. On the one hand, a posture of supervision, which gradually evolved in the 2000s into a posture of support for minors’ gender transition. On the other, a corrective posture, aimed at realigning their gender identity as early as possible with the sex category assigned to them at birth. While these two postures may be in opposition, they have developed concomitantly, with much of the controversy focusing on the age above which intervention on the body becomes conceivable. We take as our starting point a body of clinical knowledge and practices forged in the US in the 1960s to correct the effeminacy of prepubescent boys, before being imported to France in the 1980s by child psychiatrist Colette Chiland. We then describe how this corrective posture was challenged in the early 2010s, when the first consultations dedicated to supporting minors’ gender transitions opened under the paradoxical influence of Colette Chiland. Lastly, we analyze the resurgence of a corrective posture at the end of the 2010s, which today weighs mainly on adolescents assigned girls at birth, around whom controversies, formerly confined to the clinical field, are now overflowing its boundaries to become an issue of public debate and political tension. More transversally, we show that behind these controversies lie different conceptions of gender and the links between sex and gender.

• Resumen (analítico): La reciente popularidad del concepto de ciudadanía juvenil tiene el indudable riesgo de que estemos ante una nueva categoría llena de retórica pero falta de contenido. Por ello resulta necesario reflexionar, como se hace en este artículo, sobre lo que significa ser joven y ciudadano al mismo tiempo en las sociedades contemporáneas, los obstáculos a superar y las posibilidades de lograrlo. Con este propósito, en el texto se desarrolla un nuevo enfoque sobre la construcción de la ciudadanía juvenil en el que se vincula estrechamente el desarrollo de los jóvenes como personas autónomas con el ejercicio activo y participativo de su condición ciudadana. En el apartado final se proponen algunas líneas de trabajo para desarrollar la ciudadanía juvenil, transformando las políticas públicas de juventud en políticas de ciudadanía. Vanaf de eerste empirische onderzoeken naar de politie, in de jaren zestig en zeventig van de vorige eeuw, heeft het concept politiecultuur een centrale plaats ingenomen in de politiewetenschap. Het vormde een sleutelbegrip in de eerste wetenschappelijke pogingen zicht te krijgen op het specifieke van de politieorganisatie, op het dagelijks reilen en zeilen daarvan, de achtergronden die daarbij een rol spelen en op de betekenissen die politiemensen aan hun werk gaven. Daarbij werd vooral gebruikgemaakt van intensief, etnografisch onderzoek. Niet alleen om een gedetailleerd beeld te krijgen van de dagelijkse praktijken van politiemensen op straat en binnen hun organisatie, maar ook om zicht te krijgen op de deels stilzwijgende en onderliggende waarden en zingeving die daaraan ten grondslag liggen Rubenstein 1973;. Tot op de dag van vandaag vormt het begrip politiecultuur een min of meer vast referentiekader waar vrijwel geen onderzoeker op dit terrein om heen lijkt te kunnen. In considering the spatialization of race and the racialization of space, this article explores dominant media representations of sports cages in the UK. To date, media interest in these cages, often found on social housing estates, has revolved around the role they have played in the childhoods of a small number of young, almost exclusively Black, footballers, primarily from London. In the first academic article to engage with these issues, we adopt a critical approach, examining white spatial imaginaries which promulgate the naturalisation of poverty, and which produce and reproduce social pathologies associated with Black communities, and young Black men in particular. The enduring racialised tropes of lone parent families, gang affiliation and violence, and Black footballers being skilful and athletic but 'difficult' or 'lacking' in tactical acumen are discussed. We highlight examples of commodification, exploitation and glamourisation of these spaces. In addition, the reasons for the centrality of cages in the lives of large numbers of young Black men in London, rarely examined in media representations, are explicated. We end by proposing potential areas of research that are worthy of exploration.

This article analyses environmental justice from the perspective of youth engaged in international environmental negotiations (aged 16-35 in accordance with United Nations (UN) definitions). It complements existing research by building on comprehensive data: 141 interviews with youth participants, 63% female, 54% from the Global South, 44% firstcomers, in three different major negotiation arenas: the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change Conferences of the Parties (COPs, COP 27 and 28), the 15 th and 16 th COPs of the Convention on Biological Diversity, and the 2023 High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development Goals. The study reveals the existence of a common framing of environmental justice across negotiation platforms, gender identities, geographical backgrounds, and levels of experience in international negotiations. We find that youth conceptualize environmental justice along distributive, recognition, and participatory dimensions. On distributive justice, intergenerational and intragenerational both concerns. On recognition, self-recognition is the greater challenge; on participatory dimensions, procedural justice, with barriers such as limited financial resources and restrictive observer status remains central to their claims. This confirms that youth are not merely protesters but proactive agents in global environmental governance, who advocate for greater inclusion in decision-making, recognition as political actors, and solidarity with other marginalized groups.

En el presente trabajo se analizan los discursos de las entrevistas y de las canciones de 8 raperos que participaron en el programa Zapopan Rifa generación 2020, en la colonia Valle de los Molinos. Se investigan tanto los productos audiovisuales que se crearon en el mencionado programa de gobierno como aquellos que son elaboradas por cuenta propia de los raperos. Esto para comprender por qué existe un cambio en su discurso “institucional”, en el que invisibilizan distintas violencias, censuran algunas formas discursivas que normalmente utilizan y agregan discursos institucionalizados. Ello en comparación con las canciones que graban por su cuenta y de manera más o menos independiente. El mapa conceptual con el que se discute el trabajo se basa en los siguientes componentes: 1.- El concepto de agencia de Antony Giddens; 2.- El contexto y la intencionalidad de los discursos, tal como son argumentados por Van Dijk; 3.- Los discursos públicos y ocultos, propuestos por James Scott; 4.- Las nociones de estrategia y de táctica de (Michel De Certeau) y 5.- Una lectura política desde la noción el reparto de lo sensible de Jacques Rancière. Para llevar a cabo este trabajo tuve un acercamiento con 8 raperos (Krearte, Cali o TFK, Harol o HR, Astro, Wasson, Tesis y Astro) que participaron en el programa Zapopan Rifa durante la generación 2020. Se utilizaron entrevistas semiestructuradas y grupos focales, así como el análisis de canciones de la autoría de los sujetos de estudio. Ello dentro y fuera del programa Zapopan Rifa. Como técnica de análisis se acudió al análisis crítico del discurso propuesto por (Bonet, 2012). La intención es discutir el agenciamiento frente a reglas del juego que implicaban censurar sus letras, esto desde una lectura en clave política; y también problematizar el silenciamiento a juventudes invisibilizadas que utilizan formas artísticas como modos de expresión de las violencias que viven.

Masowe bezrobocie, inflacja oraz wiele innych czynników doprowadziły do istotnych zróżnicowań poziomu życia społeczeństwa polskiego. Powstały duże rozpiętości pomiędzy wąską grupą osób o bardzo wysokich dochodach i drugą znacznie liczniejszą grupą -osób dotkniętych ubóstwem. W ostatnich latach znacz nie wzrósł odsetek ludzi korzystających z zasiłków dla bezrobotnych oraz innych form pomocy społecznej. Wielu z nich znajduje się na granicy ubóstwa, prawie niemożliwe jest samodzielne utrzymanie się. Szczególnie trudna sytuacja dotyczy rodzin, w których oboje małżonkowie stracili pracę. Często jedynym ich źródłem utrzymania staje się praca dorywcza oraz opieka instytucji pomocowych, środki te nie są jednak wystarczające, w wyniku czego potrzeby tych osób są zminimali zowane, ograniczone do najbardziej niezbędnych. W niniejszym artykule zostały wyeksponowane dwa obszary rozważań. Pierwszy dotyczy problematyki uznawanych wartości osób dotkniętych niedo statkiem materialnym, drugi natomiast -funkcjonowania rodzinnego wspo 2 0 ARTYKUŁY mnianych osób oraz wpływu preferowanych przez nie wartości na ich życie rodzinne. Problematyka związana z zagadnieniem wartości jest bardzo szeroka. Temat ten zajmuje badaczy wielu dziedzin, między innymi: filozofii, socjolo gii, psychologii. W zależności od zajmowanego stanowiska pojęcie "war tość" nie jest jednoznacznie definiowane, dlatego trudno znaleźć ogólne kryteria pomocne w jego zrozumieniu, człowiek zatem musi przyjąć pewne założenia, które determinują jego sposób myślenia o wartościach. Koncep cje psychologiczne skupiają się głównie na procesach przeżywania wartości, postawach wobec nich oraz na roli akceptowanej hierarchii wartości w ludz kim działaniu. W psychologii wartościom nadaje się często znaczenie "po staw" lub "potrzeb", dlatego często wartość rozumiana jest jako przedmiot czy stan rzeczy, który wzbudza emocje pozytywne i ku któremu jednostka kieruje swoje pragnienia i dążenia. Podstawą rozważań dotyczących w arto ści w niniejszym artykule stała się koncepcja A. Maslowa. Opiera się ona na założeniach, iż wartości układają się w hierarchię potrzeb od biologiczno--fizjologicznych przez potrzeby bezpieczeństwa, miłości, prestiżu i szacun ku, aż po samorealizację; koncepcja ta opiera się na przekonaniu, iż deprywacja potrzeb niższych uniemożliwia jednostce realizację potrzeb wyższych. Autor łączy wartości z potrzebami; idiosynkretyczne potrzeby tworzą idiosynkretyczne wartości . Rodzina traktowana jest jako podstawowa grupa społeczeństwa, pośred nicząca między jednostką a światem zewnętrznym . Jest swoistą mikrostrukturą zapewniającą jednostce podstawowe potrzeby, związane z codzienną egzystencją i kształtującą określone wartości. Majority youths (uneducated/unskilled) in Uganda face challenges identified with unemployment and high-risk practices. An estimated 78 % of Ugandan youth are jobless, need economic capital and life skills. The high rate of unemployment is principally brought about by the absence of employable skills, the lack of capacity of the economy to create as many jobs for the unskilled youth and the ever-increasing population driven by the rural-urban drift. The survey used a mixed methodology where semi-structured questionnaires were used to obtain both quantitative and qualitative primary data using the electronic devices (KoBo Collect software) to conduct the interviews, reaching a total of 770 marginalized youths. Este artigo analisa a juventude como uma construção social esimbólica, compreendida a partir da intersecção entre família,sociedade e cultura. Partindo de uma perspectiva sociológica crítica,o estudo busca superar abordagens naturalizantes da juventude,entendendo-a como uma categoria relacional, historicamentesituada e atravessada por desigualdades estruturais, transformaçõesculturais e impasses do laço social contemporâneo. O referencialteórico articula as contribuições de Pierre Bourdieu, ZygmuntBauman e Maria Rita Kehl, estabelecendo um diálogo crítico entresociologia, teoria social da modernidade e psicanálise. Em Bourdieu,a juventude é analisada como posição no espaço social, marcadapela distribuição desigual dos capitais e pela reprodução dasdesigualdades educacionais. Bauman contribui ao compreender ajuventude como figura paradigmática da modernidade líquida,caracterizada pela instabilidade dos vínculos, pela precarização dasinstituições e pela diluição dos marcos de passagem à vida adulta.Já Maria Rita Kehl permite interpretar a juventude como sintoma dacultura, evidenciando os efeitos subjetivos do enfraquecimento datransmissão simbólica, da autoridade e dos limites.Metodologicamente, trata-se de um estudo teórico-conceitual, denatureza qualitativa, fundamentado na análise crítica das obras dosautores selecionados. Conclui-se que a juventude não constitui umproblema em si, mas expressa contradições estruturais e culturais dasociedade contemporânea, especialmente visíveis no campo daeducação, o que exige práticas e políticas educacionais sensíveis àscondições sociais e simbólicas que atravessam as experiênciasjuvenis.

How should the correlation between the earnings of parents and children in South Africa be calculated in the presence of high unemployment, and what is the role of education in determining this relationship? We use the first four waves of the National Income Dynamics Study (NIDS) for 2008 to 2014/15, and the 1993 Project for Statistics on Living Standards and Development (PSLSD) to investigate the shape of the association between parental and child earnings across the earnings distribution, and find that the correlation is strongest at the ends of the distribution. We correct for possible biases that arise from co-resident parent-child pairs, and from selection into labour market participation in South Africa's high-unemployment society. We find that correcting for selection into employment increases the intergenerational elasticity of earnings by approximately 10 per cent. We unpack the role of education in determining the association of intergenerational earnings and find that the impact is strongest at the bottom of the earnings distribution, and that education accounts for approximately 40 per cent of the total intergenerational earnings elasticity.

Depois de um ano letivo atípico em que a pandemia da COVID-19 levou à suspensão de todas as atividades letivas e não letivas a partir de 16 de março de 2020 e à implementação de ensino a distância, o sistema educativo acentuou fragilidades nos extratos da população escolar mais vulnerável. Young people's sexting is an area of increasing concern amongst parents, educationalists and policy makers, yet little research has been conducted with young people themselves to explore their perspectives on the support they need to navigate relationships in the new digital media landscape. To address this absence, an inter-disciplinary team of researchers undertook a participatory study with students, aged 13 to 15, in a UK secondary school. This paper outlines key study findings, including young people's views on sexting, their recommendations for improved education around sexting in schools, their preferred sources of support, and their perspectives on the way adults should respond to young people's sexting. Findings indicate that sexting education needs to be developed within the context of wider relationship issues, such as gender, power dynamics and trust between peers, and improved communication between students and teachers or other responsible adults. Findings may be used to consider ways of designing and communicating messages around sexting to young people within and beyond educational settings.

Modern Technology has its purpose of making lives easier and helping people to connect. In the advent of fast pacing world through technology, the Internet and Social Media became a "need" in this present generation. It affects the way the people live at present, specifically the youth of today. In this current situation and reality, the researcher desires to have an in-depth study on this and try to look into what "social media" is as well as its purpose for us. This paper will also attempt to see the effects of social media on young people. The researcher will try to see the advantages or benefits of using this platform most especially in problem solving, creative and critical thinking skills, as well as easy access to communication to other people. On the other hand, this study will also try to discover the disadvantages or negative effects of social media to the young such as internet addiction, depression, cyberbullying, "sex texting", and peer pressure. Through a descriptive method and qualitative approach of research, responses will be gathered from the respondent young people or students through an interview. In relation to this, the study will also try to understand and connect the findings or results of the study to the theory on Moral Development by Lawrence Kohlberg, an American psychologist, and James Fowler, an American theologian and professor, in his stages on Faith Maturity and Development as well as some of the social teachings of the Catholic Church which speak about the importance of the role of the parents in the formation of the young people as moral responsibility. To end this study, the researcher will give some recommendations to fellow educators, parents and guardians on how to deal with this reality of "social media" and continue to become values formators of the young people at present.

The reality of trauma in the world is a call for the church, as the Christian community, to become a trauma-healing community. Therefore, this article highlights the role of the preaching ministry in the process of fulfilling this call through a trauma-aware preaching approach. This approach is grounded in an in-between theology that embraces suffering, pain, and grief as well as hope, resurrection, and redemption. Thus, the preaching approach uses
eschatological hope about suffering and hope as good news. In addition, this article offers a practical application of the trauma-aware preaching approach in sermons during Lent, Triduum, and Easter.

Young people are mobile across Europe and transnational mobility is seen as a differentiating factor enabling them to gain personal and professional experience. While relationships are seen as important for mobility, the relevance of personal networks to young people´s thoughts of moving abroad has not received adequate attention. Specifically, different types of relationships with (non-)mobile others to whom young people are connected have not yet been studied as one origin of their thoughts of moving abroad. Grounded in quantitative data from the European H2020 project MOVE (n=5,499) we show that in addition to different aspects of unequal mobility opportunities (young people’s and parents’ socio-demographic status, prior mobility experience, country of residence, occupation) the constitution of young people’s network has a bearing on their mobility prospects. This qualitative case study investigates the implementation and sustainability of restorative justice (RJ) practices within a middle school serving a predominantly Black and Hispanic student population. The study was designed to understand how school personnel describe, enact, and sustain restorative approaches to discipline with the explicit goal of reducing the disproportionate use of exclusionary practices-specifically suspensions and expulsions-against students of color. Data were collected over a three-week period through in-depth, semi-structured interviews with six key school personnel, including administrators, counselors, and teachers, supplemented by 30 hours of direct observation and a thorough review of relevant school and district documents. Thematic analysis of the data yielded four principal findings. First, the development of cultural understanding, recognition of implicit bias, and the intentional cultivation of student-school personnel relationships were identified as foundational prerequisites for reducing schoolwide disciplinary infractions and improving overall school climate and culture. Second, the intentional leadership of school administrators in guiding a mindset shift among staff-from a punitive, exclusionary orientation to a restorative, relationship-centered one-proved critical in establishing a positive learning community and facilitating the implementation of RJ practices. Third, the long-term sustainability of restorative justice within the school was found to depend on three key levers: the consistent application of RJ practices across the school, the provision of ongoing and embedded support for staff, and the systematic onboarding of new staff members into the school's restorative philosophy. Fourth, professional development, particularly when focused on building cultural proficiency and restorative theory, served as the primary vehicle for building staff capacity. The study concludes that effective and sustainable restorative justice implementation is not merely a programmatic change but a profound cultural transformation that requires committed leadership, deep engagement with issues of race and equity, and structural supports that embed restorative principles into the daily life of the school. These insights contribute to the growing literature on alternatives to exclusionary discipline and offer practical guidance for school leaders seeking to disrupt the school-to-prison pipeline and foster more equitable educational environments.
