Hey all. So ideas of when we want to have a meet in December?
Which Sunday would work better?

I'd like to propose a new meeting location.
Any issues with a downtown meeting location?

The one I have in mind: 374 Donald Street, 2nd floor.
This location is Free. It's 2500 sq ft (lots of room!) It has a kitchenette, washrooms, a projector, tables, chairs, and couches.

I'm a member of SkullSpace, the Winnipeg Hackerspace (for more information check out: http://www.skullspace.ca). I have permission to use the space for Doll Meets. It's between Ellice and Notre Dame, near the Giant Tiger. Just need to give them a date of when I'd like to use it and we should be golden, so long as anything else they're planning doesn't conflict.

The only thing is, is that other SkullSpace members may also be there (as that's what the space is for, the members), but it's usually pretty dead on Sundays. Members of SkullSpace are respectful of everyone else's property. We work on the honor system.

Yes, they know about the dolls. :)

Celebration of Leigh-Ann's Birthday and last doll meet with her Winnipeg doll friends since she's moving away

Since the Ai-kon volunteer meeting is from 12-2 that day, the start time will give those of the community who need to attend that a chance to come to the meeting as well.

A location has still yet to be decided.

Hi!

So because May 13th is Mother's Day, and with discussion among others, the meet has moved to May 20th at the St. Boniface Library.

This is the last Sunday that the Library will be open until September. Any meetings after that wanted at the Library will have to be on another day.

(I edited my last sentence because I realized that the Library would still be available for other days if anyone wanted. ^^; But we've always had them on Sunday's.)

Thanks to everyone who came to the Forks today for the meet. It was a nice day and it was great to see some new dolly faces. :) We were lucky it wasn't all too packed there. I thought it would be WAY worse.

Next meet: I booked the St. Boniface Library room for Sunday, May 13th from 1:00pm to 4:45pm (cleanup after that, out by 5:00pm).

Entrance fee to help with room rental will only be $2.50 this time. Please try to bring exact change.

Feel free to bring items to sell, and feel free to bring money to buy stuff too. ;)

So... with Ai-kon coming up, and their accepting forms now for panels, has anyone thought of organizing a BJD panel?

Also, it's been on and off in my mind for some time. I'm certain many of us have heard about Doll North, and some of us may have actually been there. I haven't. Perhaps one day I'll attend Anime North and check out Doll North too. :)

I've been pondering the idea of creating something similar, of our own, within Ai-kon. Granted it's too late this year but with help, for next year we may have something good to pitch to them. I call this 'Project Ai-doll' (Ai-doll being the name I'm working with right now for the mini BJD con).

For this year, a few consecutive hours in a room for a get-together and a few panel sessions would do?

Maybe go beyond the "Intro to BJDs" (or least devote a few slides to it for the newbs) then focus more on some Workshops?

How about a meet at Assiniboine Park on Sunday May 13th?

I'm looking into renting a sheltered picnic site. I can use up last Libraries meeting funds and charge a few bucks per person to help pay the rest, depending on how many plan to attend.

Food can be brought to share. I plan on making mini-sandwiches and perhaps a jello dessert. Please bring your own drinks. There is a sink and a fountain for water.
