The Away Mission Test: Part 44 (遠(えん)征(せい)選(せん)抜(ぱつ)試(し)験(けん) ㊹ Ensei Senpatsu Shiken 44 ^?) is Chapter 253 of the World Trigger Manga.

Short Summary

As Suwa squad starts Day 7 of the Sealed Environment Phase, Selection Test Management announces overhead five key points for the final day of Phase I.

1. Today's labor hours stop at 7 PM but judge evaluations stop at 6 PM. Also, squads cannot contact each other after 6 PM until phase 2.
2. Captains must complete a captain's evaluation between 6-7 PM. The final rankings for Phase I come at 7:10, and the Phase 2 rules come at 7:15.
3. Potable water will be obtainable in Phase 2, but no additional food will be provided, so squads should use containers for food. Only the containers will be transported with the squads.
4. Phase 2 is the long-term combat phase with the temporary squads vs A-rank squads.
5. There are no special assignments today.

Ikoma sends multiple people a long-winded text (see Save Ikoma Text section below) begging for food and offering prizes. Suwa's squad agrees. The day goes by and it becomes time for the captain's evaluation.

Greetings and salutations to my provisional squad comrades, the gentle breeze upon my cheek foretells of the coming spring, and I do so hope that life is treating you all gently as well. It is I, Tatsuhito Ikoma, the Red Freesia of Border.

I do so terribly hate to be a bother, but I write to you now with something of a request. I was the squad member entrusted with the kitchen, but now it seems we have no viable foodstuffs to bring with us into the combat phase. I have only my own unworthiness to blame for this predicament, as I foolishly used up the ingredients best suited to the packed meals we require. We could theoretically subsist on nothing but toast and a meager scraping of jam, but I fear that such threadbare fare would be devastating to squad morale. It fills my heart with an aching pity to imagine Shinnosuke-our growing boy-enduring such indignity without a word of complaint, so that dismal scene must not come to pass.

As such, I beg you all to find it in your hearts to contribute ingredients and/or side dishes that would pair well with sliced bread.
