Moon Jae Shin from Sungkyunkwan Scandal, and also several studies in a trench coat I was bribing myself to do by drawing one of my faves.
Studies I was bribing myself to do:
- drawing from reference/ generally drawing portraits that look like a specific human being
- oh god. if i want to learn how to draw realistic portraits, I'm going to have to learn how lips work, aren't I?
- learning How To Watercolours, both as in
- "does under painting work?" and
- "oh no. i'm going to have to mix colours. i'm going to have mix a skin colour (ie neutral tone hell with a side of things humans are really good at noticing are off.) THAT MATCHES A SPECIFIC PERSON. FUCK."
But despite being a study piece, I think it turned out quite well!

Sep. 22nd, 2020 05:48 pmI recently re-read Valedor by Guy Haley, and I had a lot of fun. It's a Warhammer 40k novel, but instead of focusing on the humans it focuses on the aeldari (read: space elves), and it features my favourite character, Prince Yriel.
And it even contains shippy moments involving him!

I ended up taking the opportunity to practice doing lineless artwork. I think it overall went pretty well. I’m especially proud of my Dana.
I've just realised that I have made some art recently, and I could totally post it to dreamwidth! That is a thing I can do!

Niles: I know what you mean. I can think of a hundred ways to make someone cringe. But when it comes to small talk, I'm at a loss. sigh We're like porcupines— aren't we?

Niles: Yes. We've armed ourselves with barbs to drive other people away. Even if I wanted to get close to someone, I'd probably stab them on accident.
Azura: I'd prefer to think of myself as a rose, not a porcupine— but I see what you mean.
