Nintendo Music is a mobile music streaming app by Nintendo, released on October 30th, 2024, for iOS and Android, exclusively for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers. On June 1st, 2026, it was also released on desktop computers via a web app, as well as on tablets, Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay. The app features a variety of music from Nintendo games, including Kirby games, and receives regular updates to add soundtracks of more games.

Overview

Nintendo Music functions like most music streaming services, allowing for the streaming and downloading of music tracks, as well as the creation of playlists, favoriting tracks, and other functions. Game soundtracks are usually added weekly. Two Kirby games were available at launch: Kirby's Dream Land and Kirby Star Allies.

The app contains music grouped by game, and each game also has its own set of playlists. All games have a "Top tracks" playlist, that contains a selection of tracks that are, for the most part, the "main" ones of the game (in the case of Kirby games, usually original songs found in Story Mode, omitting jingles). Some games with a good number of tracks, like Kirby Star Allies, also have themed playlists, such as for specific modes. There are also official playlists which can feature tracks from multiple games, including those based on specific characters, moods, and common game scenes such as boss battles and staff credits. The app also has a function to prevent spoilers for games selected by the user, which blocks every track of said game from being played or having its details viewed. Finally, for the most part, each separate track has its own unique image that shows an occasion in which the track plays in that game; for Kirby tracks specifically, most tracks have a unique image, save for a couple exceptions like bonus tracks.

Certain tracks can be extended to 5, 10, 15, 30, or 60 minutes. Generally in the case of Kirby tracks, most tracks that loop in-game can be extended (leaving out jingles, cutscene themes, and credits themes), but some exceptions exist. There is also a sleep timer which can stop playback after the selected interval of 5, 10, 15, 30, or 60 minutes.

Certain newly released or upcoming games have a selection of tracks available as a "Special Release", where tracks are attributed to a playlist rather than a proper game entry. Kirby Air Riders was the first game to have music added this way.

Kirby soundtracks

As of now, Kirby soundtracks on Nintendo Music only have titles available in Japanese, American English, and British English. All non-Japanese languages display the English titles, with the regional variant changing based on the user's region: Europe and Australia/New Zealand display the British English titles, and The Americas and Hong Kong/Taiwan/South Korea display the American English titles.

The only significant differences between the American English and British English titles are referring to games with their regional names (for example, Kirby: Canvas Curse is referred to as Kirby: Power Paintbrush), though there are occasionally minor formatting differences as well.
