Requests for page protection

Current requests for increase in protection level

Request addition of protection to a page, or increasing the current protection level
Place requests for protection increases at the BOTTOM of this section. If you cannot find your request, check the archive of requests or the page history. Only recently answered requests are still listed here.

Current requests for reduction in protection level

Request removal of protection from a page, or reducing the current protection level

Before posting a request for unprotection, please discuss it with the protecting administrator first. You can create a request below only if you receive no response from them.

To find out which administrator protected the page, go to the page's edit history and click on the "View logs for this page" link (located underneath the page's title). The protecting administrator is listed in the protection log entry, next to the words "protected", "changed protection level", or "configured pending changes". If there are a large number of log entries on the page, use the drop-down menu near the top of the page and select "Protection log" or "Pending changes log" to filter the logs accordingly.

DO NOT request a reduction in protection if...

  • ...you are being prevented from editing the page. A desire to change content is not a valid reason for unprotection. Instead:
    • If you can edit the article's talk page, use the WP:Edit Request Wizard to propose a change on the article's talk page. Include an explanation of the exact content that you want to change, and what the content will be afterward.
    • If the article's talk page is protected, you may propose a change at Wikipedia:Requests for page protection/Edit.
  • ...your reasoning for reducing protection is that the article has not been vandalized. That simply means the protection is working as intended.
  • ...your reasoning for reducing protection is basically "a long time has passed" without supporting details.
  • ...you haven't contacted the protecting administrator.

You may request a protection reduction below if...

  • ...you want to change the protection level of a template or module from full protection to template protection. You may add the request to this page without having to discuss it with the protecting administrator first.
  • ...you need to remove creation protection from a location where no page exists (redlinked pages) after a draft version of the intended article is prepared beforehand and ready to be published.
  • ...you are proposing a trial reduction in protection for a page that has been protected for several years, provided the proposal is supported by evidence such as talk page activity, page views, page traffic, number of watchers, frequency of edit requests, and prior history of vandalism.
  • ...the protecting administrator is inactive or has not responded to you in several days.

If you cannot locate your request, make sure to check the request archives to see if it's been moved there. Only requests that have been recently answered will still be listed here.

Current requests for edits to a protected page

Request a specific edit be made to a protected page
Please add an edit request to the talk page of the protected page before adding an edit request here

Requests for specific edits should be made on the talk page of the protected article. You can create an edit request below only if the talk page is also protected, preventing you from adding a request there.

Otherwise, this is the correct place to use in order to add an edit request if you are unable to add one to the article's talk page. Please see the top of this page for instructions on how to properly add a request.

Change : Zionists wanted to create a Jewish state in Palestine with as much land, as many Jews, and as few Palestinian Arabs as possible.[4] to nothing. Just erase this sentence. Zionism was created long before any talks on the palestinian existence and this is a clear biase to write the definition as a one that based on the palestinian self determination. Requests for autopatrolled

Autopatrolled

Hello! I formally request the Autopatrolled user right. I'm a regular user of Wikipedia, both in Turkish and English. I have contributed to the Turkish Wikipedia, particularly on the Tao-Klarjeti region. I have also started to transfer these contributions to the English Wikipedia. I think it would be good to reduce the workload involved in reviewing the items I have written. Thank you. --ႧႤႧႰႨ ႾႠႰႨ (talk) 15:32, 15 October 2025 (UTC)

I have been editing Wikipedia since 2006, have created numerous new articles, edited countless others, and am very familiar with its policies. Λeternus (talk) 12:46, 20 October 2025 (UTC)

Not done; @Aeternus, you have one creation in the last year, I'm not quite seeing a need. Additionally, you have created multiple pages for payment directly in mainspace, which goes against the guidance given at WP:PAY and something we strongly expect paid editors to follow as AFC provides more thorough review than NPP. Your most recent participation in AFD was also not demonstrative of understanding RS. I understand that the last article you were paid for was in 2023, as was the AFD, but there is not much recently to evaluate against. Sennecaster (Chat) 16:48, 2 December 2025 (UTC)

I've periodically patrolled Michelangelo1992's articles, and consistently found them to be in good shape. Focused on books as a topic area and very clear familiarity with WP:NBOOK. He's created 135 articles. ~ L 🌸 (talk) 22:56, 21 October 2025 (UTC)

@Michelangelo1992: I'm a little concerned about overly lengthy quotations. Would you commit to summarizing quotations a bit more? Also, see MOS:SAID. voorts (talk/contributions) 03:24, 31 October 2025 (UTC)
Thank you for the feedback! I’ve always trended toward direct quotes to avoid concerns for original research, but I can make an effort to paraphrase more in the future while still citing the original source. I’ll also try to be more mindful of WP:SAID. I thought I was doing fairly well with this, but I am always open to feedback particularly if you have specific suggestions relating to recent articles. Thank you! Michelangelo1992 (talk) 14:37, 3 November 2025 (UTC)
Longtime editor dating back to 2006 who hopes to reduce the backlog at New Pages Patrol, of which I am a former member. Not a prolific article creator but I have started many on music albums, hiking/outdoors, and court cases. I plan to utilize my personal expertise to fill in all the red links in this list and this list. I also have professional knowledge of legal matters and hope to create many articles on Supreme Court and Appeals Court cases that are currently absent from Wikipedia. Thanks. ---DOOMSDAYER520 (TALK|CONTRIBS) 15:27, 1 December 2025 (UTC)

I would like to request for AWB rights. I have begun to do more and more grammar and MoS fixes. It would be nice to be able to use AWB to help with such tedious tasks. LuniZunie ツ(talk) 23:52, 1 December 2025 (UTC)

Hi, I have used AWB to good effect in the past, and I think it would be a considerable help to me now. Since I restarted last month, I've done over 1,500 edits, and a high percentage of them have been iterative amendments/corrections/enhancements across ranges of articles. I know I qualify for the software in terms of edit count, but I've only been back here for a couple of weeks, so I'll understand if you want me to apply again at a later date. Thanks very much, Jack (talk) 11:30, 2 December 2025 (UTC)

Requests for confirmation

Confirmed

I would like to request to be manually confirmed in order to be able to translate pages that aren't in English to English. I am a native speaker of both English and German and have a native level of Spanish. I have experience in translation and made this account because it came to my attention that the page for Laurent Simons [de] does not exist in English Wikipedia. However, in order to translate it from German I need to be confirmed.

Thank you for considering my request. Whenlifegivesyoumapletrees(you sit under them) 17:05, 25 November 2025 (UTC)

Not done. You need to be extended confirmed, not autoconfirmed to use the translation tool. If you wish to use the tool you will need to reach that userright naturally, but the right you are requesting is the wrong one anyway. CoconutOctopus talk 16:55, 1 December 2025 (UTC)

Reason for requesting confirmed rights I would like to update my father's Wikipedia page to contain more information about his life. Tlfarah (talk) 19:16, 30 November 2025 (UTC)

@Tlfarah: Your request here does not make it clear what page you want to edit, nor why you would need "Confirmed" level permission to edit that page. Most pages do not require this. Also, I strongly suggest that you read WP:COI and properly declare your conflict of interest before proceeding further. - Jmabel | Talk 00:03, 1 December 2025 (UTC)

Requests for new page reviewer

New page reviewer

I’ve already created a few articles and I often check new pages for sourcing, notability, and overall quality. I also help out in AfD discussions when I can, mostly to look at whether topics meet notability and if the sources are solid. I enjoy helping new editors fix their pages and guiding them on what needs improvement. Since I’m already active in this area, I’d like to take a more direct role in keeping the new pages feed clean and helping page creators understand the basics. Becoming a reviewer would let me contribute more effectively. Thanks for considering my request! Acrom12 (talk) 11:57, 18 November 2025 (UTC)

Automated comment This user has had 1 request for new page reviewer declined in the past 90 days ([2]). MusikBot talk 12:00, 18 November 2025 (UTC)

Hello to the reviewer! I've noticed the large backlog and would like to help make some progress with patrolling pages, mainly redirects. I have some previous experience in the article for creation space, creating my own articles, and creating my own redirects. I try to help new incoming editors, including mentoring my current partner and teaching them how to use the features of Wikipedia. I'm capable of catching content that probably shouldn't belong on Wikipedia, but also helping new users expand draft articles.

I participate in AfD, though my suggestions are often rejected; I consider this a skill that I am still learning. It's worth noting that I have never misused speedy deletion or other non-discussion deletion methods; my usage of these has been successful when I have applied them. Even still, my knowledge of AfC and redirects provides me with a good basis to use this right.

Thank you, and please ask any questions you may have. aaronneallucas (talk) 05:12, 20 November 2025 (UTC)

I've been editing a while and over recent years have been helping mostly with WP:Ukraine-related topics and pages. Having done research on Ukraine on and off-wiki, I would like to extend the help to review new Ukraine and related page creations. I have 7 successful FL nominations (one was a joint-nomination), 1 successful GA (Prelude to the Russian invasion of Ukraine) and 1 unsuccessful (NAFO). Thanks in advance and feel free to ping me with questions/comments. Dan the Animator 01:57, 24 November 2025 (UTC)

I am requesting the New Pages Patrol right.

I have 4,000+ edits, including over 2,500 in mainspace and 500+ article creations. My work has given me solid experience with core content policies, particularly notability GNG, reliable sourcing, verifiability, and BLP compliance. I also participate in AfD discussions and review drafts, which has strengthened my understanding of how these policies apply to new pages.

I would like to support the community by helping maintain the quality of new articles, identifying issues early, and guiding new editors toward constructive contributions. I have no blocks or sanctions.

Thank you for considering my request. Sweetabena (talk) 18:32, 26 November 2025 (UTC)

I'd like NPP rights to help reduce the backlog, as my account has finally reached 90 days old. I've accumulated over 6,000 edits, and I have spent time participating in AfD, and have speedy deleted numerous pages. Cheers! monkeysmashingkeyboards (talk) 18:30, 29 November 2025 (UTC)

@Rosguill Thoughts? Sohom (talk) 05:06, 3 December 2025 (UTC)
Sohom Datta, the result of their last request was here. I stand by my assessment of the state of things at that time: new page reviewer is perhaps the most trust-sensitive permission short of administrator. I think that at this point, 3 further months later, I would not balk on the basis of the prior blocks alone...but I'm also not super thrilled with their responses to the discussion that came up in their last request, not just my objections but also that of DatGuy. Overall I guess I'm neutral at this time. Ironically, I would have had no issues with conferring page mover or most other permissions that are less sensitive to trust and temperament issues. signed, Rosguill talk 15:16, 3 December 2025 (UTC)

My one month trial of the New Page Reviewer right will expire in 8 days I have really enjoyed working as part of NPP and am grateful to Rosguill for granting me the trial. I would like to request a renewals of the right I know it is slightly early but I would appreciate being considered especially with the December 2025 Backlog Drive approaching.   Not done, using large-language models to start a RSN discussion and participate in AFDs in incompatible with holding the NPP userright. Sohom (talk) 04:59, 3 December 2025 (UTC)

Hello! I was a New page reviewer in 2023, and lost the rights due to a block on my account in early 2024. I appealed in September 2024 and returned to Wikipedia, and shortly thereafter requested my previous permissions be restored. I was told it was too early after coming back to regain such rights and that I should work on regaining trust first before applying again. It's been 15 months and around 2,000 more edits since I have returned and I was hoping that I could be considered for this role again.

Thanks EytanMelech (talk) 01:48, 3 December 2025 (UTC)

I'm looking to work on the extensive backlog and be able to contribute more effectively, and efficiently to an area of the encyclopedia I am passionate about. I have been fairly active in the AfC process, have created multiple articles, and promoted two existing ones to good article status myself. In addition, I am a fairly active participant at XfD and monitor the New Pages Feed regularly, so I know what to expect as a New Page Patroller. TheInevitables (talk) 04:25, 3 December 2025 (UTC)
Requests for page mover

Page mover

Hi, I'm LightandDark2000. I have over 13 years of editing Wikipedia, and I'm quite familiar with the page move policies, and other relevant policies on move discussions. I used to have this user right, and since I plan to continue editing periodically, I would like to have this permission back. I was able to use this permission to fight page-move vandalism, handle problematic draft moves and article titles (including my own screwups), and manage my own userspace, and I believe I may have used it after closing some move discussions (although I don't remember when the last time that was). Page-Mover would make my work a lot easier when I need it, instead of having to rely on admins, and I will make good use of the tool. Thanks. LightandDark2000 🌀 (talk) 09:21, 28 November 2025 (UTC)

@LightandDark2000 I'm inclined to grant, but since your return from inactivity you have made no page moves, nor have you edited RM/TR – could you please give an example of a recent case where pagemover would have been helpful, but you had to ask for help instead? I haven't requested any moves yet since my return, but here is one example where I would've found it useful (a recent screwup). I got around that by simply creating another redirect at the right target. LightandDark2000 🌀 (talk) 09:50, 28 November 2025 (UTC)
Done. I tend to regrant if the permission had been used acceptably previously. Here it seems to have been used fine for moving blocking redirects out of the way. (Though note that when a blocking redirect has only one edit (such as Special:History/Subtropical Storm Wanda), there is no need to move the redirect out of the way, just move the page to the redirect.) ~ Jenson (SilverLocust 💬) 22:29, 2 December 2025 (UTC)

Hello, I wish to request Page mover rights. I am active in the NPP and AfC review processes. I frequently encounter pages that require draftification or articles whose titles require correction. These moves often leave unnecessary redirects. I would like to avoid this situation. I have not participated in requested moves or move reviews previously. Best regards. Hi! I've noticed that WP:RM/T is often backlogged whenever I visit or place a new request and have to wait for hours for a response. It happens usually when its nighttime in the western hemisphere. So, I've decided to help reduce the backlog as I could. I can help with both RMT and closing RMs. Thanks for considering! Vestrian24Bio 10:32, 3 December 2025 (UTC)
Requests for pending changes reviewer

Pending changes reviewer

I would like to request Pending changes reviewer so we can review pending changes. I have made over 250 mainspace edits and have 500 total edits. Aikee Moral (talk) 13:39, 3 December 2025 (UTC)

I would like to request the rights to help review Pending Changes edits efficiently and speed up the review process. Bagwe Neza (talk) 14:49, 3 December 2025 (UTC)

I would like pending changes reviewer to review pending changes (and lower the backlog occasionally). Thank you. --pro-anti-air ––>(talk)<–– 23:52, 3 December 2025 (UTC)
Requests for rollback

Rollback

I’ve been patrolling recent changes consistently and have handled a substantial amount of vandalism. I also pending changes reviewing rights. Gaining rollback rights would allow me to respond more quickly and effectively, especially during spikes in vandalism, and would support the work I’m already doing. Shubhsamant09 (talk) 00:55, 14 November 2025 (UTC)

I've been handling vandalism for quite a while now, I have a chunk more than 1000 edit's the majority of which are dealing in vandalisum(the rest of witch are other simmalar activitys). I mainly use Ultraviolet and ocasionally twinkle but would like to try to use the tools that require rollback. Pyrrhic victor (talk) 15:14, 17 November 2025 (UTC)

I am requesting rollback after willingly giving up Twinkle, and more recently being suggested I request rollback. I believe Rollback would be beneficial to my patrolling of recent edits. Babysharkb☩ss2 I am Thou, Thou art I 14:40, 18 November 2025 (UTC)

I have been patrolling recent changes for a while. I currently use Ultraviolet when patrolling recent changes, but would like to try AntiVandal to expand my toolbox, which requires rollback. I use the standard warning templates with Ultraviolet, although I do have a set of "uw-0" style messages that I use occasionally. mdm.bla 03:21, 19 November 2025 (UTC)

I have been RC patrolling for over two months now. Clicking individual diff links to revert edits is very inefficient and unnecessary, and I believe having rollback could fix this. I've made over 200 edits to mainspace and have no history of edit warring. Seanwk :) (Talk | Contribs) 02:42, 20 November 2025 (UTC)

I am requesting rollback rights. I regularly revert vandalism and want to do it more efficiently. I understand how rollback works and will use it carefully. ACROM12 [TALK] 11:52, 24 November 2025 (UTC)

I have over 4,400 edits and have some good experience of reverting vandalism. I have patrolled the recent changes and have reverted some seemly bad faith edits. I have run into a few times where I would have liked to be able to revert the full vandalism someone made so I would like to have rollback rights to do so. Floating Orb Talk! my edits 22:22, 2 December 2025 (UTC)

I would like to request rollback to remove vandalism more efficiently. I have over 900 edits most of which are from RC patrol. I have no history of edit warring, and always warn users if they vandalise pages. I would like rollback rights to use AntiVandal. Thanks. SuperCode111 (talk) 00:46, 4 December 2025 (UTC)

Relatively experienced editor; 11+ years active, 6800+ edits, AfC reviewer, NPP reviewer. Realized I had never requested this right when I was doing some THIRD tasks. Happy to answer any questions. Thank you for your time! MWFwiki (talk) 06:38, 4 December 2025 (UTC)
Requests for template editor

Template editor

This is a non-traditional request as I'm a former admin who hasn't had any particular need to edit [protected templates since my desysopping (though I was a little surprised that I was able to make edits to stub templates like this_, but this user right might become useful to me soon. I'm interested in monitoring the output of the very new User :CSD U6 Bot (also see this discussion for background) and rather than asking for edits to its fully protected ignore list, I thought it would be easier if the page could be template-protected and I (and perhaps other non-admin template editors) could make additions to it). I started a discussion about this at User talk:CSD U6 Bot/Ignore list#Making this page template-protected, etc.? (feel free to contribute to it). The bot owner, Anomie, is unwilling to act unilaterally and sent me to this page, so here I am. When I was an admin I occasionally made accessibility-related edits to protected templates, like this case with fraction and conversion templates/modules. I have a healthy fear of editing highly used templates and would always test any changes in the ssandbox first. I'm one of only two importers and I have a strong and unique password for Wikipedia. Graham87 (talk) 15:22, 1 December 2025 (UTC)

Done as to the the permission request (leaving discussion of the protection level for elsewhere) since I trust you with template-editor perms and you previously were able to and sometimes did edit template-protected pages (and nobody took issue with your protected template editing when you lost that ability). ~ Jenson (SilverLocust 💬) 02:19, 2 December 2025 (UTC)
Requests for temporary account IP viewer

Temporary account IP viewer

Hi there! I've recently come out of retirement and have started doing some counter-vandalism work again, where this tool would be very useful. I have read and understand the access policy, but I absolutely get it if you would like me to wait more time "back" before gaining this right. I was trying to figure out yesterday whether Special:Contributions/~2025-37814-99 was the same as disruptive Special:Contributions/65.25.107.28, Special:Contributions/170.85.8.201 and Special:Contributions/2603:6013:1101:1A20:15F2:B24C:5AAD:6215 relying only on behaviour. I decided they were not the same after examining contributions but the decision would be easier with an IP. I also discovered today that, contrary to what I believed, users do not keep the same TA for 3 months. See e.g. [9][10][11]: it must be the same user and there is no obvious disruption that I can see (assuming they are a newbie unfamiliar with the process) but for some reason they have three separate accounts. Look at Talk:House_of_Monpezat#Proposal_to_move_the_page_to_"de_Laborde_de_Monpezat_family": one person supports the move and they have two TAs. Now look at Talk:Landing_Platform_Vessel_1#Requested_move_22_November_2025: are those two anonymous supports different people or the same person with two TAs? It's impossible to know without an IP, making assessing consensus in discussions more difficult without the TAIP viewer right. Thanks. Celia Homeford (talk) 11:09, 3 December 2025 (UTC)

Hiya. I’ve been a longtime editor over in the GENSEX topic area, and ever since temp accounts became a thing, we’ve had a lot of trouble with disruptive editors that are clearly the same person or else a previously sanctioned legacy IP pretending not to be in order to get away with unlimited reverts and sockpuppet talk page consensus. This is compounded by the fact that temp accounts were instated shortly after ARBTRANS was decided, which resulted in a number of accounts being sanctioned for their behavior in topic. Combine that with the fact that many of these temps are clearly *very* thoroughly versed and experienced in wikipedia policies, procedures, MOS, and informal etiquette, and it’s made GENSEX a hotzone against temp account disruption and sockpuppetry. Thus, I’d like to request access to this tool purely for the purposes of identifying temp accounts that are clearly the same person or else previous sanctioned legacy IP socks, so that I do not have to go through the long and juvenile process of constantly arguing “You’re clearly the same person”

Thank you.

Long time editor here. I've frequently looked at IP's to try to figure out if disruptive edits are coming from the person. Just this week I wanted to try to figure out if the potentially disruptive edits made these two, apparently linked, IP's (1,2), came from the same person as an apparently dispruptive temporary account that recently commented on the article's talk page.
