Aaah some cool things happened in the last couple of days.
First, I met my
getyourwordsout monthly goal!!! \o/ \o/ \o/ For the first time only with editing words :D (But again, like I recently mentioned, I'm adding missing scenes at the moment so nooot quite revisions only... But eeeeeh :D :D). This is only the third time it happened this year, and I barely went over the last couple of times so I'm still way behind on the yearly goal but I'm happpyyyy! I forgot how nice it feels to be on track XD I have one more "new" Shenanigans scene to write and then I need to hook back into a quieter moment I'd mostly written before...
Second, I'm finally past the halfway point for this round of revisions!! Obviously more scene mitosis might happen as things go on, but in general I seem to be firmly over the middle hump. Phew.
Third, the soul thief is now officially my longest project ever, at 62k words and counting D: :D I really, really hope the improvements on pacing I've felt are real because otherwise reading it will be hopping onto the struggle bus by the time it's finished. I think when it comes time to search for beta-readers (because this project will be completed!! Eventually surely certainly!!!), I'll just share the first two chapters to start with so potentially interested parties can figure out how much work might be ahead of them and/or if poly solarpunk(ish) hijinks is up their alley... Incidentally chapter two ends up with the setup for the main plot and kind of a cliffhanger so it should work out fun >:D Subtly warming people to the idea one year ahead of time..... lol
Anyway, this just feels like a good time. I'm still enjoying TrackBear, too. I've sliced my goals for the month into multiple goals (time, words, scenes, ...) and so I usually manage to see a bit of progress every day, which is nice.

And sometimes just being able to track that progress and see it happening is motivating.
