having no money when there are so many others in need is a real bitch.

the least I can do is pass on some information that will help. the story of Jaycee Lee Dugard has been fascinating me, and I can only imagine the pain and suffering they're all enduring right now. So I wanted to at least let people know there's a fundraising effort for them.

Soroptomist International of South Lake Tahoe has established a bank account to help Jaycee Dugard’s family get back on their feet. This Sunday, they'll be holding a pink ribbon parade at South Lake Tahoe to help raise money for the threesome.

To make a donation:

Bank of the West
Jaycee Dugard Family Fund
2161 Lake Tahoe Boulevard
South Lake Tahoe, CA 96150
Acct number: 186153508

Pink Ribbon Parade
Sunday, September 6th

I've been culling my book collection to find items to sell, since I'm still not working. :(

I had been holding on to a fantastic book I found (the only one that had been written at the time I needed to deal with this problem) on adult children whose parents divorce. It's called "A Grief Out of Season" and I highly recommend it.

My parents' divorce was over 10 years ago now, though, and I thought I'd pass the book on. Rather than take it to Half-Price Books like I have with so many others, I thought I'd see what it sells for on Amazon. I was shocked to discover that sales start at $75 and go up to $315! And these are for books which are sometimes described as in not-great condition!

So I've officially listed my first used book on amazon.com for sale. I'm charging less than the others, as they all seem to be businesses, but I'm trying to keep with the value of it too, since it's out of print. I'm so proud. *sniff sniff*

Mine's listed @ the top (probably because it's the cheapest). http://bit.ly/QRCLt

Tell a friend! Get a pic! Do a blog! :)

In April, my Service Engine Soon light came on. I had it cleared & they told me what it said. I was broke & waited to take it in fir fixing, and the light went off & has stayed off. Thank God.

A while ago, I noticed the light in my dash behind the dial of the ventillation system where I say if I want it to go to defrost, my feet, my head - that light is out. I had one of the others replaced a while ago & the dealer did it free - covered by warranty somehow. I think the warranty's up, & I can't afford to fix it, so I haven't seen anyone about it.

Tonight, I lost the light that illuminates my gear shift. It's an automatic and now, in the dark, I can't tell what gear I'm in. First leg of my trip, it started off, then as I was going 'wtf?' it came on. Stopped to let someone out (thereby going from D to P), and it went out again & wouldn't come back on. I'm going to have to see someone about this - it was quite difficult not knowing if I was in 1st, 2nd or D without driving off and figuring it out contextually, or shining a light on it.

I also need to go see a doc about my migraines.

I need to refigure how many hours I can work @ a PT job. In order to bring home as much as I do on unemployment I need to make $13.50 an hour. Buy I can supplement unemployment with PT job income until I get a FT job. Or I need to start dating a mechanic. Who's ... also a neurologist. ;)

Grrr. I hear frakking mice in my kitchen. Landlord can't get here soon enough for me!
