I'm back from my visit to my parent's place in California. It was a good visit, my mom threw us a little shindig to celbrate our engagement. Ben got to meet a lot of people that have known me since I was a baby... creepy. Either way, it was fun despite the fact that we both talked about the same thing to different people for three straight hours. And, here's a pic:

engagement party
Me and Ben fancied up for a party my mom threw for us to celebreate our engagement. |
While we were in Sacramento, we went to visit some potential wedding locals. I've got my head set on this whole garden wedding thing, which makes it complicated for having Ben's dad play piano in the ceremony.

Ben's dad tinkles the ivories at our engagement party, despite an injured finger. |
I'm starting to also realize how potentially expensive this could get.
I also got to try on wedding dresses after Ben left for PA. It was wierd going to a full on bridal salon and trying on dresses that were sometimes upwards of $2,000 (which is more than three times my dress budget), and then heading over to the Jessica McClintock store and putting on wedding dresses that were $400 tops. Heck I felt
like a fatty wierd trying on wedding dresses period. We also had so time before I had to fly out and went to a bridal outlet and I got an even better idea of the dress I want in the price range I want. But I've got plenty of time, so I'm not stressing about it.
Mas-mas went well, my grandparents are good for a laugh now that I don't take their antics to seriously. I got a bunch of DVDs and (we got) a power mixer which we've been wanting/whining for in the past few months. We also had a tasty ham dinner, and a rousing game of Trivial Pursuit.
All in all, a good visit. Although I think I was there too long.
kamsar picked me up from the airport last night, we hung out drank beer, ate pizza, and watched
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory to ring in the New Year. All the while Tigger was purring wildly on the back of the couch unprovoked. I think she was just happy to not be alone anymore.
