As you probably gathered, I've enabled cross-posting from weloveucp.com to this community. I hope this is a welcomed addition to those of you who still use LiveJournal regularly!

That said, this LiveJournal community is deprecated and has moved to weloveucp.com. No further updates or news posts (except for the truncated cross-posts) will be made to this LiveJournal. Furthermore, cross-posts will only work while inartistic has a paid account―not forever.

Please visit weloveucp.com for continued UNDER CODE PRODUCTION news updates. The site also has an extensive discography section (which is growing) and features occasional uploads. To assuage any fears: I have no intention of ever deleting this community or its entries, and posting access will remain open indefinitely.

Lately I've been forgetting to cross-post entries to this community when I post them at the main site. I just wanted to apologize for that and let you know that I'll try to be better about it.

That being said, I highly recommend you follow the main site (weloveucp.com) because it will be preferentially updated, and is planned to eventually replace this community altogether.

Admittedly, weloveucp.com is still in a beta state, but I'm improving it little by little every day. Even in its incomplete state, the extra functionality offered by running my own site rather than relying on LiveJournal is unbeatable. So, although I'll try to cross-post here more regularly (and am currently trying to figure out some way to do it automatically), you will still get timelier and more complete information by following the main site (either by checking it regularly, following its RSS feed, or following its twitter).

Here's where we are with the fan book: although the book was almost done, I had to freeze work on it because of a problem with my university research project. However, if someone translates the introduction message by tonight, I can place the order to have the book printed before tomorrow. It obviously won't arrive at UNDER CODE's office by March 1st, but it will arrive this month.

As I said, there's an introduction message to the book that needs to be translated into Japanese. Because each individual message can't be translated, we need at least this introductory message so UNDER CODE knows what the hell this book is about! If you are one of the people who offered to help, or if you have any translating ability at all, please help translate this message so that we can finish the book! (Even if someone has already translated it, multiple translations will only ensure that its meaning is clear.)

“WE LOVE UNDER CODE” is a community of foreign fans of UNDER CODE PRODUCTION. We have been active since 2004 and have over 1,300 members throughout the world.

March 1st, 2012 is UNDER CODE PRODUCTION's 9th anniversary, and that is an important event. Hastily, we decided to show our support for UNDER CODE PRODUCTION, and our happiness that it has lasted for 9 years. So, we created this “fan book” project, which is called 「RIOT GALE of NINE YEARS」.

This fan book collects messages and fan art from members of “WE LOVE UNDER CODE”, to celebrate UNDER CODE's anniversary. Because this book was conceived at the last minute, not all members could participate, and the messages could not be translated into Japanese. However, even in a different language, we hope that the meaning of this book may become clear: we love UNDER CODE.

All current and previous bands, artists, designers, and staff, thank you for 9 years of great work. Even after this time, UNDER CODE is still a top-class record label which represents the highest form of “visual kei”. Let's howl with the 「RIOT GALE of NINE YEARS」 and race toward 「UNDER CODE the FIRST DECADE」!

Of course, the translation doesn't have to be exact, as long as it makes sense and conveys the message. I know it's a lot to ask, but I really hope someone will step up and help with this. Thank you in advance to anyone who does!

Hello everyone~

A thought crossed my mind earlier today and so I have a couple questions to ask. How many of your are planning on buying NEGA's album VANITAS? I know I will be (still debating which type though) but for those of you who are, here's my next question:

What do you think about combining it into one order? The reason I ask this is because of the special privileges:
1) If you buy two types, you get the Making of their PV as well as a comment DVD.
2) When  you spend over 7000yen on an order you can choose which band DVD comment + a performance from their Kansai Seiatsu live.

So...I'm really not sure how you want to combine the orders? Depending on what people will buy? I was planning on buying NEGA photoset(s) as well. Suggestions?

I know there's also shipping costs and shopping service fee to look at too, but if anyone knows of a cheap site please let me know! ( I normally use this --> http://japanauction.byethost11.com/ and I haven't had any bad experiences so far :] )

Any suggestions, comments, feedback of any kind are more than welcomed! ^__^

UNDER CODE entered 2011 in a bit of a transitory state. Megaromania was only half active, NEGA was on hiatus, E'm ~grief~ had just disbanded, Arc and Synside were set to disband, and HEISEI ISHIN vocalist Taku had just died. After having, in my opinion, its worst year in 2010, UNDER CODE started 2011 in a low spot.

If you'd like, I thought we could take a look back at 2011, to remember that bumpy beginning, but also to see how the label moved past it.

So here we are at the beginning of 2012. The label has its new Big Three, and every one of its smaller bands are genuinely great. Furthermore, and shockingly, this is the first time in recent years that the label entered the new year without mass disbandments.

There's no telling what the future holds, but this is the brightest New Year that UNDER CODE has had in a long time. I don't want to jinx it, but I'm hopeful, I'm really hopeful, for the label's future.

And I'm also hopeful for our future. In this past year I really felt the community aspect of WE LOVE UNDER CODE grow (and I hope that you did too!). In 2012, I hope to see it grow even more. I hope to see this community grow in numbers, I hope to see it grow in reach, and I hope to see it grow in purpose.

The future may be uncertain, but I'm excited to face it with my little Chikasen family. WE LOVE UNDER CODE!

I'd also like to tell you guys that the β version of the site is now live. This means that, although there are still tons of functions to add, features to refine, and errors to fix, the site should be stable enough for you guys to take a look. The blog and membership functions are what I'm focusing on initially. As of now, I'd say that they're about 60% complete—enough that I'll begin simultaneously posting entries there as I post them here.

And as such, I'm hoping that the brave among you will go ahead and register at the new site, and begin reading and commenting there. This LiveJournal community isn't going anywhere soon, but it will eventually be replaced by the new site, so it would be great to move some of the activity over there.

Well, as I said, it's still in the very early β stages (better than the α that some of you saw though!). I'll make some sort of big official post when it's farther along—and then, hopefully, it can replace this LiveJournal and make the UNDER CODE fan community even closer (and bigger!) than it is now.

Hello everyone! gyakutai and I have come up with a little contest, which I hope will be really fun. As you may have guessed from the title, it's a trivia contest, and this is how it works:

KING of UNDER CODE TRIVIA

Each day, I'll present one trivia question in the form of a survey, which will be based on the label, its bands, or this community. Each person to answer the question will receive 1 point. Additional points can be earned in other ways (community participation -related), and will be announced later.

At the end of every week, the three community members with the highest scores will be announced here and on twitter (@we_love_ucp), and will be listed in under_code's sidebar and userinfo. Those members will also receive a small prize.

The contest will end after 4 weeks. The member with the highest number of total points will be crowned winner and, again, announced here and on twitter, and recognized on the sidebar and userinfo of this community. The overall winner will also receive a bigger present, details TBA.

P.S., you can find most, if not all of these answers with 30 seconds of google-fu, but that's not really the point. It's much more fun if you just answer with the knowledge you already have! So please be genuine!

1. I just renewed the community's paid status, so no more gross ads on posts, and you can post polls, etc. again.

The results were not at all predictable! From the beginning, tracklist #6 had a huge lead over the others. But in the end, tracklist #2 (the winning one) pulled ahead with a clear margin. It seems that tracklist #2 best represents the quality and variety of music at UNDER CODE PRODUCTION. (It's interesting to note that almost every song from that tracklist has a PV—I wonder if that had anything to do with it.)

Many of you participated, over 50 of you voted, and every tracklist got at least one vote, so I definitely consider this contest a success. Many many thanks to all of you, I really appreciate it. This makes me want to hold more contests in the future! (And if you have any cool ideas, feel free to share them.)
