Off topic: recruiting staff?!
I've been mulling this over lately, and I think it's time to put out some feelers:
Would any of you be interested in becoming staff for this community? If so, read on ↓

People have asked in the past to become moderators here, but I never really saw the need. However, now that LiveJournal has introduced the owner-level status (yay me!), I have the ability to make people maintainers, without the worry that they'll usurp me in a fit of rage. So thanks to that, I've been seriously considering asking for some help around here. What kind? Well~
Things I would expect of a staff member: that you actually like UNDER CODE PRODUCTION, that you actually enjoy this community, and that you be active as both staff and a regular member (which shouldn't be a problem if you actually enjoy it). Things you would get as a staff member: a mention in the userinfo, and a post about you, but that's about it! It's not about perks, it's about being an important part of a community that you love.
TL;DR version: I don't need moderators; I do need maintainers, and people with ideas. I'll be just as active, but you would help me fill in the gaps. Only those who like UCP, like this community, and would be active need apply.
P.S., I'm also considering allowing staff member(s) to share the @we_love_ucp twitter account. I'm not so sure on that one, but maybe someone would be really interested in doing that. We'll see!

If you're seriously interested, just comment! We'll talk, see if it feels right, and I'll decide.
And I hope to God that someone is interested, or this will be a major foreveralone.gif post BD ~cool dude~

First of all, the kind of help I don't need: I don't need help posting news; everyone is allowed to post news here. So if you'd like to do that, please go ahead, no maintainer status needed :D! I also don't need moderators per se; everyone here is pretty cool, and any arguments that crop up can usually be cooled down.
Now, the help that I do need! I need help maintaining the community. This might include things like updating the userinfo when a band leaves the label, or adding tags to a post that lacks them. It might include updating the link directory or the shopping guide. It may include asking UNDER CODE -related communities to affiliate, or cutting deleted journals from the member list. So on and so forth.
I also need help bettering the community. One of the main reasons I'd like a staff member is to have someone to consistently exchange ideas with. For example, I like doing contests and fun things with the community, but I'm shit at coming up with ideas for them. It would also be nice to hear ideas on entirely new features; maybe you think the community needs a UCP birthday calendar, or maybe we should do review posts, etc..
I'm not looking for someone to do all of these things alone. I will still be performing all of these duties, day in and day out, because I genuinely enjoy them. However, I recognize that, trying to do all of these things alone, I can't produce the best quality work. So I'm hoping that someone who also enjoys these sorts of things will be willing to do them with me.
