Just join, give a bit about my self (check my profile for the nitty-gritty): I enjoy fantasy a lot, but that's pretty general. Amongst my favorites at this time is Inuyasha and Harry Potter. I guess that's all I've got to say at the moment.

Ok, I've been editing my info page again, cleaning it up a bit you might say, adding new interests, deleting friends who haven't written anything in a long time, and I'm going to be bold (cruel?) here and say there is no point in me being a member anymore. I bow out. Sorry my lovelies. I for one am too lazy to contribute anything else here. If it picks up again, let me know :P

Hey y'all. I do believe this is my first post here. :) Well, I read a lot of fanfiction based on sci-fi shows, especially lately. I find myself really attached to characters on these shows and love reading more about them. What do you guys think about fanfic?

Speaking of fanfiction, am reading a book of essays done by sci-fi and fantasy writers. It's all about how Tolkien influenced them and their writing. It's really interesting. So far, this has been my favourite quote:

Already, as I admit this, I can feel the circle of new, anxious but friendly faces around me: "My name is Terry and I used to draw dwarf runes in my school notebooks. It started with, you know, the straight ones, everyone can do them, but then I got deeper and before I knew it I was doing the curly elf ones with the dots. Wait ... there's worse. Before I'd even heard the word 'fandom' I was writing weird fan fiction. I wrote a crossover story setting Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice in Middle-earth; the rest of the kids loved it, because a class of thirteen-ear-old boys with volcanic acne and groinal longings is not best placed to appreciate Miss Austen's fine prose. It was a really good bit when the orcs attacked the rectory ..."

Me again...

Back to me, seeing as I’m running out of interesting topic, I’m going to switch to my obsession Star Wars.
I was reading on another community that for the original trilogy they are going to revamp it. Putting in more new footage, fixing some of the mistakes and add stuff to link it to the first three. All I hope is that the changes are slight and don’t wreck them.

FF movie...

Final Fantasy, one of the best games, I think would make a great movie. I know there is already a movie called final fantasy, but it didn’t have anything to do with the game, the title lured people to see it by making them think it was a new FF story. Though the movie was a first total cg and did have a decent storyline!!!
I’m talking about a movie that is actually about the characters from the game, from any one of the ff, I think FFX would be a great one.

Underworld...

Underworld is coming out in Australia very soon and I plan to see it, with a friend I can drag along or by myself if needs be!
As far as I can gather, from reviews I’ve read and previews, it looks really good.
One reviewer, I think if my memory serves me correctly, described it as the Matrix with fangs.
I know most vampire/werewolf movies are pretty crappy, with either ban special effects or a was to obvious story line. I juts hope Underworld lives up to my expectations.

Welcome to the Twilight Zone

I don't really have anything to say but I felt like I should make an addition since I am party of this community, and Askew is getting sick of talking to herself. I'm too tired to even remember what sort of things we are supposed to write about here. How about Sci-fi & Fantasy books? I love them, especially teen fiction because it is easy to read & leaves out all the crap, pointless details. My favourite author at the moment is Tamora Pierce but I also like Garth Nix & Philip Pullman. The later 2 I started reading because they were on our reading list for one of our TAFE subjects. I am eagerly awaiting Abhorsen to be released in small format paperback so that I can finish the trilogy. I had a friend tell me the other day that when he picks up a book he likes to read it as fast as he can so he can find out what happens, but he's always sad when he's finished. I feel exactly the same way ;)

Twilight Banner

Finally after much shifting around of files I have the banner uploaded, its a similar design to the background, though I think I might change it and create something more personalized to the community
