(LEGAL) DISCLAIMER: I am not a doctor let alone YOUR doctor, I have no qualifications and am not a medical professional whatsoever. The content posted on @yourfaveisintersex and my related side blogs @cah-culture-is and @hypogonadism-culture-is are NOT intended to be official medical advice, consultation, or diagnosis, and I would strongly recommend going to your doctor for any genuine medical concerns. I am a layman who has an interest in learning about intersexuality and helping/teaching others with what I have learned because of the lack of well-researched or respectful information and care of individuals who identify as intersex or otherwise have variation in sex characteristics (VSC). In addition, I advise you to not treat me as a monolith for intersex education as I am always someone who is prone to being incorrect, and I heavily encourage you to do your own independent research.

β€’-> Obligatory "don't be a dick" rule. Being whatever -isms, -phobics/-misics, and other asshole behavior in my notes is not allowed. I have opinions of my own as well, but we're gonna at least *try* to stay discourse-free here. Be tolerant if not outright nice. Everyone is allowed here otherwise yes perisex/endosex/dyadic people included, but try to be respectful and (metaphorically) wipe your feet and take your shoes off before entering.

β€’-> Queue currently posts five (5) times a day, assuming there's anything in there. If you haven't seen your request yet, be patient! Though please feel free to (respectfully) poke me or resend your request if it's been a while, I'm a single brain and sometimes they get lost or maybe I don't feel like doing one at *that* particular point in time for no discernable reason, and need a fresh pair of eyes.

β€’-> If you send a request off anon, you will be tagged in the post's text by default! Please tell me if you do not want this! If you would like to be mentioned on a sideblog, tag it in the ask. Do note that if I notice you have my main blog blocked, I likely won't fulfill your request. You can send asks that aren't requests as well, and they don't have to be intersex-related. Ramble in my inbox about whatever, show me your pets, I don't care.

β€’-> I encourage you to elaborate when you send in your headcanons! What's their variation, do they have any other identity labels they use (intersex-exclusive/related or not!), their pronouns, etcetera.

β€’-> No real people, no religious characters directly lifted from the source. Real people representing fictional characters (i.e. live action) are okay, parodies of the latter are as well. Real-life people themselves as characters in fictional media are on thin ice and will be tagged as "#hamilton rule".

β€’-> Canon and coded intersex characters are allowed to be sent in and encouraged! Please specify if, where, and how their intersex identity presents!! (link) I want to prevent accidental switcheroos where I claim canonicity when there isn't or vice versa.

Marla Singer from Fight Club is intersex and an IGM survivor, and her variation is Complete Androgen Insensitivity Syndrome (CAIS)!

The requester elaborates: β€œ when her and the narrator are discussing which support groups they should get to go to, she says she should go to the testicular cancer support group instead of him because β€œ[he] still has [his] balls.” i know this could be her or the writers wording it poorly, but the usage of the word β€œstill” makes me think she might’ve had them at some point but they were removed. iirc, she probably would say that she has testicular feminization syndrome instead though, since that’s what it was called at the time ”

Nicholas "Nick" Arsenio Birch from Big Mouth is canonically intersex-coded, and he has a delayed puberty, transient gynecomastia, and a micropenis!

The requester elaborates: β€œ At some point, he temporarily winds up with a hormone monstress instead of monster (female instead of male hormone creature). He questions it "is this normal", "am i the only boy with a Hormone Monstress", "is something wrong with me" etc. He goes back and forth between trying to embrace it and being super upset by it. During this time, he starts growing breasts, which is super distressing for him. He also experiences intersexist bullying from friends and family alike. Even before being shamed for his chest he experiences peer shaming for having a small penis and being a late bloomer, as well as internal turmoil and shame. ”

Juniper from Fields of Mistria is an intersex trans woman ANB (link) and canonically bisexual, and her variation is non-disclosed! She only shares that her variation is what makes her so beautiful.

hii i just wanted to say thank you for this blog! if it weren't for you and many other intersex posters on here, i never would've discovered i was intersex. i have clitoral aplasia and i always just thought i was dumb for not being able to find it, due to all the "men can't find the clit" jokes lol. but turns out i just don't have one! and seeing it be talked about by people online really helped.

you also helped me accept that it does indeed make me intersex. when i first figured it out i spent a few hours considering if i wanted to call myself intersex or not, because i didn't know if such a "small" variation was even worth labeling, yk? but seeing all the positivity you spread about being intersex and even that specific variation made me much more comfortable to, and now i'm extremely happy in this community!

thank you for all that you do, even if it's just for the most part posting silly characters with labels people request, you're helping many people find themselves! :) stay safe and happy friend, you're loved!

thank yoooou :^) I always wish I have more to say in response to asks sometimes even if it doesn't really matter as much as I think it does. But I really do always appreciate these sort of stories in my inbox even if I can't say something in particular. Like this is another someone who may influence someone else to identify as intersex... and to be hornets I do enjoy looking at a blog in my notifications and seeing "intersex" (or an adjacent label like extersex mesosex perintersex etc) in their bio I consistently go Fuck Yea Hell Yea about it

This is a well-meaning question I swear because I'm curious on why PMDD is classified as intersex, according to you? And why PMS in comparison is not? I'm not saying it's not I'm just curious as to why it classifies

PMS effects, like, a broad swathe of people who have a menstrual cycle and is considered a very typical experience...? I slot PMDD as intersex adjacent on this blog as there really isn't a whole lot of information out there to catagorize it under the umbrella more confidently in my opinion, but it's reported to be commonly caused by atypical reactions to and/or amounts of sex hormones? Usually like hyperestrogenism or vaguely progesterone stuff or whatever I recall. Thus why people like to include it under the intersex umbrella?

Emily from Class of '09 is intersex-coded, transfeminine, and canonically bisexual, and her variation is unidentified with ambiguous genitalia! She is also canonically neurodivergent with ADHD and an unspecified condition, described as a mood disorder and implied to be BPD, bipolar disorder, or schizophrenia.

The requester elaborates: β€œ Part of why she's in constant conflict with her mom is that her mom didn't want a daughter, she wanted a son, causing Emily to crash out hard enough her mom only stopped bugging her about it out of fear she'd make Emily's (heavily implied to be Borderline) canonical mood disorder worse. Part of her crush on Nicole is that when she sleeps over at Nicole's house and Nicole sees her bulge (for the canon blind, Emily didn't bring PJs so she slept in her undies), she doesn't give a shit or treat her differently. Since Emily bonds with/hates people very rapidly and intensely, that sealed the deal for her that Nicole was someone she loved. ”

Ms. Valerie Frizzle from The Magic School Bus is an intersex trans woman, and her variation is Klinefelter Syndrome (Trisomy XXY)!

The requester @quailfence elaborates: β€œ She's very open about her variation and enjoys educating others on sex and gender issues, especially her students! ”

WAIT WAIT WAIT βœ‹οΈ... Valerie? 😟 Where was this revealed? Or is it headcanon? 🀨

Names of characters are never headcanon names unless indicated of courseβ€” it's an error on my end otherwise, in which case let me know so I can correct it ASAP. From a quick glance at fandom references it's revealed in the books, specifically "In the Time of Dinosaurs"! (link)
