caden asked my thoughts on the gangsey and art movements and i decided to share them here too, except keep in mind: i am not studying art history or anything of the sort, i am simply declan kinnie <3 but:
1) blue sargent as romanticism. something about replacing era of cold paintings with something deeply "sensibly" emotional and spiritual...
2) gansey as baroque. very deep feelings, very dramatic. but also. something about one of more important characteristics being. that in each there is a crack of light falling on the painting. smth. gansey being this light in the dark background for others. game of shadows and lights. mhm.
3) maybe a bit controversial but adam impressionism? something about the focus of this movement being spilling thoughts and feelings through nature and the world surrounding us. and the main focus being how light changes the day? feels so symbolic to me as for adam?
4) okay. cliche this time but. ronan as surrealism, yep. dreams, nightmares, magic within dreams and subconscious. no thoughts and no RULES. (freud being part of-)
5) a tad sad but noah as abstract expressionism. unstructured. brushes of paints without decent form, shape. wild and deep but nothing of shape.
6) henry as rococo. except, also, i really think– neoclassicsm. one being the answer on another, joy against tight structures, legacy of his mother and sides of coin. but yeah, rococo is where he lies, essentially. i think.

The “just girls?” “No, not just girls” scene in soc is way funnier to me if it’s fem!wesper bc in my mind fem!Wylan has short hair and is generally fairly masc presenting (I’ve got like 5 different reasons why she would have short hair after Van Eck tried to kill her but that’s another post) and so fem!Jesper essentially looks the most beautiful masc woman she’s ever seen in the eye and goes “wow it’s too bad you can’t talk to boys with equations huh”
Turns out 2 aroacespec ppl who are also both neurodivergent and have struggled to form close friendships becoming extremely close friends means flipping wildly between “wow this feels like something straight out of a slow burn best friends to lovers fanfic I’m going insane” and “yeah this is definitely platonic but in a Ronan and Gansey way NOT a casual way” and lemme tell you it is NOT for the weak
