hey! i’m nix or starburst/starb, and this is my art blog!! he/him, love/loves, or star/stars and i’m 21. i’m a marginalized artist and cartoonist with a passion for my original characters and stories! i almost exclusively draw furries and original content. i like drawing cutesy stuff, romantic scenes, or object characters like pool toys! i’m also an aspiring animator with a hope of pursuing a career in it one day! thanks for checking out my art, any engagement helps out a ton!!

as a general warning, i have stories that involve topics like murder, violence, abuse, and paranoia. as such, i occasionally post works with darker themes, as it's something that's important to me in my own art. i try to tag anything that could be upsetting, but if i miss anything feel free to let me know! feel free to also block the tags #not art and #self rb if you only want to see my individual pieces.

quick addendum i want to add: in most cases i am more than happy to draw fanart or fan OCs for clients! i've been on a bit of a warrior cats kick lately so i'd absolutely LOVE the chance to draw anything for that, pony characters are also similarly near and dear to my heart. i won't draw everything, but you're welcome to ask if you're not sure!

i'm getting close to another follower milestone (not that i care abt the numbers but its always an excuse to do something silly lol), would people be interested in me taking asks to be answered in character by my OCs? i'd turn anons back on for it, and i'd probably give like a list of my stories and characters so people don't have to go searching. mostly i'm just curious if anyone would send anything in! ^_^

here's some doodles i did last night and colored just now! this is iris, who's just a version of iridectomy that actually got to grow up. this is for my "normal" AU of grievance, where they're all just regular people instead of gods :)

ALSO see some pixel art i made today. i've started using retroachievements as an excuse to play more old stuff (especially since my computer wont run most modern games anymore), buuut you cant actually set your pfps as Moving gifs on there and i didnt realize that beforehand... oh well the second image here was me playing around with this webtool that's a fully functional pixel art animation software that simulates the phosphors of a CRT screen (!!!) and it's REALLY really cool and i just wanted an excuse to show it to people. i think its a really good way of seeing the difference between older and newer pixel art, and the way that higher contrast and defined shapes was just so so important on older screens (look at the complete loss of detail on starb's face vs the clearer lines on his body!)

#this has more notes than some of my other art so i guess i should put it here too LOL

WOW!! thank you all for so many notes on this one, that's way more than what i'm used to and i wasn't expecting people to like this one so much!!! even hatena (the little character here) is surprised!

for anyone who misses flipnote and hatena (the service, not my character), you should check out sudomemo! they have a guide for setting up flipnote and connecting to their servers, if you have a homebrewed DSi, 3DS, or 2DS you can get it working pretty easy!!
