I HAVE to reblog this eleven million note post. That’s the most notes I’ve ever seen on tumblr. Also my name is Jade, not Amanda.

Imagine Grace defined his name as the elegance definition of grace and Rocky spends years thinking how fucking ironic this clumsy leaky space blobs name is.

Until Grace slips out a sentence along the lines of "could you give me a little grace here" and Rocky immediately points out he used a word wrong so Grace has to explain that yeah, grace means elegance but it can also mean mercy sometimes too.

And Rocky has to suddenly reconcile that the clumsy leaky blob that saved his life twice, that almost certainly doomed himself to come back for him, name is Mercy.

Anyone else thinking about how Important names are to Eridian culture, considering how Rocky addressed himself and Adrian, and what that would mean once Grace got to Erid. (ignore statements of time i refuse to do the conversions)

Imagine, after decades of your world becoming colder and colder, you are saved. A single Eridian, the only one of twenty three to survive, arrives in an alien ship, accompanied by a creature you can barely conceive.

Everything about the alien is so loud, hinges formed from tissue thumping and stretching in constant movement, even while unconscious. Completely organic, reliant of oxygen and hydrogen. Instead of a protective carapace, it regrows its damaged tissues. It has senses you do not, and technology so unlike your own, both able to utilise a force you have never heard of. The same force that killed almost your entire mission team. Highly adaptable, able to teach itself how to fly its ship in under a week, able to become fluent in the engineer's dialect in less than four years.

And if Erid's best engineer is correct (and there's no reason it wouldn't be), this creature not only managed to breed a predator of the warmth-taker to survive in various atmospheres, including Threeworld's, but also turned around to provide aid when it discovered that the predator could escape xenonite.

And you think: Surely, this creature which protects itself without a carapace, which sleeps so lightly and knows so much and learns so quickly, which saved two planets at the cost of ever returning to its thrum, surely, a creature so extraordinary must have a name to match

And you think: Perhaps it is strength, Mountain-Base or Lonsdaleite-Carapace. Perhaps it is intellect, Diamond-Claw or Lockpick-Mind. Perhaps it is courage, Song-Through-Silence or Path-Carver

And you think: None of these names hold the true weight of what this creature is to them. How do you describe something like that, which aids without expectation of anything in return, which risks its own life for the sake of a species it cannot touch, which performs miracles simply because it was asked.

And then you learn: Your saviour's name is Kindness

k but imagine Rocky wanting to learn about how humans became the apex predators of their planet so he has Grace “hunt” him in the biodome as an experiment and during it he thinks Grace isn’t trying or taking it seriously which is bad bad bad because this is for research purposes

only for Rocky to get more and more tired as the experiment goes on just to realize that Grace isn’t which makes him panic so he puts as much distance as he can between them and finds a (hopefully) safe spot to sleep and when he wakes up the human is crouching over him like “got youuu” and Rocky has never shrieked so damn loud before in his life

rocky will be the first to realize what's going on - he can hear grace's heart slowing down

How many headmates front in your system? We tend to have 15+ at most times, this happens when we're stressed but there are times where it's calming and it's about the same. It's kind of become our normal to have so many people up front.

This is more directed at polyfrag systems but I don't mind if other traumagenic systems answer this!

we normally have at least tenish+ people... It's Weird but if we drop below about five people we normally feel weird and under stimulated.

We one time had like twentyish people (counting Fragments) at front and got so dizzy and blurry we had a hard time functioning.

Oh yeah! If we go past 25+, it gets really messy and blurry up front. I'm so glad we're not the only system to experience the double digits in who fronts.

I also totally understand that feeling of being understimulated if the fronting hub is low in numbers. It just feels wrong.

especially with our ADHD we get understimulated it's like

"Hey can more people front? It's too fucking quite up here"

For us it varies wildly- on a calm day we usually have between 2 and like 10-15 ish people in front, but all things depending we can easily get into the double digits but by then it’s usually pretty blurry and we can’t really distinguish as well between who is and isn’t in front

You can say papa you don’t have to say mother and father. Like I know you call someone father in source but please. Nobody else does this aside from maybe Freminet but they’re not in front frequently
