“chocolate guy” is currently shilling for harry potter so i better not see yall post his shit anymore. anyone who engages with that shit especially for money is scorched earth as far as i’m concerned.

Came right up when I searched it, unfortunately

because of the new tv show. and it’s only going to get worse as we get closer to the show’s release. take notice of it — who’s advertising, who’s talking about it, who’s encouraging you to watch it. it’s going to keep happening. there’s going to be more chocolate guys, more nicholas hoults, more kiera knightleys.

take no shit. give rowling an inch and she’ll take a mile. i don’t care how much you like or don’t like someone — if you see them interacting with harry potter positively in ANY way, drop them. unfollow, block, pretend they don’t exist. scorched fucking earth.

and most importantly, be loud about your support for transfems. be transfeminists. be mean about it. fight with people about it. block liberally. download shinigami eyes. read transfeminist theory. provide material and monetary support for dolls who need it, especially the trans women of color in your communities. show them that they’re loved. don’t look away.

I'm at a convention for the game of Go with a friend who is almost 84 years old, and he is constantly being accosted by elementary schoolers who want to play him because every year there is a prize for whoever plays a game with the biggest age difference between players.

So every time I go to look for him, I see this:

People in the tags pointing out that this is a great way to get communities to interact: you are extremely correct. There were a lot of kids at this year's go congress (many of them extremely strong players) and it's very funny to watch them roving in packs looking for old people to challenge. At one point when my friends and I were sitting in one of the side rooms, a trio of elementary schoolers marched in and shouted "IS ANYONE HERE OVER FIFTY?"

Presumably so that they could compete for the Elder Slayer award:

I have faith in them I think they were competing for Dan Destroyer and had identified over 50s as most likely to be dan-level

yesterday i had a nice southern teenager call me "ma'am" and then look at me and go, in a well-meaning tone, "uhhhh, if you go by ma'am. sorry if not." and i had to be like yeah man ma'am is fine. appreciate you being inclusive though. i could almost see the little warning pop up in his UI-- hold up! people with blue hair often have pronouns. are you sure you want to address this individual with a gendered term?

Hello white artist. In front of you is a piece of paper and a container containing every color and utensil you'd ever need to make a drawing. In order to leave the room and keep the container, you must complete the task. Your task? Draw a Black character without giving them straight hair, eurocentric facial features, gray skin, skin lighter than a paper bag, palms that are the same color as the rest of their skin, unrealistic eye color(s), donut lips, a red/pink blush, or pink nipples. If you fail to complete the task, you will be mauled to death by a pack of painted dogs. There is no time limit, but if you moan about how it's too hard to draw Black characters, it will automatically trigger the dogs to be released. Good luck.

shakespeare wasn't lying that tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow can creep in this petty pace from day to day

neither was Smash Mouth. the years start coming and they don't stop coming

the leftist “it’s fictional and anti censorship to not ban anything on ao3” mindset is to tumblr what the “actually she’s 500 years old she just LOOKS like a child” is to twitter/reddit

I really do wish at least some of you carried the anti-censorship sentiment outside of blorbo torture porn fanfiction or whatever. Like whistleblowers and journalists being arrested or killed. Or books being banned or destroyed. As in, actual things that are happening in the real world.

I have not once seen “anti-censorship” being brought up here in regard to real world things that actually matter. It’s all blorbo torture porn fanfiction. I don’t think you can rightfully get too mad about people fussing over fictional content when you yourself seemingly only hold the stances you do to defend your questionable tastes in fiction
