did you watch The Odyssey?
I decided not to go the theater to watch it because I was genuinely disappointed by every trailer I watched and after seeing a lot more of it through leaked footage I‘m very glad about my decision.
I know that many people argue that the odyssey is fiction and there is no set truth/ original, and Nolan is telling a version of a story, but I dislike everything about it.
It‘s still a story from a very real culture with a very real history, even though the story is a fictional one. And that history is nowhere to be seen.
The cast and the costumes are way too Hollywood and not even the slightest bit leaning towards historical accuracy.
The plot feels like a trauma/ptsd story and not one of hubris.
It‘s also smaller things like having the most beautiful woman in the world and her sister played by the same actress. That makes no sense at all.
Nolan obviously knows how to make the movies he makes look very good, but that’s just not good enough for me to actually enjoy it.
I stick to the book :)

I find it so attractive when someone talks about what they’re passionate about. Seriously they could be rambling on about how much they love ducks, or about something I don’t even understand. Just that tone of excitement and passion in their voice is enough to make me like them 5 times more than I already do.
