But I am genuinely falling off the rpf side of things. Trust
There are obviously a lot of labor things in kpop that are uniquely and specifically bad. But there are also so many things that get sensationalized that are also a problem in western music (which is not me saying they’re fine!!! I’m saying this should not be happening anywhere!!!) like you learn that Jungkook debuted when he was 15 and Kpop idols are in debt to their companies for years sometimes and it’s like woah!!! That’s evil as fuck. And then you look at western music and it’s like. Hey Hayley Williams signed a 20 year contract when she was 14 years old and western artists are in horrible debt to their record labels as well.
Specifically I’m thinking of the idea that all kpop music is surgically produced and written by people who are not the performers, which is also fairly standard in western pop music. Western artists maybe get some flack for this but I think that for Asian artists this critique is specifically weaponzied in a racist way, like this ohhhh all these Asians who look the same also sound the same and might as well be mass produced in a factory really rubs me the wrong way for reasons that I hope are obvious
Hard to articulate the complex dynamic between weird xenophobic interpretations of the kpop industry and groups and individuals and genuine shitty practices and widespread effects of capitalism on entertainment at large and the prevailing effects of imperialism. And of course how they relate to my boy band of choice
Anyways I’m coming to a point in my bts fandom where I don’t really care about them as people (blorbos i suppose) as much but I do still love their music. Which is more embarrassing in some ways

Instead of continuing through the five stages of grief I’ve decided to just stop at stage one
it’s been 20 minutes but the population of fort denial has seen a major uptick
so fun how as a tenant you just have to double check everything your landlord says against the actual law because they WILL demand money from you for repairs you legally are not responsible for. why do I need to be an expert in tenant's rights in order to not be exploited. why are there no consequences for landlords who lie to their tenants in order to extract more money from them
Suicide ideation is so weird. Making a lovely apple pie while thinking of bleeding out in the tub.
Yoonjin If someone asks me about a bangtan ship that has the potential to be real I would say them lol They're so relaxed and calm around eo They don't talk much but when they do .. phew Idk where exactly it's either its or bv where they had the TALK Listening to that I knew they really sit down and talk when it's needed Jin is a lot more free with him the walls do come down for yg And the light hearted flirting he loves flustering him That's one unique bond
Ooooooo I think I know the one you’re talking about, the one where Yoongi talks about his regrets and Jin tells him he doesn’t have to think that way or smth it is very good. I like how much Jin enjoys tormenting everyone I subscribe to the theory that he was half the members’ gay awakening
