Your Local Changeling

@moonlitmasque / moonlitmasque.tumblr.com

Why do I have skin, muscle, teeth, hair, bone, eyes, fingers, hands....

Why am I stuck in a specific vessel, a form with expectations and fears?

Why am I always a "him," a "he?"

Why am I so specific in my image?

Why can't I be free of being hated, feared, of being something so.... particular?

Why can't I change into something better?

Why can't I change into something beautiful, something that can be more than one thing?

Why do I exist, and why does my body be specific?

My eyes are the most unique, and they only LOOK like they can change.

Dogday.

Look at me.

Think about him.

He smokes the red like it's the only thing he has.

He always seems detached.

And he's been going to Dr. P for YEARS.

The math is written out, and it's basic 2+2.

I invented a new trend called “drink sleepy tea and go to bed”

It's just a fad, it'll pass.

Its a shame sleepy tea doesnt help me sleep. Fucked up brain chemistry makes the sleepy chemicals actually the awakey chemicals.

Work out.

It'll make you exhausted as hell.

the best death note joke format will forever be L asking light a simple question in which logical answer A might increase the likelihood of light being kira and logical answer B similarly might increase the likelihood of light being kira and after a short internal struggle light comes up with answer Y, which no human being has ever thought of as being a normal response in all of living history

the "what are your pronouns" comic is my fave example.

For those unfamiliar, or simply wanting to see it again:

Counterpoint: I'm ace but they were already hot, have you SEEN the yaoi?

Sorry, I tried, but I’m genuinely incapable of finding yaoi hot. I know, I’m disappointed in myself too.

Honestly, it'd probably seem hotter to lesbians and straight guys (and other degrees of girlkisser), but as yaoi it's hot to queers and straight girls (and other degrees of boykissers.)

Whaaaaaaaaat?

Who would want such a TERRIBLE thing to happen to some poor, innocent politician?

That's WEEEEEEEEIIIIIIIRD.

.... Okay, seriously, officially against it, but if it somehow happens, it is not my problem.

Hey, you, gay cook, trans cook, queer over all in general cook. Gimme your chilli recipe. Cishet cooks are allowed if you're really good and your Cajun friends agree.

I like my chili spicy, so warnings in advance to anyone who makes this.

Ingredients

  • 2 Onions
  • 2 Jalapenos
  • 1 Red Fresno Pepper
  • Throw another type of pepper in there if I'm feeling it. As long as it's not like a bell pepper.
  • At least 3 cloves of garlic. You can never have too much
  • 1.5-2 lb ground beef (Can replace with cubed beef if feeling fancy)
  • 2/3 tbsp garlic powder
  • 7/6 (1/2 + 2/3) tbsp chili powder
  • 7/6 (1/2 +2/3) tbsp cumin
  • 1/2 tbsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tbsp oregano
  • 3oz tomato paste
  • 28 oz canned diced tomatoes (I like using the ones with chilis in it, for even more spice)
  • 1 can black beans
  • 1 can dark red kidney beans
  • 2 units beef stock concentrate ( I use better than bullion brand for this kinda stuff, you can probably use bullion cubes)

Steps

  1. Dice the onions and peppers to be really small. I do not like a chunky chili. Always keep the pepper seeds and ribs for more spice. Mince the garlic while you are at it.
  2. Heat something to cook the vegetables in (either olive oil or leftover bacon fat if I have it around) in a pot at around medium heat. Add some salt and saute until soft.
  3. Add the beef and the spices and a bit more salt if you're feeling it (salt makes things taste good). Brown the beef.
  4. Stir in the tomato paste. The the tomatoes with their liquid, the beans with their liquid, the stock concentrate with no liquid, 1/4 cup of water. Add some salt and pepper if it somehow needs more.
  5. Simmer until it thickens. This can be shockingly short for this if you are in a rush, but the longer this simmers the better.
  6. Serve with whatever toppings you like. I typically use some cheddar cheese and some cornbread.

Notes

  • The only cornbread secret I have is you can make the cornbread better tasting but worse for you by adding yellow cake mix, an extra egg, 1/4 cup butter, and some more water. Also I should make my corn bread with a mini loaf pan at some point for some whimsy.
  • I had a recipe use 1/2 cup strong black coffee. I didn't like that recipe as a whole (it used brown sugar which I get some people want a bit of sweetness in their chili but it messes with the vibe for me). The idea is interesting and I may replace the water with this in the future.
  • Other ideas from that recipe I may steal include using red wine vinegar mixed with some corn meal to thicken the chili and putting red pepper flakes in the spice blend. Always evolve your recipes folks!
  • I really want to make chili again now.....

Definitely stealing this recipe.

Think again. China has been doing this trend I just invented for over 4,000 years.

But if you JUST invented it, how was China doing it?

Also, we all know tea is british, and brits have NO history of stealing culture, so you can't even claim they did such a thing!
