And the thoughts are coming

So, in a military setting, Dex would have the routine and order that he did in the army and FBI, his life and world would be more put together than in ddba, more like right at the beginning of dds3

And so then I was thinking, what’s the stressor that breaks that

Matt.

Matt is because of course he is

Matt and Dex, Daredevil and Bullseye, on an op together. They’re out in the field, just them for a couple days, makes them harder to detect and track

Bullseye takes his orders from Daredevil, and his job is to be lookout and Daredevil’s backup

He’s a sniper, after all

But what if Daredevil gets hurt. Perhaps someone takes him down and Dex couldn’t see them from his vantage point, or maybe the comms go dark and Dex looses visual

Then Dex is completely alone and unmoored

He’d go in after Daredevil, of course, but I think this would be a bit like his rampage at the end of dds3 when he goes after Fisk after learning about Julie, because this is emotionally fuelled and angry. It’s not just a job like his hit on Foggy and it’s not fun like at the diner — there are stakes, personal ones

Matt is Dex’s superior, his commanding officer, he’s vital to the success of the mission, he’s Daredevil, he’s Dex’s North Star and so he will not die

And so, that is how I think Dex would snap and we’d get to see the murdery and untethered Bullseye that’s so fun (and also painful) to see

a/n: i wrote this for a very close friend who i had considered to be my platonic north star and unfortunately am not friends with anymore. it was meant to be a gift just for them, but as they won't get to see it, it's getting posted here. i truly hope that everyone enjoys the fic, this is the first oneshot (ship wise), that i have written in a very long time. i tried my best, and the characters may be ooc, i have not finished daredevil yet, and i was trying my best to make it canon compliant with my ideas. thank you for reading, and i hope you all enjoy.
