kills me how cc wanted us to believe it took james starting school for him to get close with the son of his godfather who he’s partially named after or the son of his mother’s best friend or his literal biological cousin. i’ve repressed this so hard it’s always a jumpscare when i remember. the entire tid gang are either best friends or actual siblings and they never had their children in the same room until they started at the academy. ok sure. and there’s so few shadowhunters in the world that everybody in any given enclave knows everybody else. like this is a very prominent part of the lore it’s what drives the entire conflict of tmi. they would know each other even if their parents weren’t trauma bonded to insane degrees

Magnus not liking Ty, and perhaps being a bit of an antagonistic character in TWP, could honestly be so funny. Like 20+ books of him helping whatever shadowhunters happen to appear on his doorstep and he’s finally had enough, one more mildly questionable decision by Tiberius Nero Blackthorn (which is a given) and it’s over. 138 year long obsession with Will Herondale and his descendants and this one is pissing him off too much. he’s done!!! no more!!!
I hate the initial stage of coming up with theories, bc right now I have the knowledge of a religious myth about how the demon Belial is supposed to possess Emperor Nero and be the reason behind his destruction and evil acts, but I still don't know how to fully link that with Ty Nero Blackthorn.
All I know is that:
- Ty's middle name is NERO
- Ty is supposed to be a descendant of Belial (through Lucie Herondale), therefore one of the people Belial can possess.
- Ty doesn't look anything like his siblings, but he does seem to have inherited Tessa's eye color, which comes from Belial's.
- Kit keeps dreaming about an evil Ty.
- Belial is the prince of necromancers.

Oh nothing it’s just Kit never experiencing love nor being able to give love for 15 years, believing the first person he ever truly loved never cared about him and not being able to look at others who love eachother without thinking that he must be irrevocably damaged and unloveable, and those who love him will only suffer for it, for not being able to understand that sense of warmth and trust that he should’ve known all his life, for being terrified to love knowing that anyone who has ever cared for him slightly seem to die or be punished for simply loving.
