I just think that if you are a feminist who is white and your first thought upon seeing Men of Color celebrating themselves for being alive and thriving and loving themselves is "yeah well I bet they are still dangerous patriarchal misogynists who hate the women of their communities" you are racist.

How dire things are: my mostly offline "didn't know what an egg was" queer therapist has started researching anti-transmasculinity in the queer community because other clients keep bringing it up as a big issue for them.

Like to be clear it's good she's researching stuff! But it sucks that it's becoming so frequent of a topic in therapy.

Thinking about Elliot Page makes me remember my ex who was absolutely obsessed with him. My ex was a straight, cis guy who was really into petite people and pre-transition Elliot Page was his ultimate fantasy.

When I came out as genderfluid, my ex was very upset specifically because he was attracted to me. He didn't like the idea of someone he thought was hot not being a woman because that put his heterosexuality into question. I haven't talked to him since we broke up, but it's very likely that he threw a fit when Elliot Page came out too.

This is a huge part of transandrophobia. The idea that someone who's attractive to a straight, cis guy could be anything other than a woman makes these men angry. We live in a transphobic, homophobic world and some people's straightness is so fragile.

Why is it that it's completely totally cool and fine, and seen as completely normal for transfems and trans women who were AMAB to talk about how much they wish they were born female, how they wish that they had a vagina, could get pregnant, how they wish they could get a period, how they have dysphoria about never going through childhood/teenage years as a girl, and how much they feel like they've missed out on so much.

But the moment a trans guy who was AFAB talks about how he wishes he grew up as a guy, how much he wishes he could get someone pregnant and become a father, how much they wish they never grew breasts, and went through androgen-dominant puberty, and basically literally everything that OTHER trans people say, but in reverse, they're seen as some creepy fetishist who is jerking off to the struggles of trans women and transfems who were AMAB?

That's not a fetish, that's just dysphoria and yearning. Jesus christ. You're literally one step away from talking about how some trans women are AGP at this point.

it’s funny watching people assume that mamdani must have used AI or something to be able to pronounce chinese tones so well, meanwhile i had a conversation with the pakistani man at my local store a while back and he proudly told me that being a native urdu speaker meant that he could pronounce pretty much everything and he once won a bet by immediately nailing the pronunciation of his chinese coworker’s name so no i don’t think it’s AI i think he’s just fluent in several languages that help out with other languages because that’s kinda how languages work.
