── .✦ a/n ~ based off a dream I had the other night, do with that information what you will

You and Spider-Man are best friends.

Or, better yet, you and Peter Parker are best friends.

You have been ever since your freshman year, when you were the only two people to raise your hands during science class.

That also happened to be the day Peter would fall head-over-heels for you.

Now, four years later, you’re sitting in your shared apartment, having one of your many movie nights on a Saturday evening. You’re hardly paying attention, though, preferring to joke around together. It comes easy after so long.

Soon, you had forgotten the movie entirely, allowing it to fade into background noise as you began having your annual late night talk. It isn’t often that such a thing happens anymore, since you’re both in University and don’t have the time to catch up like this. Times like this — late into the night — is when the deep, even taboo topics are brought up.

In previous years, you’d shared things like dates, secrets, and even crushes. Peter’s your best friend, he deserves to know these things.

Tonight, you’re more or less just gossiping about old high school drama.

You told stories back and forth; he talked about how he found out an old bully ended up in prison, you ranted about the girl that made your gym class a nightmare was a successful business owner. Then, you mentioned something totally different.

“Y’wanna know what I found out recently?” You said eagerly.

“What?” Peter replied with a grin.

“Flash Thompson, the guy who was allegedly a ‘ladies man’, never kissed anyone throughout our four years of school!”

In that moment, you could hardly see it, but Peter’s mood dampened ever so slightly.

“Really?” He said back.

“I know! It’s so odd, ‘cause he always boasted about how much girls liked him, but nobody kissed him! And it’s not like—”

“I’ve never, uh, kissed anyone either.”

You stop. Your eyes go wide as saucers. Peter Parker, your very best friend, has never kissed a single person? He may not have been the most sought after man in school, but he still went out with girls; you were confident he’d kissed someone.

“Actually?” You murmur.

He nods.

“I went out on dates a lot, but, uh… never actually had the courage to do anything like that.” You nodded along. “I just didn’t want to waste a first kiss, or a kiss in general, on someone I didn’t truly like that much.”

You bite your lip, heart sinking at the realization that you’d spent years talking about your own love affairs, not knowing the full extent of his. You felt awful.

But Peter’s mind was elsewhere.

All he could think about was the fact he was saving his first kiss for you.

He had been in love with you essentially since the day you met. His love wasn’t loud or obvious, but instead a silent, festering flame that grew and grew. But he never dared express it. High school relationships didn’t typically end well. So, instead, he settled for friendship. He ignored the way his heart beat faster each and every time you got too close, he pretended that his gut didn’t start burning when you playfully kissed his cheek for prom pictures.

He told himself, for four years, that it would pass. It didn’t.

And now, he’s sitting across from you, confessing that he never had his first kiss.

However, if he had known how you felt, the boy would be more than shocked.

You’d fallen for him years ago.

It was long after he had realized his feelings for you, yes, but it was the kind of thing that was silent for so long — like a song that makes you wait endlessly for the big drop. It wasn’t a fire, but an explosion. When you reflected on your years as friends, you’d discovered this love was there quite long. You knew it in the way you always leaned against him, craving the closeness. You knew it in the fact you saw almost anything and thought of him. You knew it in the way he made your chest tight.

You’ve kept it hidden so long.

This, you now see, is where the tension is coming from.

Years and years of pent up feelings, now finally culminate in his confession. Your eyes subtly flicker to his mouth, the heavy air of the room bringing down all of your walls.

He’s never kissed a woman.

“Do you wanna try it?” You blurt into the silence.

Peter’s face flushes, a confused expression coming upon his features at the same time.

“W—What?”

“Do you wanna try it? With— with me, I mean?”

The boy’s stomach tightens at your proposal.

“You don’t have to, I-I’m just saying, who better way to get it over with than with your best friend? Right?”

Panic fills your every pore. You’ve just fucked everything up. You’re going to lose your best friend and roommate all because you want to kiss every inch of his stupid, sexy body—

He suddenly mutters your name in a, soft, sultry voice you’ve dreamed about.

You stare at him. He stares back. The tension is so taught, so thick, and heavy.

“Please.” He utters.

The fire in your stomach burns brighter as you pounce on him.

Your lips crash together immediately. The kisses are hot, heady, unrestrained and rightfully so. His hands reach for your waist, holding you so gently, as though he’s scared of crushing you. Your own cup his jaw and tangle in his curls.

A breathy noise leaves you when he presses further. You’d never believe he’s never kissed anyone with the way he’s kissing you now; all tongues and teeth and passion, yet so precise, taking in the sensations.

Mph— Peter,” you gasp, breaking away for a half second. His chocolatey eyes stare back at you, pupils blown wide, lips parted as he pants.

His hands grip your waist more firmly when he dives back in. You settle comfortably on his lap, legs resting on either side of his, hips slotting together perfectly. He tugs you closer, every inch of your bodies touching in some way, creating a delicious friction you’d hate to lose.

Your kisses only seem to grow in fervor, tongues constantly fighting for dominance, breathless, needy sounds escaping the both of you. With one hand in his curls, the other removes his glasses, tossing them to the side carelessly. A shiver shoots up your spine when you feel his hand slide beneath your shirt.

“Pete,” You mutter against his lips. “Peter.”

“Mnh?” He hums in return, as his kisses travel down your neck. His hips rut up into yours as he sucks gently at your skin. You can’t help moaning as he attempts to push your top off your shoulders.

“Peter, s-slow down,” you groan. Your fingers tangle further in his hair, hips grinding against each other, his lips and teeth leaving marks on your exposed skin.

“Don’t wanna.” He whines in return.

You tug at his curls, forcing him to stop his ministrations and face you. His face is so blissed out — lips swollen from kisses, pupils wide, and full of desire — you try not to take pity on him.

“Easy. Take a breath, you look like you’re about to pass out!” You smile at him, and he does the same back, totally high off the feeling of your mouth on his.

“I’d gladly let that happen if I was between—”

“Woah, woah, woah! Alright, lets not go that far tonight,” you exclaim, earning a laugh from Peter.

“Can we?”

With the way he’s looking at you so expectantly, you have the feeling he’s not kidding. That only stokes the fire in your abdomen.

“… do you want to?”

Peter Parker doesn’t think he’d ever get to experience such a thing, let alone with the woman of his dreams, so he doesn’t waste a second, smashing his lips into yours the second those words leave your mouth.

You, on the other hand, already know you’re in for one hell of a night.

Neville Longbottom was always absolutely hopeless when it came to girls.

While all of his friends had started seeing girls, or at the very least being noticed by them, the boy was quite the opposite. It’s not like he ever minded, he was never a fan of attention. He had no clue what he’d do if he was in Harry or Draco’s shoes.

That is, until you came into his life.

He’d been in the greenhouse, re-potting a mimbulus mibletonia, when you approached.

“Hello?” Your voice rang out into the otherwise quiet space.

Neville jumped, nearly dropping the poor plant, whipping his head around to face you.

“Oh, merlin, I’m sorry! I didn’t mean to scare you!'“ You exclaimed.

“N-No, it’s alright, really. I’m just… jumpy.” He placed the pot back onto the table, wiping his dirty hands on the front of his jeans.

“Sorry, I just came here ‘cause Professor Sprout told me to. You’re Neville Longbottom, if I’m not mistaken?”

The boy’s heart fluttered in his chest. You knew his name? Moreover, you were looking for him?

“Y-Yeah, that’s me.”

“Perfect! I was wondering if you could help me with herbology? I’m usually better at it, but this unit’s been a pain.” You groaned at the thought.

For a few moments, he thought over your request. On one hand, you’re way too cool to be hanging around him and he’d surely make a fool of himself. But on the other hand, he’d get to ramble about his favorite subject and plants without sounding like a smartass.

“Of course.” He shifted back to his plant, and you followed, watching him as he packed the dirt overtop his plant’s roots. “Were you thinking of a time and place at all?” The air suddenly feels so much less loaded.

“Is Friday in the library after classes alright?” You proposed.

“It’s perfect.”

That Friday, the pair of you spent numerous hours not only studying, but laughing and conversing, nearly getting killed by Percy Weasley and Snape for losing track of time and staying up too late. He’d never had conversation come so easy with another human being ever. He even struggled to speak with his Gran.

All it took was one night for you and him to become best friends.

Over the next two and a half years, your friendship grew stronger and stronger. You understood each other in ways nobody else could. He knew about your deepest insecurities, and you knew about his. You were able to confide things in one another that you felt you couldn’t anyone else.

It was quiet, steady. Reliable in the way that you knew, no matter what, you could find solace in the other.

And for nearly two of these years of friendship, Neville harbored a big, fat, secret crush on you.

He’d never acted on it, not wanting to cross boundaries and knowing for near certain you didn’t reciprocate. You talked often about other people you found attractive — this actor, that singer, this Slytherin, that Ravenclaw — he could go on.

But that didn’t stop him from wishing.

He’d lay awake at night, wishing on every star that he could gain the courage to ask you out. He could always frame it as just another trip to Hogsmeade and see how you felt. Despite this desire, he never acted. He held too much admiration for you and valued your connection too much.

Little did he know, you had felt the exact same way.

You noticed every little quirk of his: how he nibble on his lip when he focused, the way his eyes shone so bright while talking of a mundane plant, the manner in which he fidgeted with his robes.

You spent many evenings with your girlfriends, gushing about his cute habits and deflecting the idea of just asking him out.

You’d tell them, “no! he doesn’t like me back, I love him too much to jeopardize our friendship.” They’d beg you to stop talking about him, then.

So, you devised a plan, not knowing he was having the exact same thought.

“Hey, Nev!” You chirped as you approached him at breakfast the following morning.

“Hey, morning.” He said back.

“Do you happen to be free this Saturday?” You asked as you scooped an omelette onto your plate, dousing it in salt and pepper.

“Yeah, why?”

“Wanna go to Hogsmeade? Just the two of us?” Gods above, you’re coming on too strong.

“Sure! I’d love to. It’s been a while since we hung out one on one.”

It’s true, you spend a lot of time in bigger groups nowadays. Either Seamus or Dean or Ginny or someone tags along to your adventures. You don’t mind it, of course, but you still wish you got more alone time with him.

That evening, Neville repeated the conversation to his friends, only to nearly have them spit out their tea in shock.

“Mate, she clearly asked you out on an implied date!” Dean practically yelled.

“Yeah! “just the two of us,” she wants you so bad!” Seamus affirmed.

“But what if she didn’t? What if you’re just leaning too heavily into things?'“

“Trust me, man, I’ve seen this happen a million times. A girl asks a guy to hang out, and then they just end up snogging all night.”

“Merlin, you lot are awful.”

But Neville was starting to believe them. What if they were right, and you wanted him?

Across the hall, you were having a similar dilemma.

“Oh my god, you did it!” Ginny squealed excitedly.

“Finally! I’ve been waiting for this day since you met the boy!” Lavender added with a grin.

You giggle at their antics, feeling your cheeks heat up under their gazes.

“So what do I wear? I need to dress up a little, so at least he notices, but not so anyone else notices…” You trail off, wondering whether or not a henley would catch his eye. Lavender pipes up immediately.

“Oh, i have the perfect thing for you!” She rushes to her closet, flipped through the hangers, quickly finding a dark mahogany cable knit jumper. She holds it up in delight.

“We all know the boy loves his jumpers, so why not this? Pair it with a cute skirt, some leggings, maybe a headband, and you’ve got him more wrapped around your finger than you do now!”

You smile, taking the garment into your hands a feeling the soft material.

“It’s perfect.”

And that’s your color.” Ginny says with a nod.

From that evening forward, you and Neville both count down the days until Saturday. When the morning comes, you wake up bright and early to get ready. You take an everything shower, putting in extra effort to smell your best with various body lotions and perfumes, and tending carefully to your hair.

Once you’ve gotten clean, dressed yourself, and done your makeup, you feel like a whole new girl.

“Oh, you’re such a doll! Now go get your man!” Lavender says adoringly, before practically shoving you out the door.

Meanwhile, Neville spent the last fifteen minutes waiting in the courtyard for you. For a while, he was terrified you wouldn't show. He’d even taken extra time in styling his curls and deciding an outfit for you!

All of his doubts are calmed when he sees you walking down the damp stone steps in his direction, clad in the most gorgeous sweater he’s ever seen you in. The autumnal leaves dance around you in the breeze, and he swears you came straight out of a romance movie.

“Ready to go?” He asks when you get close enough.

“Naturally.” you reply.

The pair of you walk leisurely down to Hogsmeade, taking a the better part of a half hour to get there. When you arrive, you stroll around, glancing at the shops, until one catches your eye.

“Oh my goodness, we have to go there! C’mon!” You instinctively take Neville’s hand in your own, dragging him along in the direction of the boutique, not knowing the effect some simple hand-holding had on the boy.

Your eyes sparkle as you enter, eyes dancing between the different racks and mannequins of clothing.

“Woah… this place is—”

“Magnificent?" You finish his sentence, grinning as you turn to face him.

“Yeah. Magnificent.” He mutters back breathlessly.

You spend the next hour and a half leading him about the store like a puppy on a leash, having him judge different jumpers and bottoms and tops, even though he always says they’d look phenomenal on you. He does so with a smile plastered on his face, cheeks flushed, but not from the cold. You even have him pick some things out.

“Isn’t this sweater just darling? Gosh, it’s beautiful.” You say happily. He nods fervently, taking the fabric between his forefinger and thumb.

“It’s quite soft too.”

You hum in return, only to put it right back on the hanger.

“Aren’t you gonna get it?” He asks with a furrowed brow.

“Maybe another time.” You reply, knowing you most definitely won’t. This happens often; you go into a clothing store only to look at things and leave without a bag in hand but your purse.

“I’ll get it for you then.”

“What? Nev, you don’t have—”

“I want to.” He cuts in. “You want it badly, so I’ll get it. It isn’t a big deal.”

If you thought you couldn’t be any more in love with him before, you were wrong. He’d make such a good boyfriend.

And that thought makes you pause.

There’s this pattern between you two that has been consistent since you became friends: you constantly compare him to what a boyfriend should be like. He buys clothing for you, he makes sure you get to bed on time, he carries your bags, he knows your favorite tea and sweets.

Maybe the reason why you haven’t been asked out since being his friend is because everyone thinks you’re dating.

You snap out of it when he speaks up.

“Are you ready to pay?”

“Oh— uhm…” Suddenly, a sweater in the men’s section catches your eye. Its’s a deep blue, with little brown and baby blue accents. You move in that direction, grabbing a large off the rack.

“Now I’m ready.”

“And who is that rather big jumper for?” The taller boy inquires.

“You, of course. Can’t have you buying something for me and not get you anything in return, can I?”

Neville can feel his cheeks flush at that.

The pair of you pay quickly, before stepping out into the bustling streets of Hogsmeade. Several couples pass by, either holding hands or something similar, and you feel your heart speed up when you catch yourself picturing you and Neville like that.

As you fall into pace with the crowd, your hand drifts closer to his, until you finally take his clammy hand in your own. His fingers are slender and surprisingly soft. Your thumb rubs over the back of his hand.

For a while, you two just walk silently, no stores catching either of your eyes, until you come upon a secluded, quiet area near an old coffee shop that overlooks the Black Lake.

You sit down on a damp bench, side by side, thighs touching, your hand still tangled in his.

Over the course of the next five minutes, the silence becomes suffocating. Not because it’s tense, or angry, but because it’s so suspenseful — like both of you are waiting for the other to speak.

You finally turn to face him when it becomes unbearable.

“Neville.”

The boy trembles beneath your gaze. His legs bounces up and down rapidly.

“Neville, please.”

He slowly turns his head, and when his gaze finally meets yours, he breaks. You’re just too beautiful, too entrancing, he can’t help it. His lip quivers as he leans in, a shaky hand coming up to your jaw.

The second your lips touch, fireworks set off in your stomach. You lean into his touch, pressing more firmly against him, chasing the taste of him.

After a short moment, you draw back. But it hardly lasts before you’re both diving in for more, devouring one another’s mouth with a tender fervor. You’re both hungry for the other, but in the least lustful way one can imagine.

Your lips move and slide against his — hesitant at first — but quickly building confidence. Your hand comes up, caressing his cheek oh so softly. His own grips your jaw harder.

When you finally pull away, panting, you search his eyes, only to find the emotion that mirrors your own exactly: love.

“I think I’m in love with you.” You blurt.

Except, somehow, this time, Neville doesn’t flinch. He isn’t shocked or confused, because those words are the most natural thing to come from your lips and reach his ears.

“I love you too. All of you.”

He leans in, softer this time, savoring the taste of your mouth instead of consuming it.

You stay like there together for a while. By the time you decide to walk back to the dorms, it’s almost curfew, and you need to sneak around to avoid getting caught. But it’s all worth it to get to kiss Neville goodnight in front of everyone in the dormitory.

It was the perfect opportunity.

His mom took Judith on some camping trip with her new boyfriend, and his father and Michonne were out on a belated honeymoon. For the entire week.

Carl felt like his should have been too good to be true, but it wasn’t — he’d pinched himself one too many times to think otherwise.

So, he did what any love-struck teenager would. He blows his allowance on pizza and other junk foods, and tells everyone he knows to come over and bring whatever the hell they want.

Within an hour, his house is stuffed full of sweaty teenagers. Speakers are blasting loud music, tables are riddled with solo cups of various mixtures — beer, red bull, vodka, sprite — and yet it isn’t enough for him.

There’s one face missing from the crowd.

The entire reason this party came to fruition.

Carl isn’t usually the type of guy to host an event like this. He’d rather go to one and leave early the moment his head starts pounding from the mix of alcohol and loud music. Even his friends questioned his motives.

And it all came down to you.

He’s spent the past two months feeling nothing but frustrated, bitter, and confused. So incredibly confused. It isn’t easy going from hating a person with every fiber of your being, to getting butterflies at the mere thought of them. He’s been secretly harboring these feelings for too long, and he needs to make something become of them.

So he waits.

And waits

Until, finally, he catches a glimpse of the object of his attraction in the peripheral of his vision.

He turns, watching as you and Enid enter his house, now meandering about, probably in search of drinks. Despite his better judgment, he’s quick to rush over and say hi.

“Hey, Enid.” He grins ear-to-ear. Inside, he feels like he’s being way too obvious with his crush on you, even though he’s hardly able to make eye contact with you.

“Well, hello to you too, Carl,” you butt in, a quaint smirk gracing your lips. It’s odd being so civil with him. You’re so used to his stinging remarks, his current behavior is quite out of the ordinary — but that doesn’t mean it’s unwelcome.

“Hey,” he then mutters to you.

“So, Carl, I thought you weren’t the type to throw parties?” Enid questions.

“Yeah, well,” his hand comes p to rub the back of his neck nervously. “I’ve been bored and needed something to look forward to.”

“Really, now?” The brunette girl smirks.

“Yup.”

For several moments, awkward silence hangs in the air between the three teens. Then, you speak up.

“I’m gonna go get a drink. D’you want one, Enid?”

“Yeah. Don’t make it too strong, though. I need to be coherent tomorrow.”

Carl watches you walk off, eyes glued to the back of your head, before Enid’s voice pulls him out of his thoughts.

“Jesus Christ, could you be any less obvious?” She scoffs.

“W-What? I don’t know what you’re—”

“Don’t play dumb. You’re so in love with her, it’s making me sick.”

Carl swallows loudly, Adam's apple bobbing at the accusation. His mouth opens and closes in an attempt to deny her words. But, alas, he physically can’t. For a few moments, he stammers, before leaning in close.

“You can’t tell anyone!” Enid laughs in his face at that.

“I won’t, promise! I’m not that much of a jerk.”

Carl shakes his head, rubbing a hand over his face.

“I don’t know what’s wrong with me. Three months ago, I couldn’t stand the sight of her. And now…”

He stares off into the crowd, finding you at the punch bowl, looking beautiful as ever under the dim lighting. You’re so unbelievably gorgeous, his breath hitches just from looking at you.

“I can’t mess things up. If she’s being civil with me now, that means there’s hope for me.” He turns back to Enid as he speaks. “I just want her so bad.”

“Go talk to her! I’m sure she won’t be that pissed.” Enid nudges his arm with her own, egging him on. Carl doesn’t know it, but Enid has a plan. She’s officially heard both you and him gush about the other, so naturally, she’s going to try and get you two together.

She did, however, forget one key detail: just how stubborn you are.

The boy starts walking off in your direction, weaving throughout the party-goers, eyes searching for your face.

He passes by several couples fondling each other, which makes his mind run to the dirtiest of places — what he wouldn't give to have you in his arms right now, to feel your soft skin against his.

He snaps himself out of his stupor when his eyes come into contact with the back of your head. He’s about to move closer when he sees it: two arms, encircling your waist, and a head ducking down to your level.

Suddenly, he feels like he’s been shoved off a 50 foot cliff and into freezing cold water.

Of course you don’t even like him.

You may be nicer than you were a year ago, but that doesn’t mean anything.

You’re still a cold, harsh, mean woman that would never be into a guy like him.

His expression grows agitated as he turns around, footsteps heavy against the wood tiles of his living room floor. He quickly finds the refreshments, pouring himself a heaping glass of a mysterious alcohol.

He’ll need plenty to survive the night now.

Across the house, in a secluded hallway, your back is pressed to the wood of an old closet door. A stranger — tall, with dark skin and amber brown eyes — places kiss after kiss upon your lips. His hands grip your sides, while your own tangle in his dreadlocks.

Yet there’s a different face you’re picturing.

You wish you could ignore him.

You wish you could forget.

But you can’t.

Instead, you distract yourself with the beautiful man before you. He’ll take you home, pull you into his bed, and you’ll regret it the next morning.

At least it will keep Carl off your mind for a few hours.

Ever since the apocalypse, people in Enid’s life have done nothing but get hurt.

First, her parents.

Then, people like Glenn and Maggie and Carl.

So it’s only natural that she’s grown used to tending to various ailments. Paper cuts, large gashes, or stab wounds, she takes care of it all.

You, however, are different than all of those who came before you.

Instead of thinking of the worse — death — Enid finds herself thinking of something else. The future. She imagines herself sitting by you on the porch of an old farmhouse, laughing and reminiscing over coffee in the early mornings.

She knows, deep in her heart, that you’re special.

Which is why she takes extra good care of you.

When you showed up at her door instead of the infirmary’s, clutching your side, whincing with every movement, she felt her stomach sink.

“Shit, what’s your issue?” She whisper-yells as she drags you inside, watching you collapse onto her livingroom floor.

“I— uh, got a little hurt.”

“No kidding!”

She rushes upstairs, to the bathroom where she keeps spare medical supplies. Minutes later, she arrives back downstairs, sitting down at your side.

“I-It’s nothing, really—”

“Shut up.”

Her hands work quickly, lifting your bloodsoaked shirt to reveal a nasty gash on your side. Thankfully, it’s not a Walker bite. She grabs a bottle of antiseptic and a washcloth to place against the wound.

“This is gonna sting,” is her only warning before she wipes the wound with the soaked cloth.

“S—Shit, fuck!” You gasp, groaning loudly at the pain, flinching away from the sensation.

Enid looks up, eyes brimming with emotion, gaze locking onto yours.

“Let me do this. Please.” She almost begs.

You pause at that. Enid isn’t one for emotions aside from frustration and annoyance, so to see her like this, clearly scared, causes you to freeze.

Her gaze stays on yours for several more moments. Then flickers down. Then, she grabs gazue and bandages and gets to covering the wound on your side.

Your eyes watch all of her movements, mezmerized, as your thoughts run wild.

Enid, her lips on yours, soft and sweet, your hands freely roaming her skin, touching and squeezing—

You snap out of it when she blurts out your name.

“Stay with me. You need something to eat.”

You grin impishly at her, a low, delirious chuckle escaping you. Your head and entire body suddenly feels light and warm; probably from the mass blood loss.

“Oh, I know what I wanna eat.”

Her face immediately flushes.

“Don’t say that.” She moves to get up, but instead, you pull her down.

“Nuh uh. Stay here.” Your hands move up her sides, gently pulling her shirt up.

“S-Stop it, we can’t—”

“Nothing’s stopping us. Promise, I’m not awful.” Your smirk, lips barely grazing her ear.

She pushes away, still flushed, leaving you grinning on her living room floor.

“Just wait until you’re healed.” Is her final word to you before you black out.

𑣲┊[ Distractions

aka… ponyboy often being distracted in your presence

warnings ~ all fluff, reader's outfit is briefly described, smitten ponyboy, shy!reader
w/c ~ 290+

── .✦ a/n ~ this is lowkey more verbally than silently but I do already have something writen for his silent love!

Ponyboy Curtis doesn’t often show his love for you with words.

More often than not, his way of expressing his intense love for you is through physical touch — like hugging or kissing — or through poems he never shares.

But, there are some moments where he can’t keep his mouth shut.

Like when he took you to prom, and you got all dolled up and he couldn’t take his eyes off you and your shimmery dress.

Or, more likely, moments like now, when you’re simply doing tasks around his kitchen.

You’re standing at the sink, hair pulled away from your neck, wearing a loose t-shirt and shorts.

To him, you’ve never looked more beauitful. And so, he can’t help saying it.

“You’re unreal.” He mutters breathlessly from his spot on the floor.

You turn, facing your boyfriend, a bashful smile appearing on your lips.

“I’m bein’ serious. You’re, like, otherworldly.” The boy grins, standing up and approaching you. His arms encircle your waist and his chin comes to rest upon your shoulder.

“You oughta stop doin’ that to me, less I blush so hard I overheat.” You giggle.

He plants kisses across your neck, tickling the expanse of your skin.

“Can’t help it. You’re just too pretty.”

“Whatever you say, sweet-thing.”

Your hands resume their previous motion, washing the dirt and grime off of a week’s worth of dishes. Things often get like this, especially when Darry works overtime. That’s just another reason Ponyboy loves you — you love not only him but his family, too, and you aren’t scared to show it.

He places one final kiss to your cheek, before finding a bottle of cleaner and getting to work taking care of the countertops. You’d asked him to start cleaning long ago, but he’d been distracted.

Clearly.

Could I possibly request a salad with Ponyboy? Thank you! I just found your account today and Im in love with how you write ^^

𑣲┊[ Hey, sweetcheeks!

aka… the movies not being as private as one would expect

warnings ~ fluff, the gang being a little weird, embarrassed ponyboy
w/c ~ 570+

── .✦ a/n ~ guys forgive me for taking so long to get these out ive been a little burnt out and busy💔

The smell of freshly buttered popcorn and cigarette smoke wafts into your nose when you step foot in the drive-in.

“D’you wanna go get us seats while I get us some snacks?” Your boyfriend, Ponyboy, asks sweetly.

“‘Course. Remember to get me a coke, yeah?” With a nod and kiss to your cheek, he walks off in the direction of the food stands.

You wander about the area, searching for the best seats you can — not to far from the screen, not too close, not by anyone boozing it up — until you find the right spot. There isn’t anyone around, it has a perfect view of the screen, and is pretty close to the food.

You get settled in, smoothing your skirt out over your legs, holding your purse in your lap. The movie doesn’t start for a while, and Pony isn’t back, so you occupy yourself by people watching.

You spot a lady holding onto a man’s arm. You see a couple fighting. You see a posse of older girls presumably gossiping..

There’s such a vast variety of characters in this town, you think to yourself.

A handful of minutes later, the sound of maniacal laughter fills your ears.

You turn, watching a group of five boys a little older than you walk up to the empty seats nearby. One of them, with ginger sideburns and a beer bottle in hand, notices you staring. A look of recognition falls upon his face. Then, a grin.

“Hey, sweetcheeks!” The boy grins as he approaches.

You smile awkwardly, shrinking in on yourself. You’re well aware of the way that men are — you refuse to take your chances.

“Hi.” You mutter stiffly.

He slides into the seat beside you. His friends follow in suit, still grinning, still making you uneasy.

“Come ‘round here often?” He asks.

“Yeah. With my boyfriend.”

“Oh, you’re tied down, huh?” He cackles at that.

“Uhm, yeah. He’s real sweet to me, you make it sound like it’s against my will.”

The boy and his buddies laugh loudly, all punching and joking with one another at your expense. You’re glad Ponyboy isn’t like them. He’s kind and respectable. There’s a reason he’s your boyfriend.

“I’m sure he is, doll. Say, what’d it take for—”

“What the hell are you idiots doin’ here?” An angry, familiar voice booms.

Your eyes lock onto Ponyboy, standing ten feet away, sodas, popcorn, and candy in hand, looking utterly furious. The other guys quiet down. They make the connection quickly, that he’s the boyfriend you previously mentioned.

“So, this is your boyfriend?” The boy with the beer drawls.

“Ponyboy Curtis, why didn’t ya tell me about ‘yer girlfriend?!” One of them — blonde, tall, dressed in a work uniform — yells loudly.

You look between them, confused.

“Pony, how does he know your—”

Your boyfriend mutters something, now staring at his feet, clearly embarrassed.

“What?”

They’re my friends.

Shock covers your face.

“The ones I told you all about. Johnny, Dally, Two-Bit, Sodapop, Steve…” He gestures to each boy, and suddenly, all the dots connect. You’ve heard so much about these boys from Ponyboy; a mix of frustration and admiration towards all of them.

A smile graces your features.

Ponyboy takes his seat next to you, and instead of spending the duration of the movie wrapped up in one another, you’re wrapped up in conversation with his best friends. Not exactly how he wanted evening to go.

𑣲┊[ How the cookie crumbles

aka… your quiet afternoon at home gets crashed by a sweet, chubby face

warnings ~ all fluff, carl being obsessed w his gf, baby judith
w/c ~ 400+

── .✦ a/n ~ gah! so cute

A few hours of peace and quiet. That’s all you wanted.

Everyone was out doing stuff, like going on runs, or just being productive.

You, on the other hand, were baking cookies with Carl. Your boyfriend. It was supposed to be one of the few times you got some time alone. Usually, one of you is busy, or Michonne and Rick are around.

Not today, though.

Michonne is out, Rick is busy with the people of Alexandria, and Judith is napping.

You stand in the kitchen, flour and other ingredients all over the place, trying to follow the recipe as best as you can. Carl, however, is doing nothing but distract you.

“Carl, babe—” You giggle, trying to get him to quit smothering you in kisses.

“No. I don’t get to do this often.” He murmurs defiantly against your neck. You just smile. His arms tighten around your waist each time you try moving to grab an ingredient or throw a utensil in the sink.

His kisses continue, trailing across either side of your neck, careful not to leave a mark where someone else could see it.

“Babe, baby—” His mouth teases the underside of your jaw, tickling your skin, making you flinch and back away from him. “You gotta stop that!'“

“No, I’ll do what I want,” his hands slide along your waist, now tickling your sides. “I love you and I’ll show it whatever way I want.”

You start giggling now, unable to hold yourself back with the way he’s handling you. You’re barely able to get a word of protest out, not before you hear a tiny, different voice babbling behind you.

You and Carl both turn around, eyes finding Judith — now wide awake — staring at the two of you with her big hazel eyes, holding her baby blanket in one hand, the other stuffed halfway into her mouth.

“Hey, Jude…” you mutter.

Carl peels himself away from you, walking over to the toddler and scooping her up.

“I see you woke up from your nap.” He says.

Judith buries her face into her big brother’s neck, the tender sight putting a smile on your face. Your date might have been interrupted, and the cookies have gone unfinished, but seeing Carl treat his baby sister with such care makes you dream of a future where Walkers, violence, and death are no longer a concern.

It makes you dream of a better future.
