A Place Where Daydreams Come True

Wait-wait the craziest Loki x reader idea came to me! Imagine this...reader was an Avenger, fell in love with Loki, then as we all know he dies. Determined to be with him again, she finds out about the TVA and uses Tony's time travel device to go back to the attack on New York and prevent things from happening as they did, so she and Loki can be together. I mean, Steve left for Peggy, so it can't have any universal shattering consequences, right? Wrong! Now reader is stuck in the TVA with Loki, who isn't exactly the person she fell in love with, but both variants are falling in love all the same. Too bad the TVA decides she isn't supposed to be there, because, GASP, in a fourth-wall-breaking twist, her real timeline is in a world where she's only a young woman reading this story in a world where the Avengers are only characters in comics

Now she and Loki have to fight to find their own timelines where they can survive the TVA and be together

From the moment Loki took the throne, he had made sure you were treated with equal respect and importance. Anyone feared not doing as such, either to face his wrath or the edge of your sword. After all, you were his goddess and had schemed oh so cleverly in taking the throne for yourself as well. No wonder the two of you got along so well. Even if he had commissioned two thrones to be made, side by side, of equal size, he often found you as you were now, lounging across his lap in front of court shamelessly. For maybe the king ruled half the kingdom, but you would ensure everyone knew who the only person was he would kneel for - the queen.

The Avengers react...[To asking, "Would you love me if I were a worm?"]

Steve:

Just when Steve thinks the 21st century can't get any weirder, you ask him with a straight face, "Would you love me if I were a worm?"

"Is this some sort of reference I'm missing?" he asks in confusion. "Or a new kind of joke? Oh, one of those TikTak things!"

"No, it's this thing where you ask your partner if they would love you if you suddenly became a worm, and it's TikTok! We've been over this before!" Okay, now he's even more confused.

"Of course I would, but why would you be a worm? I'm not understanding this." Smiling, you beam, "You got the important part right."

Steve still wasn't sure why people asked about becoming worms now, but if the smile on your face meant anything, then it was worth it.

Natasha

"Would you love me if I were a worm?"

Natash doesn't even bother looking up from her paperwork, mumbling, "I don't have time for this right now. Nick's on to me about looking over these case docs."

You know, I see a lot of Loki x readers where reader is obviously mortal and it's all angsty because Loki first must overcome realizing he loves a mortal, then there's the added angst of knowing she won't live as long as him, and how he'll grieve but loving is better than loss and he must accept it

Honestly, I don't think Loki would ever allow someone he cares for, even a mortal, simply grow old and die once he's sure they're "the one." Loki literally is the type to burn the world down for someone, so you think he's going to let the natural order of things get in the way? Nope! He's the living embodiment of chaos and doesn't like rules.

Now, the loophole for this in fics I think would be the golden apples of immortality mentioned in Norse mythology. Of course, in the MCU we have no idea if these are canon or not since there's several parts that deviate from the original mythology, but for the sake of plot let's say they do. Loki would definitely do anything to get his hands on one for reader, even if it meant causing a war with Odin. It would probably just be a bonus to him!

But no, Loki would not just sit around and accept you being mortal. It's not in his nature

Okay, but when it comes to Loki x reader fics, Loki x fem! reader specifically, I'd love to see more readers who are a bit genderfunky. Of course, I'm sure he would love being with a woman who is feminine, but Loki is also literally genderfluid in canon and clearly doesn't care for gender norms in terms of his sense of fashion. I'd love to see more fics with reader who can be glamorous, but she also leans more in "masculine" style as well and doesn't care for gender norms either

They'd be the most iconic and well dressed couple tbh

Okay, so I few posts ago I mentioned how within the Marvel fandom people often write fics where Loki would immediately fall for reader, and why that's unrealistic, he wouldn't give a crap at first, he was a villain etc, BUT there's another issue I've seen that I wanna cover

I've also seen people argue, that except for the series version of Loki, that he's always just a manipulative, villainous, cold liar and that's not correct either!

My guys, yes while technically Loki from the series is a variant, that's STILL that same Loki who attacked New York. Loki is a character who needs the chance to be good and show how deeply he cares. I don't know how main timeline Loki is still be characterized as a villain rather than a complicated character! Do you remember who sacrificed their life to Thanos literally hours after he had only begun his redemption arc? Do we remember who loved his mother and wanted to avenge her death? Do the fans know that he was mind controlled and has a lotta trauma?

While yes, Loki wouldn't care initially, he's not heartless either. If anything, once he warms up to a person he cares too deeply and that's what irks him the most

I like bad boys- Cliche, overdone, and sounds basic

Personally, I always chose the villain- Classy, specific, elegant

Look, I love Loki as much as the next girl, but fic writers PLEASE remember that if we're working with main-timeline circa Avengers I almost took over a city Loki that he is not going to be falling in love with reader within a few hours of knowing them

The thing is with Loki that he is an anti-hero, and he does have a heart underneath his exterior but it also took several years of character development for him to become a better person. At most, he would be flirty with reader at first and even that would probably be some way to mess with them or to manipulate them. I beg of you, Loki calls for a slow-burn in any capacity unless we're using Loki from the series or possibly the first Thor movie.

While I do agree that most of it is Thanos's fault for using the mind stone on him, he still needs time to grow, you know? Loki is NOT gonna give a crap about anyone at first. He's literally a trickster and would probably prank reader all the time at best

Steve:

The mission had been a long one, and everyone was exhausted as night fell on the Tower. He had been sitting there beside you as you both tried to find your bearings after the tough day, until he felt a weight at his side

"Hey, are you awake?" he gently nudged you, with only a snore to respond. Okay, definitely asleep. After how you had fought beside him today, you must be exhausted. A smile crossed his lips, seeing you so calm for once. Shifting his weight, he guided your head to his chest, wrapping an arm securely around your sleeping form, nearly forgetting how to breathe when he saw a smile in your sleep.

"You did a good job, soldier."

Natasha:

Just after everything had managed to go wrong today, she expected this least of all

"Those idiots only made a mess-Hey, are you even listening?" looking down, she noticed you nodding off before you head fell, resting on her shoulder. She tried nudging you awake a few times, before accepting defeat, rolling her eyes.

Great, just what she needed after an already long day! As much as she hated admitting it, you did look cute like this...maybe it wouldn't hurt to let you stay
