sheep detectives is finally out on digital which means i can show you guys one of the funniest movie scenes of the year so far

[ID: Video. A trio of sheep walk past a church. The trio is made up of Lily, a Shetland sheep, Sebastian, a black Castlemilk Moorit sheep, and Mopple, a Merino sheep. The conversation between them is as follows:

Lily, looking at the church: What is this?

Sebastian: This is the church where someone named God lives.

Lily: Who's God?

Sebastian: It's a bit confusing. God is a shepherd.

Mopple: So he could be our shepherd.

Sebastian: No, because he's also a lamb.

Lily: What?

Sebastian: And he's also invisible. And he's made of bread. And he damns things.

Lily: Dams things? Like a beaver?

Sebastian: Yes.

Lily: So God is a big, invisible lamb-beaver made of bread?

Sebastian: Yes. And they eat him on Sundays.

Mopple: Poor God. /end ID]

Everybody say "thank you south america" for the humble potato

Actually let's get specific with it

*checks wiki*

Everybody say thank you indigenous people of present-day southern Peru and extreme northwestern Bolivia from 7-10,000 years ago for the humble potato

our office has automatic transcription set up for voicemails and I got this message yesterday and I can't stop thinking about it

fucking. Detective Triple Guns. This is my new favorite anime character. This is the spiritual successor of robocop and trigun. I want to watch the intro for this show that doesnt exist so badly

Was driving past the state police headquarters and there are hundreds of donuts strewn across the median out front. What is going on, Detective Triple Guns????

Detective Triple Guns finally has a partner on the force!

One of my favorite things about Put Baby In Pelican Mouth is that not only does the pelican have the intelligence necessary to speak human language but also knows how to lie, suggesting it has a theory of mind, yet not enough to understand that no one is going to put baby in pelican mouth.

To be entirely fair to the pelican, I have seen humans do much, much dumber things with their infants. The park rangers in Louisiana ha e to regularly tell people to not put their babies on the ground next to the gators for a pic.

In fact, it could be argued that the peculiar grammar used by the pelican in the Put Baby In Pelican Mouth post is deliberate, like how phishers use major grammar errors in their messages so that people too smart for the scam (or smart enough to report them) ignore the emails and the scammer can focus on the most likely marks.

Regardless, the pelican is right: there is absolutely someone dumb enough to put a baby in its mouth because it asked politely. Probably dozens on that beach alone.

Put baby in pelican mouth for Instagram photo. Facebook photo of baby in pelican mouth for many likes and also happy asleep baby. So cute baby in pelican mouth for video on TikTok. Youtube short of baby so cute in soft pelican mouth for so many views to Youtube channel. Baby in pelican mouth challenge.

“what does the woman who shaves gain from not shaving” i don’t know, an extra 3+ hours of free time a week? peace of mind and comfort in her femininity? not having nicks and cuts and ingrowns all the time? having a healthier skin barrier? do people think at all whatsoever before saying shit on my posts?

It takes some of you 3 hours to shave? I do it when I’m showering and it only takes me a couple of minutes. What sort of razor are you using? Even when I use an older, duller razor it doesn’t take me that long.

“Peace of mind and comfort in her femininity”

I couldn’t imagine anything less comforting and feminine than looking down at my legs in a sundress and seeing hairy man legs. There is nothing wrong with a woman wanting to look like a woman. That’s not lacking peace of mind, that’s normal and it’s misogynistic to say that femininity is the opposite of peaceful and comforting. Not all of us are desperate to be treated like men.

Amazing that she has hair to shave off her legs, I thought she was made of straw.

A perplexing idea...when you don't shave, your legs become man legs...a woman's legs somehow become a man's legs if she doesn't actively change the way they naturally are. Legs with hair are not "like a woman" even though women have legs with hair unless they decide to remove the hair...

I think the most damage this site has done to me is making me think "It's fucken wimdy" when it is, in fact, fucken wimdy outside.

I taught one of my ranching buddies “it fucken wimdy” and now he says it around his older more established ranching buddies

The exhilaration I get- upon hearing an old rancher (I’ve never met before) in cowboy boots and a cowboy hat while on a horse, grimly saying “it fucken wimdy” in a thick west Texas accent as he looks down upon his cows- is incalculable

Guess who finished the Project Hail Mary book and rewatched the movie?

Just got out of the theater from seeing the Hadestown proshot, and it was absolutely incredible, but I do believe Christopher Nolan went through the runtime of Hadestown, found all the quietest and most emotional moments, and decided to out loud as fuck explosions in the Odyssey at exactly those times as a malicious plot to ruin the moviegoing experience of me, specifically

It was kind of nice during "His Kiss, the Riot," though. The feling of distant explosions rumbling through the theater gave a real cool 4-D experience to Patrick Page's extremely deep voice.

[ID: The @/lesbianjarjarbinks "they aren't actually using pyrotechnics. ray toro can just do that," post edited to read, "that isn't actually sound coming in from the IMAX theater nextdoor. Patrick Page can just do that. End ID.]

My horse (sewing machine) has got colic (an internal knot) and requires veterinary medicine (screwdriver) in the form of exploratory surgery (removing plate) accompanied by anaesthesia (being unplugged.)

But it’s always interesting to remember that this is a very heavy-duty, highly powered power tool - a motor designed for punching and dancing - which generations of people, often women, have fully expected to repair and maintain in their own homes. There’s a large constellation of confidence, mechanical knowledge, repair experience and problem-solving ability embodied in the practice of keeping a domestic sewing machine, and it’s largely invisible to people who don’t know.

Ok so

Your grandmother probably never unplugged or turned off when doing a quick fix, and tbh - the electric parts of the machine being mostly around the motor, and the mechanical parts under the plate being fairly neutral entities - it isn’t usually necessary-necessary.

However, it’s a really good idea to make sure the machine can’t spring into life when your fingers are around the plate - and when your attention is on the problem.

For example, a Mouse or other small child or creature might come over, and helpfully/accidentally press on the foot pedal. A pet might want to stand near you. Your own foot might be negligently lying on the pedal and have a spasm.

Unplug the power cord/foot pedal at the machine end, not at the wall - it’s lazier - and then you don’t have to worry about this happening!
