I think the worst example I've ever seen of yankees' obsession with the idea of latin america being a nazi haven and the figure of the White Latino With Nazi Grandparents™ was that post where a brazilian user was talking about how her german jewish grandparents immigrated to brazil to escape from the nazis and, comoletely unprompted, some yankee ape literally went "are you sure they were FLEEING the nazis? I mean. Brazil. The nazis DID go there"

one day when we were teenagers The Fashion Friend sent one of those twitter dress-up threads where like you get one part of your outfit from your star sign, the other from your birth month, etc. to the group chat and mine had a vivienne westwood crop top which I obviously didn't recognise since I sent my outfit to the gc saying "yeah I liked it, but I think I'd wear the dress over the shirt bc I found the print kind of ugly ^.^" the print being the. vivienne westwood logo. anyway my other, also fashion aware, friend immediately started sending laughing texts while The Fashion Friend explained that Under No Circumstance Should I Ever Cover The ugly ass Vivienne Westwood Logo

Reading Losurdo’s Liberalism has been very eye opening because the justifications for preserving capitalist social relations by the defenders of the system haven’t changed. They talk about working class organization and socialism being an infringement on “liberty”, and that by blocking uncontrolled capital accumulation it’s turning property owners into “political slaves”. The authoritarian line is part of the same old talking points. Ironic because in the same book they are quoted working class cooperation and trade unions are viewed as horrific by them and make no qualms about banning them! No liberty there. Huh?
Also. “Once famous for pillaging the natural world”. Gotta have the racism in there too.

Gnetum looks like a really standard angiosperm tree. even though it is a conifer
Ephedra looks to me sorta like if a horsetail had fruit. even though it is a conifer
