Happy pride month to my dad. When I came out as bi to him, this man googled what it ment, look at me and said "ohh. Yeah. You get that from me. You'd have far more siblings of I only shaged women." And went right back to his work emails.
Everyone reblog this. Mandatory.
I could build a better car than Elon Musk and I don’t know shit about cars, that’s how confident I am about his stupidity
Does anyone remember when Elon Musk suggested using rockets for public transportation. He thought it would be a good idea to strap people to an intercontinental ballistic missile to get them from place to place.
Look up Starship Earth to Earth, it’s fucking stupid.
Holy FUCK
Remember "Reduce, Reuse, Recycle" ? I feel like there's been a distancing from the "reduce" and "reuse" part and a favoritism towards "recycle" by corporate American.
Capitalism can still thrive with recycling in the mix. You buy Plastic Thing 1, throw it away after one use, and they take that and recycle it into Plastic Thing 2 and sell it back to you. All while continuing to harm the environment.
Reusing puts a damper on things. They can't sell you Plastic Thing 2 when you're still using Plastic Thing 1. Plastic forks, for example- there is literally no reason why you can't reuse plastic forks more than once (aside from maybe microplastics, but it's too late for that)
Reducing is the one everyone wants to ignore. Just don't buy Plastic Thing 1. You don't need Plastic Thing 1. Pick up a set of metal forks and use those for years. Convenience is killing the planet
the slogan is in that order for a reason! It is listed in order of effectiveness and impact; if you can't reduce, reuse. If you can't reuse, recycle.
- Refuse what you don’t need
- Reduce what you can
- Reuse everything still in working order
- Recirculate what you don’t need by sharing or selling onward
- Refurbish what’s fallen out of good condition so it lasts longer
- Repair what’s broken altogether
- Repurpose what can’t serve its original function
- Recycle what is unsuitable for repurposing
What goes unsaid here is why they’re all “re-“ prefixed: it’s about circularity. Keeping the resources in use means that we don’t have to keep incurring the environmental costs of production over and over on infinite one-way trips of new stuff starting in the earth, through human society, and right back into the earth in landfill.

Promise me that in 2026:
- You will not use gen-ai to ‘make’ your art better.
- You will get better at art by studying references and practicing.
- You will not feed ai your art or feed anyone else’s art into ai.
- You will not depend on ChatGPT to answer the most mundane questions you will ask a real person that question for an honest answer.
- You will not use gen-ai for references of things that already exist irl and can be easily found in official resources and documentation.

so apparently fren is a dogwistle for fascism somehow. THE CUTE WAY TO SAY FRIEND. fuck my liiiiife
I just looked it up. Apparently far-right circles have started using it to refer to other members of the far right.
Fascists stealing stuff and using it as a dogwhistle isn’t new by the way. Practically every symbol associated with fascism was a symbol used for something else, often from another culture entirely as was the case with the swastika, that fascists hijacked and used to symbolize their evil hate driven ideologies.
CAN THOSE DAMNED FASCISTS STOP HIJACKING EVERYTHING TO MAKE IT ABOUT THEM!!!!
NOOOOOOOOOO
I LITERALLY NEVER REFER TO FRIENDS AS FRIENDS ON HERE
THEY’RE ALWAYS FRENS
WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

"scythes are impractical as a weapon" ok but does anything else have the Cunt. i think not
Scythes aren’t impractical if you’re not a dumbass who doubts the rule of cool
There actually is such a thing as a war scythe, but they don’t look like how you’d expect.
They’re basically garden scythes that have been straightened, and were made in a way that you could jab from a distance, or swing it with enough force to easily chop limbs off. And they were often garden scythes that were converted for combat.
A really cool way that a piece of fiction could adapt the conversion idea is doing something similar to the trick weapons in Bloodborne. For those who aren’t familiar with Bloodborne, trick weapons have two modes that can be switched between.
The more traditional garden scythe form like you see farmers or the Grim Reaper use could be used like a hook to tear away your enemy’s shield or rip off armor plates, or as an oversized war pick. And once their protection is gone, or you need more range.
The blade rotates into the war scythe configuration so that you can start jabbing and slashing.
Okay while that is cool I just mean like I could figure out a shit ton of ways to use a regular scythe to level armies, though I will totally be using this stuff you have here for my books to be actually accurate to reality
The “darker skin is thicker” and “black people have a higher pain tolerance” shit
This is racism.
Isn’t the higher pain tolerance myth used to justify denying black people anesthesia, or am I misremembering something because I remember hearing something about medical racism involving anesthesia, but I don’t fully remember the details.
Yes. When my mom had a tooth removed, the dentist said it didn't need anesthesia because "Black women have high pain tolerance", in his own words.
Black people are denied medical care frequently because of things like this, specially women, but Black men too.
people should be allowed to have low ambition, and also be able to feed a family on the salary of a cashier at a convenience store.
And! We need cashiers. And convenience stores. And I think it's kind of broken that society says people who want to do stuff like that have "low" ambition (not you OP, I get you're using it illustratively because that's what society labels said jobs) and don't deserve to live at the same standard as people with "high" ambitions.
If we need someone to do a job, that job is a role in the community and deserves not just a salary but cultural respect for the role.
"high" ambition jobs are all jobs that involve domineering and controlling others. "low" ambition jobs are all jobs that involve service to others. Have you noticed? Because I have noticed.
But serving others is actually more needed than controlling them.
REblog if you are Asexual, support Asexuals, or spend most of your time actually thinking about Superheroes.
Oh... Ohhhhhhh-
I missed SUPERGIRL in theaters, and much of the trailers left me wanting. After SUPERMAN not only impressed me with its storytelling, but also its bright and colorful visuals that looked better than most recent CBMs, I expected the same for a more attitude-flavored DC movie with a kick-ass superheroine.
As the trailers came out, it just looked like the usual 2010s-era superhero movie muck. Especially baffling considering that the specific comic SUPERGIRL is based on, SUPERGIRL: WOMAN OF TOMORROW, looks like this:
I'm not the first person to say it, but the movie looked like discount MAD MAX in space. That probably contributed to its pretty piss-poor box office. Also, having a man direct the movie was... A choice, on James Gunn's part. And now this director looks to have used generative AI for concept art and pre-visualization (whether Gunn knows about that or not), not dissimilar to what the crew behind GHOSTBUSTERS: FROZEN EMPIRE did in pre-production. I think much more visually good-looking Supergirl movie could've been a moderate success, but it appears they used AI and made it look as "generic superhero/blockbuster movie" as possible... And audiences didn't show up.
You probably know my stance on generative AI by now, but if you're new here and you don't... I think it shouldn't be used in any capacity in the production of a movie. Not for inspiration, even. Especially if it's a comic book movie. Those characters and stories have been around forever, google them! Pick up a comic book! Find it somewhere! Warner Bros. is a multibillion company, and Gillespie has directed big-scale movies before (his $200m-costing CRUELLA for Disney), like there is *zero* excuse here. Like generative AI already hurts the planet, but it's creative bankruptcy. Your brain can be creative, actually, in coming up with stuff. Especially if you have a lot of people working with you... And what's more? This is the OPPOSITE of punk. Punk had very DIY origins, it's arguably the bedrock of the entire movement and culture...
Like, what went so wrong here? SUPERMAN hit the ground running, James Gunn wrote and directed, the CREATURE COMMANDOS animated series is pretty cool... But SUPERGIRL is the exact opposite, some projects that were announced early on look to be fading away... On the small screen front, there's LANTERNS, which has been derided left and right for looking like a Surf Dracula take on Green Lantern, but it could be okay I suppose. CLAYFACE I think will be the pick-me-up, a gnarly R-rated body horror movie with some neat visuals as seen in the latest trailer. MAN OF TOMORROW looks to keep things afloat, being from Gunn himself. Nothing's been scheduled for release after that, though.
It's one movie, though. I think they'll recover. Let's not forget Marvel Studios using AI for SECRET INVASION a few years back, which I don't think anyone liked, let alone even watched... But going forward, let's definitely not go down that kind of road again.
you know i can't say I'm completely surprised that they used ai for the supergirl movie because it felt like they had a robot edit the movie
like i did objectively enjoy it, i love milly as kara, but it felt like they made a james gunn style-inspired movie and then scrambled the order to make it (narratively) weak
like this goes into my larger, more objective criticisms of the film (not the storyline itself but how they pieced it together) which i could honestly make a whole separate post about
So in light of recent events about the Supergirl behind the scenes clips of Lobo's concept art... yeah.
If you haven't seen the clip circulating, it's pretty much calling out the fact that they used AI for concept art on the movie's Lobo design.
Because, you know;
not like there's a ton of damn references to go off of from legitimate artists.
Right? Right? Like as if Jason wasn't holding a copy of the FRAGGIN COMPENDIUM in his trailer seconds before it cuts to them clicking through different AI designs instead.
How hard is it to simply support ACTUAL ARTISTS?! Do they have any idea how much beautiful fraggin' art is out there?!
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA--
So let me get this straight: instead of Warner Bros. using the DC comics, shows and movies as sources when designing the characters in Supergirl, they decide to use AI? Christ, how fucking lazy can you be? 💀
