hey so has anyone else noticed that Dylan is wearing a little charm that looks like a figure with a hole in its head? Dylan, the known mental health risk and long term coma patient, currently carrying a bomb in the back of his head? the literal warning labels weren't enough??
more Control Resonant outfit analysis because i guess this is my niche now
Right side: the Occult Outfit. it's FBC branded which makes me think either a cult has co-opted FBC gear to get closer to them/ worship the Board, OR the FBC has formed a new department dedicated to rituals to passify the Altered Items, along the vein of what Langston wanted to form in Control. the headgear looks to me like a wolf/ dog or bear, but the ears could also be horns. do different agents have different animal motifs denoting certain roles, or is this the one and only uniform? it reminds me of the nursery rhyme dolls you find as Saga in Alan Wake 2, in terms of animals representing human archetypes. to cover your humanity with an archetypal mask makes a lot of sense when you are dealing with objects that feed off of human perception and collective unconciousness, perhaps disrupting the object from viewing you as human, and therefore making it more likely to behave neutrally.
Left side: Hiss Corruption Outfit. love that they kept the office clothes inspo from the concept art! the texture of his skin makes me feel itchy but it is undeniably cool looking and gets across the idea of corruption really well without having to resort to making him glow red and give off smoke and particle effects.
zooming in, i LOVE how his eyes look, taking the red ink in water imagery and making it look like his eyes are almost entirely taken over is subtle but really impactful imagery. we also get a better look at his earpiece, but this one is white instead of black like it is in his regular outfit. I wonder if he still has the head bomb in these outfits? I suppose they must have stuck it in his head in a way that couldn't be easily removed, so the lack of hair wouldn't make much difference if it was, say, nailed through his skull.
Control Resonant (2026)
Imagine making a presentation of a party celebrating the kidnapping of a 10 year old by your government agency SOLELY for the viewing pleasure of the 10 year old.
All the obvious terribleness aside. Dr Darling made a Presentation, with party balloons and hats, to show to the child. He did not throw a party for the child to attend. He did not involve the child physically in any way. He filmed a Party Themed Presentation to Show to a child, and the child is explicilty not allowed to have anything to do with this except watch. Absolutely imperative that the 10 year old remains in his glass box at all times while Dr Darling punches balloons on a screen.
And this is, at most, the first week of Dylan's capture. He should have killed more people.
Dylan “i blacked out all logos and acronyms to do with the FBC from my clothes because FUCK YOU” Faden and they wrote P6 on a bomb he isn't allowed to remove, in a spot he can't see but is very visible to everyone else. ohhhh my god. oh my godddddd.
particularly enjoy this concept art of Dylan and the Abberant for the very upside down idea of the character it would give you if you had no prior information. like:
grey slacks (with belt, normal), button up shirt (sleeves rolled up, also normal), poncho (theoretically fine, but a bit at odds with the rest of the outfit), hospital bracelet (starting to get a little strange), and to complete the look, One Million Knives that bend to his will and are currently forming a spear at his command.
whatever the first impression of that would be, it would be wrong! Dylan has a) never worked in an office and has a maladjusted understanding of office workers in general, b) probably has also forgotten what actual hospitals are and c) has not experienced weather in twenty years. does he even know what a poncho is. rain is an abstract concept to him.
this man has not touched a button or been allowed near anything with laces since he was a small child. shoes were a privilege he did not achieve. he has been in 1 outfit his entire adult life and it is about 2 seam allowances away from shapeless grey sack. and the really huge irony is that the millions of knives is probably the most regular part of his look for him and what he is most familiar with, by a large margin!
since control resonant's marketing seems to have a lot to say about reality warping and Dylan's psyche, I predict we will get a scene similar to Jesse's office worker nightmare, where we see Dylan's deep fear after a Resonant (or maybe Hiss? or maybe a third thing thats a blend of the two?) gets in his head and does something similar to his perception of reality.
there would be a great irony if both siblings had parallel nightmares: Jesse of remaining powerless, and Dylan of becoming Director, a future which he's been groomed and tortured for pretty much his whole life.
new vid by the remedy tiktok account and a lot is confirming things already found (like the plate on the back of dylan's head)!
except for at 0:38, "the board's new sound".
what the fuck! we've mostly been working under the theory that the aberrant is a weapon separate from the board and its influence, but it seems like its the exact opposite!
