Like this is EXACTLYYY what DC knew would happen. People focusing on how cute she is without considering how odd the juxtaposition of a cutesy face with an overt butt shot is. Because in Asian women hypersexualisation & infantilisation go hand-in-hand; those are the two default modes through which people engage with depictions of Asian femininity. It only makes sense that Absolute Cass is simultaneously sexualised and also drawn young and cutesy & that this drives the desire to consume her image. WHATEVERRRR

We absolutely SHOULD celebrate DC greenlighting three Black-led projects with Black creative teams because YAY but!! one of the requests of DCBlackout is that these titles be given immunity from cancellation for 2 years. Obviously we should do our part and preorder & show up for these titles, but DC is also not off the hook yet!!! Stay vigilant and keep demanding better for Black characters, fans, and creatives!!!!
