DID YOU KNOW that sometimes characters lie. out loud to others and internally to themselves, and it'll happen right there on the page. other times they are just flat out wrong and don't know it. oftentimes they don't ever find that out. a sizable portion of any story is decidedly not cold hard fact.
my drawing games from this weekend over @weeklymagmas! I didn't have any ideas for the main theme, but I had a great time at the drawing game!
I always forget that that the 03 turtles are short.
I always picture them like 6ft and then they stand next to casey and i'm like "oh.." .
My participation in this weeks magma hosted by @weeklymagmas
The theme is winter vibes, go join till you can! Unfortunately I'm on tablet this week and the magma on tablet is... Not the greatest, and I don't have the patience.
The Cjj brainrot is back, I love my sonnn.

In animation it is often that the character situated on the left side of the screen is weak, doesn't hold the power in the scene.
In that same breath, something or someone going from left to right gives us the illusion of coming back, while if it is goin in the other direction, they are going away.
In time travel movies, when the time traveler asks 'What year is this?!?' they're always treated like they're being weird for asking.
When in reality, if you go 'What year is this?!?' people will just say '2024. Crazy huh.' and you go 'Wtf where has my youth gone.'
And if you ask 'And what month??' people won't judge you, they'll just go like 'SEPTEMBER!!! Can you believe it?!?!' and you go 'WHAT?!? Last time I checked we were in May?!?'
That is a great point. Especially if you time travel to a period of Big Historical Events, when everybody's looking a little wild about the eyes.
"Hey, what month is it?"
"January already, can you believe it? I swear I was just at Pompeii, but no one's going there again."
In the same vein:
Stumbling into a diner and asking "What town is this" isn't weird, the workers will think you're on a road trip
If you ask them "Where's the nearest Nano Deck?" they'll assume it's a shop they've never heard of and say "Sorry, I don't know where any of those are"
Going into a store and telling a cashier "I need pods for my comm device" will just get you a "Never heard of those, maybe try Radio Shack?"
I think the problem is that people who create sci-fi movies have never had to work customer service jobs
Part of my job as a professor is "help random walk-in students." I get a lot of questions I don't understand. Usually I can figure out what they need, but not always.
Do the AI people know that the rest of us who never got on the bandwagon are still doing everything the same way we always have
The AI boom has changed literally nothing about my day to day life except I now have to work harder to get access to reliable information, all the important admin work is being done wrong, and I keep getting DMs letting me know the perfectly ordinary and plausible photo I liked was actually a fake image generated by a fascist to generate views and churn out ad money for the purpose of funding their tree-powered puppy-flushing toilet
Looks like someone got ahold of a camera. This is for @epicartnerd's DTIYS. Congrats on 3.4K man!! Seeing your growth this past year has been an amazing experience. I can’t wait to see how far you go
Eyyy, America's joining the age verification turbo Panopticon hellscape, starting right in the Texan groin
To those who think this shit is going to stay down south, please don't kid yourself

Oh yeah, I kinda forgot I haven't posted the Doppleganger theme art from last week’s magma
I've been a little busy
Anywho, thank you @weeklymagmas for hosting another thrilling art session! Everyone did amazing with this theme. Love the background with mine, less thrilled about how Liminal Leo came out. Oh well
if you bought any outshine bars recently (as of August 18th 2026) check your fridge I have a recalled box in my freezer
if theres one thing that really pissed me off from my 3 years of architecture i took in high school it's learning about how we used to have all these little techniques to maximize or minimize heat or warmth and now we just merrily abandoned all those to have the same copypaste style buildings everywhere that are often INCREDIBLY unoptimized to the local weather and climate so we can just throw more money at our heating and cooling bills
where i live it is hot as balls approximately 80% of the year. i do not want a massive butt-ugly grey mcmansion with a huge echoey open-concept kitchen-livingroom-foyer-diningroom-staircase that has huge windows so i can have an hvac unit the size of a barge heaving and straining to keep it at a constant 72 the grees. i want a north indian traditional style home with small windows to force the airflow to cool, decorative grates to limit the amount of sunlight, and a COURTYARD with a POND *smashes unspecified large object*
I hate learning about instances of "oh yeah we know how to do that, we just don't".
Mentioned to my mom I'm asexual a couple months ago and today.... we got into the car and she hit me with, "So you use they/them pronouns now?"
I went, "What. no. she/her."
"How does that work? With she/her/hers and they/them?"
I stared at her. "What are you talking about?"
"Well you came out as-" and I said, "I'm asexual."
She replied, "Like an amoeba, I know."
"Oh. My god. No. Mom. It doesn't- it's not the asexual you learned about in biology. I didn't come out as a single celled organism."
With heavy relief, she said "Oh, it has a different meaning?"
"Yes, mom."
