Jumping Monkey Update II
(I know what you're thinking, internets. Don't go there. There's nothing electric going down. :P )
(Okay, fine. I know you went there anyway. I hope you have busfare back.)(Depending on your locale, they might not have bus service. Did you get the number of a cab company, or arrange a ride? Hush, you people with decent metro systems. We're talking about going Way Out There, not down in the urban core.)
So.
Revised.
That's what they call it when they take a scalpel and create a fresh wound so that they can suture a laceration a week after the original injury. Poor Monkey. a gaping wound with healing with "secondary intent", and still oozing a bit of blood. All set for a really ugly scar, and a rather long course of healing. So we've gone for the stitches route.
Brave monkey squeaked during a lot of it, and tried to whip his head a few times. Evidently the numbing didn't work as well as anyone hoped, and there was much protest of "no more poke!" Not easy for Mommy, either. Hard, hard, hard when I've been trying to teach him about bodily autonomy and consent. Still easier to bear than what happened before he was two weeks old.
Back in 6 days for suture removal. Unsurprisingly, they weren't interested in charging me more.[1] Wish they'd done it better in the first place. Still so very, very glad for all of your help.
[1] I live in a *really* litigious zipcode. But I'd rather have this resolved than gun for a punitive settlement later.
