Go ahead and add me to your flist. I'd appreciate a note letting me know that you have.
Don't assume anything based on the presence of any names in my flist - I don't trim as vigorously as many others do. All it means is that I don't mind having that account reading my "locked to general" posts. I also don't necessarily read all of my flist at any given time. Depending on my time constraints, I may be reading none of it, or a very small subset - I don't change it by trimming my list, I change it by editing my Default View.
If you know me offline, please ask me before you link my offline and online names in a publically accessible place.
Addendum: I'm an L.A. native. I'll tolerate a lot in my journal, but gratuitous L.A. or California bashing is not welcome here. Go do that somewhere else.

Those of you who remember my previous name and photo policy should note that it's no longer in effect.I'm no longer attempting to maintain a veil of separation between my offline and online selves. [Edited 23 Oct 2011 - being a single mother of two, I unfortunately feel a need to shield them from fallout for my more "radical" postings on politics and justice, but at the same time feel even more urgency about trying to change the world for the better for their sake as well as everyone else's.]
Most importantly:
Debate is one thing. Dragging in fights from other places is another. I don't like seeing feuds taking over other peoples' journals, and I don't want them in mine. Be civil here, please. (It hasn't been a problem thus far, but I'd hate for it to become one in the future.)

I like escapism when it lets me escape. It *really* sucks when the escape vehicle turns out to aim me RIGHT BACK at the stuff I was trying to escape from.
