question

How much are the tickets? I know joining the fanclub is $40, but i can't seem to find any info on how much the tickets are.. Is it the usual $30-$60?

ugh. i wish i had more notice about their tour.

Running Down a Dream

So, I finally got a chance to sit down and watch the film "Running Down a Dream".
I only made it through one disc because it is too late to watch the other disc. Even though I really want to.
My neighbors are already mad about the first two hours because it is not close-captioned and I'm hard of hearing :(
I'm not complaining and I'll watch the other disc tomorrow earlier in the day, but it is kind of frustrating that I have to stop watching because the concert clips are louder than the talking and I can't even hear some of the interviews.
So, now the waiting is the hardest part.... ;)

hopefully this doesn't get me flamed

i've been a tom petty fan for about, god, 20 years now. one thing i've always looked up to him for was his stance against screwing his fans for money. this was most obvious in 1981 when his record label wanted his upcoming album to be one of the first records sold for $9 or something. so he threatened to name the album $8.45 or whatever in protest of the idea that his fans should pay more for his album for no real reason other than to pad the pockets of his record label.

this is why i am completely mystified about this highway companion rerelease when the disc has only been out a year. so now, for $20 you can get 4 new songs (two of which are demos, and two of which were obviously not deemed strong enough to be put on the initial pressing) and two postcards and a leatherbound disc (which even strikes me odd since tom is a vegetarian i think)

so yeah, does anyone else find this whole thing kind of tacky?
