“Let me see 'em again,” Mal demands and Castiel doesn't like how Mal somehow manages to sneak up on him.

He's sitting up on the bridge as he's wont to do when there's no one else there, toying with one of Wash's dinosaurs and staring out at the vast amount of nothing before them. But there are stars and planets and the ingenuity of man which isn't nothing at all and all that continues to fascinate Castiel. Much like the man who now stands behind him with arms crossed, stern and likely prepared for rejection. It's the first time Mal has spoken to him in three days. Castiel could not reject him.

The shadow of his wings fill the bridge and for a moment Mal appears unmoved. Then he reaches forward, somehow finds where Castiel's wing is solid and plucks out a feather to Castiel's sharp “Ow” at the sting.

Between Mal's thumb and forefinger, the feather becomes more than a shadow and tinges to a dark blue when Mal holds it to the light. It looks no more fantastic than a Raven's feather.

“You owe me something,” Mal explains and Castiel gives a single nod before Mal turns and walks off the bridge. For all the time he took to find Mal and all the men he failed to save, Castiel can give him this.

It’s when Mal kisses him that Castiel starts worrying about not having been entirely honest with the man. He’s run with the crew of Serenity for some months now. He – like the rest of the crew – has his own secret background that makes him a perfect fit for this ship and Mal has never asked him about it before. Mal knows what he figures he needs to. Castiel is not here to hurt him or his people.

But Castiel has left out one very important fact about himself. One that would skew this moment, he’s sure. He puts his hand on Mal’s chest to press him away and says “I’m an Angel of the Lord.”

Mal stares at him for a long moment before a grin breaks and he laughs. “An angel?”

“Of the Lord.”

And Mal keeps laughing until he can see that Castiel isn’t, this isn’t a joke because Castiel doesn’t joke. “Bullshit.”

Castiel shows him in the shadow and whisper of his wings. Mal takes a step back then turns and walks away but Castiel isn’t worried. After all, he’s dealt with this before when once Mal was Dean and Castiel will always be able to bring him around.

In an effort to fulfill some wishlist requests. This one is written for... wornoutbirks. And congrats, you've set me off on an epic Firefly rewatching and omg, missing, spree. And have made me want Simon/Castiel. Or possibly Gabriel/Castiel wherein they are still kicking around in the future and helping Mal and crew kick the ass of Reavers who are actually really Croats. ;) With Mal/Simon side plot.

But yeah...just something cute and short here. Lots of thanks to lvs2read for the beta! *hugs*

Finally! I so quit writing this fic! *washes hands of it*

This being for the Simon Kinkathon over at talkcrazy. It's written for lawpup, who wanted Mal/Simon (with either Jayne or Wash if I wanted), heavy bdsm (don't think I got that really) and Mal learning to submit (sorta got that).

This fic killed me.

Rated NC-17 for bondage stuff. Takes place after Serenity, where (of course) Zoe dies instead of Wash. Enjoy!

Ah, this is another Mal and Simon fic. But it's gen. Kaylee's in it a bit too. It even has bits of Simon/Kaylee. It's for another santa exchange, this one is serenity_santa. It's the final gift for lechatnomade. I had no clue what to write... And this fic turned out so very different from what it was meant to be...
