My crew agreed that once again the Marriott with M Lounge access and the concerts are an unmatched pairing for Essence Fest if you enjoy being in the middle of the action. There aren't gonna be a lot of celebrity or influencer sightings, just grown folks vibing, DJs spinning, and importantly a staff that embraces the Essence crowd.

At the end of the day it's always the CONCERTS for me. I only missed 2 acts all weekend. I sang and danced my heart out to every set and in between. My favorite was Babyface hands down, but my favorite night was Sunday because every set was unique to Essence. Sometimes it's not about the biggest names that headline their own tours; it's that something you just had to be there to experience. The best part of Essence isn't gatekept behind invite-only velvet ropes; it's the people on & off stage.
