Hello - in case I have yet to be introduced, my name is Rachel and I am the co-mod for 'TheSocialites. In light of the present condition of this community, I would like to say that I am thrilled with the sudden surge of posting by our members. However, mean and derogatory comments are completely unnecessary to this positive environment. Also, I would like to suggest that many of you research the true definition of the term "socialite," before you consider joining or leaving this community.
I'm sorry if a certain number of you have nothing better to do than stalk random members on LiveJournal and create farce user names to harass them in communities that you, yourself, admit to which you should not belong.
This community will now have closed membership and restricted posting abilities. All irrelevant comments/posts from here on will be deleted by either myself, or by my co-mod Melanie.

Bonjour and good day to all of you. My name is Miss Sarah Elizabeth Catherine [insert last name here]. Isn't it just so irritating when colleges send you mail addressed to Ms. so-and-so? I'm not eighteen until June 2005, thank you very much, so I'd appreciate it if the colleges and universities would get that right.
Anyway, some information on me. On my father's side of the family, I'm a Monroe, a Stewart, a Plantagenet, and a Capet. My daddy's relatives are horsey people. On my mother's side, I'm a Jefferson, and my great-granddaddy's family owned MacArthurn Boulevard in D.C. until the Depression. I live in Northern Virginia, surrounded by the dot-com nouveau riche, tacky McMansions, and hideous lack of fashion sense. Thank God a Lilly boutique just opened, or I might have died from the sheer ugliness. My father handed me a copy of The Official Preppy Handbook when I was eleven and said, "Read it, learn it, live it, Goddammit." I attend an exclusive Catholic prep school, which is populated by jappy girls who carry their (out-of-date) Louis Vuitton purses and think it entitles them to a deb. *sigh* Such is life.

Hey people!! I'm new here and I just wanted to say what's up and look around. This is definitely the place for me! I live in Indianapolis, Indiana. I go to a prep school called Park Tudor and I have 4 houses around the world. One in Greewich, Connecticut, one in St. Tropez, France, I have a flat in Paris and a flat in Manhatten, NYC. My whole world is fashion and shopping and I'm happy to be here!! So yay!
