Great Loss: Anne McCaffrey RIP
While I have yet to read any books by Anne McCaffrey, I know about her and her series of books (Dragon Riders of Pern). I actually have a list of her books tucked away in my "to find and read" stack. What huge loss to the Science Fiction an Fantasy world!

Anne McCaffrey, ‘Dragonriders of Pern’ Author, Dies
Anne McCaffrey, author of the “Dragonriders of Pern” series, has died. She was 85 years old.
Her publisher Random House reportedly announced that the author passed away after suffering a stroke.
McCaffrey’s books about a distant planet in which some inhabitants rode telepathic dragons to combat deadly falling alien Threads are considered seminal works of fantasy fiction. The books combined mythic inspiration, sci-fi and adventure.

Book Eight Is Titled
Written In My Own Heart's Blood! That is the title of book eight of Diana Gabaldon's Outlander Series. Diana tells us over at this blog post.
She also goes on to tell us that she thought the title would have something to do with the Gaelic term "A chuisle," which means "my heart's blood," referring to a child. Jamie uses this a lot in the books. I can recall several times he uses it with Bree and Jemmy.
She even hints that there are going to be a heck of a lot of family relationships in this book. Do we still suspect the possibility of Roger meeting his father-in-law as a child or even Jamie's siblings? Can we wait? NO!
Diana also doesn't seem to think it will be the this will be the last book but she isn't positive on that regard. She also mentions death and says Jamie has been dead several times without fatality. Funny. She's tortured us, doesn't she know? I do believe she intends to torture us further.
