Joey: Oooh, the next part's the best, when that dead lady in the bathtub--

Rachel: Oh, no, meh-nah-nah-nah, come on, you're gonna ruin it!

Joey: Alright, I'll talk in code. Remember when the kid sees those two blanks in the hallway? ... Oh, all blank and no blank makes blank a blank blank! Oh, no no no, the end when Jack almost kills them all with that blank, but then at the last second they get away, aw!

Rachel: Joey, I can't believe you just did that! ... Alright, okay, Laurie proposes to Jo, and she says no, even though she's still in love with him, and then he ends up marrying Amy!

Joey: HEY! Mine was by accident! Alright, the boiler explodes and destroys the hotel and kills the dad.

Rachel: Ha. Beth dies.

Welcome to bethdies! We provide a fun, friendly, and organized atmosphere to get your bookworm on. You can talk about the books you’re currently reading, read along with us on our current group read, or chat about books/tv/movies/life/etc. in our frequent chat posts. Basically, good times will be had by all.

Once you join, you can check out our explanatory post for new members HERE, but for now, here’s a quick cheat sheet of what to expect:
  • Daily(-ish): Chat posts; usually book-related, but we’re a fan of OT here so they could be about anything
    Book discussion posts; made by mods or members for individual books we’d like to discuss

  • Mondays: Currently Reading posts; tell us what you’re currently reading and how you’re enjoying it!

  • Every other week(-ish): Recommendations posts; give and get recommendations from your fellow bethdies members!

  • Monthly (depending on activity and schedules and other boring things): Members vote on which book to read together next! We pull from a list of suggested upcoming reads and will do our best to give ample time for members to get their hands on a copy of the selected book. (And keep in mind, group read participation is 100% optional! People have lives, we get it.)
  1. NO BASHING. We all have our own opinions and preferences. Tiffany Twihard may think Breaking Dawn is the greatest novel ever written while you think it’s a steaming pile of elephant dung. If you can’t discuss your differing viewpoints nicely and rationally, just agree to disagree, okay?

  2. DON’T BE A DICK. Don’t say mean things to each other, do not use racial or homophobic slurs, etc., etc.. (This is just a good rule of thumb for life, so take it to heart.)

  3. PLEASE FOLLOW POSTING GUIDELINES. You will find them in the NEW MEMBERS post. It makes life a lot easier for your friendly neighborhood mods.
