Haven't even loaded the main LJ page in a while. Things are busy. I've been on leave and getting ready to go on deployment the second week of September. Not really ready for it. Things were so hectic and I feel like I have to do everything RIGHT NOW. Sad. I haven't really talked to a lot of my friends in so long. I miss them. I feel like I'm just drifting all the time. I can't wait until I retire and stay in one place and have people be constant in my life, even the assholes. Why do I sound like I'm so depressed when I write on here? Maybe because I sort of am, and I know this is my sounding board, whether anyone is listening or not.
Seriously. I guess I haven't been around much. Not a whole lot going on. Well, at least not anything worth posting about. The yards sucked, but life at sea has been sucking more. We go on deployment in about three months, and I haven't been home for more than a month since March. Life has been hectic and my work days while inport Norfolk have been so long that I might as well be underway. I have no life to speak of and all I do is catch up on TiVo and sleep. I haven't cooked myself a meal in almost a month. I'm bitchy, I'm tired, and I now have a scar on my head from running into a pipe on the ship.
I have to go back to work tomorrow. Not really looking forward to it. The ship is in the yard downtown, and I have no idea how to get there. Wish me luck driving all over downtown at 5:30 in the morning and finding the parking lot where I'm supposed to leave my car, overnight. Of course my first day back is my duty day. Why wouldn't it be? And I'll probably run into Chad as well. That's just makes it perfect.
I heard that if the year starts crappy, it ends up really good. That should be interesting, seeing as I'll be in the middle of a deployment. Well, at least I know it can only get better from what is currently is.
Can I just start off this post with a totally random thought? It seems as though I'm making up for lost posts, aren't I?
So my day began at a god-awful 7:30 this morning with a text from my best friend back home. Something about my ass being lazy and did I think it was by birthday or something. I spent most of the day in my jammies (what can be better than that?) watching season 2 of Bones before having a lunch of chocolate cake and red spumanti. I then met some friends at Gators for dinner before heading back here to chill out. I decided to wear my Ta-Tas t-shirt from Save the Ta-Tas.
This is the one I wore:
On the personal front - I woke up feeling rather happy. Yeah, Chad is a lying jerkface, but I knew it wasn't going to last. And now that I'm older, I think maybe I'm ready to settle down. Though I do have to meet someone first. That part is a little difficult since I don't go out much. Sad, but true. It will happen in its own time.
So for now, I think I'm going to sit back and see what 35 has in store for me.
Of my vacation, anyway. It's been a nice 30 days off, let me tell you. Tomorrow I report to the ship. Whoopee.
I still haven't finished unpacking. I'm not sure I'm ever going to get done.
I did make something today:
It holds all my dangle earrings so they don't get all twisted and stuff. Just a frame, some screen material, some velvet and a staple gun. Easy enough.
Thought for the day: Being alone isn't so bad - there are no arguments, except with yourself.
Well, I just reenlisted for my last hitch. Just 4 years and one month to go. Then I'll finally be able to go home. I'm so excited!
I'm still working on the new el-jay theme. I kind of got sidetracked with all the packing out and checking out stuff. Shit, by the time I finish it, it will be time to change it again!
It broke the 100 degree mark, finally. I swear I'm going to be cold when I go home next weekend. NEXT WEEKEND! Can you believe that? Just seven days and a wake up. YAY!
Things have been crazy here. Between getting ready for my pack out tomorrow and trying to get in as much buddy time as I can, I haven't really had the inclination to post anything. But I only have 17 more days! w00t!
Well, since tomorrow will be a stressful day, I'm heading off for some wine and relaxation. Maybe I'll even work on a new theme.
I wish my fucking D on my keyboard wasn't half-ass broken!
I've changed my date to transfer. I'm requesting June 1st instead of the 8th. I want to have a few days leave before I start school so I can go home, see the parents and nab my car. I'm really excited, but a bit overwhelmed as well. I have so much to do, but I have no idea where to start. *sigh*
Well, I'm off like a prom dress. Some friends are coming by and I have a wee bit of cleaning left to do.
So let me say this first off - if there a missing letter that is a "D", please forgive me. I got mad at my laptop and I broke the D key. I can hit it as long as I think about it, but forget typing fast.
Things are okay over here in the sandbox. A little stressful. I can't wait to go to sea. I am getting so burned out. The next four years until I retire cannot go by fast enough. *sigh* I seem to work with the most narrowminded people in the world. Luckily, It changes often thanks to the military transfer thing.
I don't feel myself, and I haven't for a while. I don't seem to have the energy to do the things I used to love to do. I can't even write journal entries like I used to. Ah well. Maybe some day it will stop being all wonky and get back to normal. One could hope, right?
