FreeRyde smart card registration for smart cards are valid through high school graduation (or 18th birthday, if after HS graduation). If you have received a new smart card (September 2024 or later), you do not need to get a new card every year.

TCAT will provide the first FreeRyde smart card at no charge. Cost for replacement card is $3. Cards are durable and designed to last 5 years.
Passes are needed only for youth from the ages of 14 and 17 (or older if still enrolled in high school or homeschooled.)
Those 13 and younger should simply board and ride. Those 5 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
TCAT reserves the right to verify the above information with school, youth organization or social service agency.
TCAT neither uses personal information, other than to distribute and verify fare media, nor do we sell information to any third-party.
Please note: If deemed necessary, TCAT bus drivers may ask riders for proof of age to present on that person’s next ride to verify eligibility for the FreeRyde pass.
