Her eyes as gentle as a fawn's,
she came to you,
you foolish man.

Her muzzle rested lightly
in your palm, but then you saw
the wings unfold from under all that mane.
She smiled and you knew
too late
she wore no bit at all
with the moonlight sparking bright
upon her fangs.
