Fail Fandom Anon Official Move Announcement

On July 5, 2014 Fail Fandom Anon will officially move to Dreamwidth. For the last four years the meme has found a welcoming home on LiveJournal. Due to the increasing extended technical outages of LiveJournal service and the unreliability of the LiveJournal platform we will be moving by choice -- before a LJ collapse forces a sudden relocation.

http://fail_fandomanon.dreamwidth.org is the new primary location for Fail Fandom Anon.
http://fail_fandomanon.livejournal… will remain available for posting and will be moderated as usual during the transition between now and July 5, and for an as-yet undefined time afterwards.

The Mod team will be making an announcement regarding the location of the meme this weekend. We are still finalizing and discussing details.

The announcement will be posted in all the usual places, you won't miss it.

In the meantime, please use whichever meme site you want. We will open new posts for both DW & LJ as needed. We are not making a decision based on how many posts you make at each one or anything like that, so just use them freely.

In that spirit, LJ vs DW wank is temporarily banned. You are welcome to discuss tips and tricks for either site - formatting and the like. But LJ/DW wank is going to be frozen. We are not going to be having a poll or soliciting any additional information from the nonnies on the topic - we have a solid four years of input on the issue.

a) Sometimes science is a wonderful, wonderful thing for fandom. Soon, we won't need to invent tropes anymore, but will be able to crack open an issue of Scientific American or National Geographic or Entomology Today or some other fine journal, and just start writing the AUs from there.

b) We can acknowledge that mantises may actually be reasonably vanilla when it comes to insect sex.

At the intersection of world building & tastelessness - FFA Post #313

So in one of the post-apocalyptic slavefic futures - where discovery as a sekrit mutant/omega/guide/wizard/teen wolf results in human trafficking - I have a world-building question:

Who pays off the newly enslaved sekrit X's student loans? In the US, nothing short of death discharges them. $200k owed is not at all unusual. This could upset the fundamental economic dynamics of the world. Is an omega worth having to spend the next 20 years trying to hide from the collection agency and Sallie Mae?

I am focusing on the wrong part of these stories.

There is a valid argument to be made that if Hogwarts switched to more powerful electric lighting, there would be a 72% reduction in student injuries and fatalities from all sources. It's a lot harder to be killed by a Basilisk when you can see it coming.
