We make space for
people to grow.

To rethink and reimagine for our clients, we have to first do the same for ourselves. We chose the name STUDIOS as a testament to an inclusive vision, rather than a monument to the genius of a few. We rally talent and knowledge around the challenges and potential of our clients. Our diversity and purposefully non-hierarchical structure allow us to take on all kinds of projects, work with clients as partners, and bring uncommon rigor and insight to everything we do.

Because we believe that community matters, we support our people, their passions, and the issues they care about. We offer mentorship and ongoing educational and training opportunities, as well as fun, creative outings and events that allow us to connect with each other outside of project teams. We enjoy taking part in the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Real Estate Games, planting community gardens with the New York Restoration Project, and transforming parking spaces into mini-parks for Park(ing) Day, among other community activities.

We’re looking for risk-taking, team-working, self-starting, problem-solving, boundary-pushing, non-conforming, intellectually engaging contributors from all backgrounds, with wide skill sets and even wider curiosity. Join us in applying creative thinking without limits, to realize solutions beyond expectation.

Who You Are

You are passionate about the impact of design on people's lives and thrive on bringing strategy, clarity, and momentum to complex, multi-layered projects. You are collaborative by nature and enjoy both teaching and learning from others, understanding that the best outcomes come from exploration and the open exchange of ideas. You are a proactive and creative problem-solver with strong analytical skills, as well as a skilled communicator who builds lasting relationships with colleagues, clients, consultants, and contractors. • Capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously and independently, as well as coordinating across a broader portfolio alongside other project managers and firm partners.
  • Experience creating project proposals and fees, reviewing and managing contracts and invoices, and collaborating with internal and external accounting teams on billing and financial reporting.

  • Must have exceptional communication and organizing skills.
  • Proficiency in Revit, Google Workspace, and Deltek Vantagepoint required.
  • Licensure as an Architect or Interior Designer (or active pursuit) is a strong plus.
  • Experience working within an international or multi-office practice is a strong plus

Qualities sought to succeed in this role include a talent for building trust across all levels, with project teams, firm partners, and clients alike. Strong presentation and communication skills are very important.

Born from Innovation

San Francisco is where STUDIOS’ story began. Since 1985, we’ve worked with and grown alongside Silicon Valley innovators and Bay Area based disruptors. Our impact is now seen and felt far beyond the world of tech. We’ve designed commercial interiors and headquarters for clients in media, entertainment, law, finance, and other industries. Our projects also include new buildings and renovations for education and civic clients, major urban developments, and performing arts centers in China. Our approach, solutions, and identity are indelibly shaped by the Bay Area culture of innovation. Throughout our work, we push for more sustainable building materials and methodologies, and integrate technology to improve design, building performance, and the experience of people—ourselves, our partners, and all those who live and work in the spaces we create.

Our team is creative and passionate, and always learning from one another. We also love to come together and get to know one another outside of project work through a variety of activities, such as Fireside Chats hosted by our Practice Group, design discourse at STUDIOSalon, drawing sessions, employee art shows, themed happy hours, summer picnics, our softball team The Studi-o's, and more.

Mission-Driven by Design

You can find us in the very SoHo loft where we first opened our office doors in 1995. Since then, we’ve expanded our team—from three to 70 people—and our impact. Servicing a multitude of leading organizations looking for high-level design solutions to advance their mission and strategic vision, our projects run the gamut from Nike’s award-winning headquarters to the long-term repositioning of Chelsea Market to the vast regeneration of Kearny Point. Applying a wide range of perspectives to every challenge, our teams thrive on complex projects that require fresh thinking and openness to new approaches.

As true New Yorkers, we play as hard as we work, and we care about our communities. We’re always eager to compete in a softball or bowling league, seek out inspiration in design showrooms and on project tours, or enjoy a pantry happy hour. Volunteering our time and skills comes naturally to us, too. We’ve planted gardens with New York Restoration Project and invited students in to learn about the profession we love. In the office and out in our city, we’re a team. Together we look to the future and play our part in making it brighter.

Inspiring Creative Transformation

Our office first opened in 1999 to more closely partner with STUDIOS’ notable clients in media and entertainment. From the start, we had the opportunity to take on large-scale projects with some of the biggest names in the business: Disney, Warner Bros., and Cartoon Network. Since then, we’ve grown our presence and impact across Southern California and beyond, working with university clients, tech companies, law firms, and retailers on interiors, innovation, and new building designs.

Whether we’re turning a world-renowned culinary destination into a sustainability superstar, or helping a studio for animators embrace its higher purpose as a hub of creative inspiration for artists, we believe in the power of design to transform. Our expansive approach pulls insight and inspiration from across boundaries of expertise, and is tailored to each client’s vision, values, and needs. To our work in the office, and our volunteer efforts out in the community, we bring an openness to meeting new people, exploring new frontiers, and discovering new possibilities.

Based in the heart of Paris, our office was originally established in 1992 to serve US-based clients active in Europe. Since then we have grown by leaps and bounds in France, throughout Europe, and into the Middle East, partnering with innovative end users, real estate developers, investors, and proprietors to shape people’s lives and positively impact the places they live and work.

Our core focus has been workplace innovation and urban regeneration, with a unique balance of both interiors and base building projects. Our expertise has now extended to a wide variety of projects ranging from hotels to public sports facilities.

We strongly emphasize sustainability and wellbeing as essential to creating resilient environments and communities. We have developed specialized knowledge in wood constructions and cradle-to-cradle strategies, and certified our own offices WELL Platinum.

Representing 15 nationalities, our multicultural team of 65 includes architects, interior designers and change management experts who all excel at understanding the needs and challenges of our international clients. We broad expertise in meeting global and local requirements, as well as managing linguistic, cultural and regulatory nuances. This rich diversity has fueled our ability to adapt, experiment, and drive forward-thinking solutions for clients across multiple countries and industries.

The Paris office has obtained ISO quality certification for architectural design and construction project management. ISO is a well-known designation of very high standards and quality services across Europe and other parts of the world.

Positioned to Serve and Grow

Our newest outpost is a welcoming office at the center of dynamic Lyon. Founded in 2019, this location leverages and builds upon our previous experience in the city, a place rich in history and alive with possibility. Some of our most talented architects manage projects here locally, as well as in Grenoble and in Arles. Our goal is to ensure thorough and efficient follow-up for our existing clients and to position ourselves for new opportunities in this vibrant region.

Building on Trusted Partnerships

Founded in 2012, we’re here to support a core tenet of STUDIOS—hands-on collaboration with clients and project teams. As many of our multinational clients began looking to India, we responded by establishing an office to continue and strengthen these valued relationships. Bringing the openness, optimism, and holistic approach we’re known for, our team is able to pursue and realize the full potential of the corporate and institutional campuses and residential complexes we design there.

We work hand in hand with our trusted local partners, whose nuanced perspective and in-depth regional knowledge is key to our ability to deliver solutions that fulfill needs, transcend the status quo, and move organizations and people forward. Our experience in Mumbai has shown that the city is a natural fit for our approach, with a cultural appreciation for craft that balances visionary and technical excellence, while embracing sustainability as fundamental to success.
