(11) BWS: Lee Jonghyun

Perhaps the reason why I've taken so long to make the 11th BWS is because this boy has been my bias for a while now because of how much I admire his personality and character. Not in a I WANT HIM TO BE MY BOYFRIEND kind of way

I had a lot of saved quotes, pictures, tumblr likes of this boy. It was more the process of elimination of what to post in this entry because I had bits and pieces of compiled info of him everywhere.

This is not a pimp post - just me purely flailing how much I adore this Busan boy…aka the first Korean boy to add to my BWS archive. ;)

Let me introduce to you the burning Lee Jonghyun!

I think that this has to be my longest BWS entry. I just really find Jonghyun admirable because he went through so many pathways to find out what he really wanted to do career wise. That...and he always gives his 100%!

I guess...this turned out to be a full pimp post xD I spent quite a few hours on this entry and now I've got to rush to my night shift! So much for sleeping -_-" will edit this entry another day!

Ranting: A Jmovie & A Jdrama

**This entry may contain minor spoilers** omfg I love SPEC to bits

SPOILERS IN COMMENTS

Towards the end of last year, there weren't really any movies/dramas that seemed to appeal to me. Sometimes there would be a great plot, but by the second episode the drama would fail OR it would have a great cast, but the plot would make me grimace. I think it boils down to me watching too many dramas, having high expectations of a drama/actor/actress or me merely being insanely picky - which I believe is the real reason.

When I was beginning to lose hope, I stumbled across Parade & SPEC. It was pleasant to end the year with a great movie and a sensational drama. For the drama, SPEC, it had been the first time for a long time that I'd be curiously anticipating each episode. Those are the type of dramas that I love <3

Now that I've seen both Parade & SPEC, I was just wondering if anybody of you could recommend me any dramas/movies starring Kase Ryo or Fujiwara Tatsuya that you think I should really watch? Kase Ryo really stood out with his performance in SPEC, so I want to see some more of him. ;)

Manhattan Love Story

So we have complicated love triangles, love squares ..but alas, this drama has the ultimate love web of doom. In actuality, it somewhat mocks and ridicules love 'triangles' as a whole.

Manhattan Love Story isn't a drama to be taken seriously. It's for pure unique amusement. When the main protagonist 'Tencho', portrayed by TOKIO's Matsuoka Masahiro ♥ AKA Mabo), is the coffee shop's owner who is ONLY passionate about coffee and caring about whether his customers drink it, what do you expect? Little by little, Tencho finds himself listening in on his regular customers and slowly becoming involved in the complicated love web that brews in his shop...

This beats all love triangles. See? Coffee's even in the middle of it all! And when you think you've got it all figured out, another person jumps on the train of the twisted romance web.

After each episode you watch, you get accustomed to the regular customers/characters and either warm up, get frustrated or laugh at them. Despite this drama not being set in the typical high school or having a flashy hot cast (then again, they're flashy in their own ways), it's a really great watch. Since the cast are mainly regulars that go to 'Manhattan' (the name of the shop), their ages are all different. Not to mention, the character development was very good.

It's very heart-warming when you stumble across these dramas once in a while. :)

There are still quite a handful of dramas/movies I want to review, but I'll leave it at here for now ^^

Utahime Review

Starring: Nagase Tomoya, Aibu Saki, Ohkura Tadayoshi, Sato Ryuta {2007}

Nagase Tomoya plays two roles in this drama, one set in the present (Koizumi Akira) and the other set in the 1950s (Shimato Taro). Akira's mother, who is a popular strongstress, tells him to go to a small town in the Kochi Prefecture to watch the last movie before its cinema closes down. When Akira arrives there, he ends up watching the movie & this is where the 'real' story begins.

The whole drama focuses on the movie that Akira is watching. It's about a young soldier who is found washed ashore by the Kishida family, and consequently has lost his memory in the process. Kishida Suzu (Aibu Saki) renames him as Shimanto Taro (Nagase Tomoya) after he is adopted as part of the Kishida family who runs the town's little cinema. Ten years has past and he still hasn't regained his memory, but continues to happily live in the town making many good friends, discovering a passion for movies and slowly falling in love with the Kishida family's youngest daughter, Kishida Suzu...

Just from writing all that and the number of screencaps I've posted up, I guess that I did like Utahime after all. I should have downloaded all the episodes. For me, it started off boring, but as it progressed (probably turning point ep 3-4 in), I began to like it. Give it a try at least til episode 4 if you're thinking about watching it ;) *cough* jasj *cough* I reckon you can even get by with skipping episodes 1 & 2.

I really have to stop with all these drama/movie reviews. They go hand-in-hand with my procrastination, unfortunately. I really admire people who blog about each episode or movie they watch so in depth. I don't think I'd have patience to do it all the time.
