Hi Everybody!!!

It really sucks that I have to say goodbye now, right when I just got used to being around again. We're going home tomorrow. We have electricity and decent water, so there's really no reason to stay here. More things are opening up every day at home, so it shouldn't be long before things are more or less back to normal. I live on the other side of the Mississippi from New Orleans, so we didn't get it as bad as those poor bastards did. Unfortunately, the cable's out and phones are still down, so I'll be cut off from the internet for a while. It really blows, too, because it looks like I have no job anymore, so I'll have PLENTY of time to sit around and play on the internet that I don't have. Grrrrrr.

I swear, I'm just gonna go be a barista at Starbucks. I've always wanted to know how to make all that shit. College degree be damned!

Anyhoo, billions and trillions of thanks to you all for the recs. I haven't had a chance to make my way through all of them, since I've been with boy 24-7 for twenty or so days (and we actually still like each other....who would have thought), but I'm greedily looking forward to going thru it all once I get back online, and plan to read nonstop until I'm done with every last one. I'll also be eternally grateful for continued recs, as I'll miss tons of lurvely things as I serve my internet-free sentence back in the wasteland that was my home. I wonder if the Starbucks wireless network is up again....hmm, yet another reason to work there.

Lord, boy keeps reading me excerpts from his alien book. Yes, yes, we are hybrids of an alien race that settled here 4000 years ago, love, I agree, mmhmm. So not interested unless it's the delicious UST of Mulder and Scully. But alas, I ramble....please keep your fingers crossed that we can cram all of the shit we have recently acquired into my poor car along with the 3 bird cages and dog. Fucking hurricanes.
