Ugh, just voted. I went strategic rather than voting for who I really wanted, but such is life. I will do anything to keep the Conservatives from forming another government, minority though it may be. It's going to happen anyway. It depresses me. At least then they can push through the motion to find them in contempt. I will likely be up til the wee hours watching the results. Maybe I can get some writing done in the meantime.
I've already watched this several times but I needed to put it here for easy access. NEGL, I was tearing up watching this. (The bit with Harry reaching for Lily's hand!) And it's only the trailer. I'm going to be such a mess when I watch it.
The Brat just informed me that they are supposed to dress up as princes and princesses for school on Friday in celebration of the Royal Wedding. I laughed heartily. And then I tried to convince him to wear a tiara. He is not on board.
I've renamed! It took me forever and a day to decide on something, and of course I ended up with the very first name I'd considered. That is oh so typical of me. I've also got a new layout, which I'm not quite sure about. It's pretty but not all that user friendly.
So, seeing as I haven't been here in an age:
5 Things Important Things That I Have Been Up To:
1. Since last I was here, I've moved half way across the country to the wilds of the Toronto suburbs. Which I detest.
2. Seeing as things around these parts are generally preferrable to people, I have developed somewhat of a shopping addiction. This makes The Boy Very Upset.
3. My brother has had twin boys whom I adore and who are back at home and not here with me in suburban Hell. This makes me sad and so I buy them things. Lots and lots of things. I will be Crazy Aunt Mel who never comes to visit without presents(or Dada, as they call me at the moment because my brother and I look so much alike).
4. My brats are big and old and sassy. And still often amusing. The eldest is currently obsessed with Doctor Who.
5. I am wearing knickers with pockets in. It is a strange and somewhat useless invention. What could the pockets be used for? Nothing good, I'm sure.
Now, lovelies, tell me 5 things about you. Or something.
Er... hello. I haven't used this journal in literally years and I have no idea how many of my old friendslisters are even still around. But if you are, then hello again. I have missed this place and all of you. I'm going to be renaming within the next few days (as soon as I can pick something - gah!). Why is it that all of the good names are taken and subsequently abandoned? Very sad indeed. I need to roll up my sleeves and fix up this old place, make it habitable again. I'm sure there are boggarts and cursed necklaces and whatnot just laying about.
So.... I come back after several weeks of having a screwed up computer (which is finally fixed and I have finally finished reloading everything on) to find that Dumbledore and Grindelwald were in fact an item. I am very excited by this. One misses so much excitement when one is without the internet. I've missed you, my lovelies! Did I miss a Dumbledore/Grindelwald pornfest or the like? Anything else of interest? I've mostly been reading books over and watching old TV shows on DVD. Twin Peaks never stops being awesome, by the way.
My life has been very strange without the boy around, though he was here for a week, which was nice. The funny thing is, I don't miss him all that much most of the time. Only really when I need him to do something for me or watch the kids so I can go out and do something. I guess that sort of makes me a selfish bitch. Oh well.
Brat #2 was The Doctor for Halloween and looked adorable. I will post photos as soon as I stop being lazy and upload them. I will also get off my arse and post over at vox_lacuna now that my computer is back from the grave. :)
Crowley is eating plastic and my son just told me how many Earths would fit in the sun if it were hollow. I think it's time for bed.
My left arm is numb and slightly tingly, I feel very shaky and I don't know how to change the printer ink. Basically today sucks about as much as the entire last month has. *heavy sigh* All I want to do is play over at Vox, and all I HAVE to do is figure out how to change the ink, print out #2's science project, clean up this house while feeling like I'm going to keel over, and kill the dog if he doesn't stop being a pain in the ass. Oh, and fight with the brats about turning off their Pokemon games and doing something useful. I want to run away. After I kick the printer across the room. Why does it have to be 30 freakin' degrees when I already feel like crap? I hate you, Indian Summer.
I'm popping in from my vacation of familial lurve to see how everyone is doing and what has been going on. Please link me to anything interesting that I may want to see/read/drool over once the Boy is gone and I can be happily (or unhappily) attached to the computer once again.
We spent the entire day at the beach, which was very nice in a sandy, sun headachey sort of way. I now have a strange pattern of sunburn all over my body (apparently the Boy can't apply sunscreen for shit) and my copy of 'American Gods' is covered in sand and hermit crab germs. The brats were all about catching the hermit crabs today -- not that it's difficult. Poor little things. They brought a few back to show me and let them run all over my book.
Anyway-- I miss you all like crazy. I want to read porn. My right shoulder is stinging, but I can't reach the stingy bit to put aftersun on it and everyone else is asleep. *heavy sigh*
Oh, and I'm going to work on that thing for vox_lacuna right now, girls. :D
